Let me preface this review by saying that I have had Mexican food all over the US(California/Chicago/NYC) and also had some fine Mexican cuisine on the Baja peninsula a few years back. Saying this, La Perla Tapatia is as authentic, and as delicious, as it gets. The food has great flavor and their salsa roja is the best I’ve had. For a less spicy option, the salsa verde is so good that my 2.5 year old tries to scoop it directly into her mouth. The Unilocal page says they don’t accept credit cards, but they actually do accept all major credit cards. I hope this review encourages you to try this place. You will not regret it.

Our first time trying this true authentic hidden gem. This family owned(I think) adorable little restaurant has such a great menu. I tried the LA perla tilapia– nice size fish and wonderfully cooked. My son had the chicken quesadilla(onions galore though) and my husband chicken tostada and special beef tacos. All delicious. Nothing beats authencity… it was great and we’ll be back!

We are regular customers here and have had every dish in the menu. There is nothing in this restaurant that is not outstanding(other than the hot dog and burger for American palates). It is family owned and operated by true Guadalajara natives. Everything is fresh, never frozen or prepared ahead. It is a very unassuming street front and not elegant inside, but the food is worth your time. You will be treated like family and want to come back. It is also BYOB — even better value! You will never be sorry you stopped in!

Neighborhood and building is deceiving, as this is a very bright spot for authentic, Mexican cooking. We called ahead for a party of six and were warmly greeted and seated right away. The guacamole and chips were especially good, and our happy group filled up on tacos and empanadas. We noticed this is a BYOB place — will note for future visits!

This was the second time my wife and I have been in a week. The food has been extremely good both times. We had the guacamole with chips this time and empanada for an appetizer. The guacamole was fresh and smooth with a nice spice to it. This was the second time we have had the empanada queso and it is very tasty with a crispy outside and covered with Mexican cheese and salsa verde. My wife ordered the chicken flautas after debating the merits of the beef version. Marianne had one beef and two chicken made so my wife could try both(without us asking)! The flautas are almost a foot long so you get a nice healthy portion. I had the roasted beef Torta sandwich which was excellent as well and very flavorful. We split the freshly made flan which was delicious, and what we were hoping for. We have been to a number of Mexican restaurants and really like the food here. The owners are very nice and welcoming to their customers. We are looking forward to a return visit to continue to explore the menu.

Found this place via Unilocal and drove straight there. My wife and I were the only customers at around 2:00pm. Marianna was friendly and the salsa and guacamole were very tasty. Had the steak tacos, veggie burrito, and a quesadilla. Overall good food, fast service and very friendly staff.

Had a great meal here. Very authentic food. We had tacos, build your own burritos for 3 bucks a peice and a shredded chicken salad. The hibiscus drink was awesome. Everything was fresh and delicious at a great price. Don’t expect much atmosphere because it’s in an old luncheonette and the walls are a weird orange. I think with softer lighting and maybe some murals on the wall this place would get more business. I think it would be a better dinner or date spot if they addressed the décor. We were also told we could byob. Really liked the owner who served us.

I went there for lunch. Yes the location could use some parking, but the family running it were super. The chips and salsa(too few chips) were very good especially the salsa. The steak tacos were great and the tortilas were small but tasty. The flauntas were ok as was the steak entrée. When I go back, I will order the salsa and chips and double orders of the tacos(3 for 5). Very nice people.

Loved it. We stopped in here for dinner. Inside is clean and spacious. It’s set up like a small diner. Our waitress was was awesome. She made recommendations, explained everything, and even brought us some samples of their homemade drinks(hibiscus water, tamarind water, and horchata). We got tacos(3 for $ 5) and a burrito($ 3). The tacos were excellent. They’re a little small but not bad for the price. We also got nachos for an appetizer($ 8) which were also great. I’ll definitely be back.

Great food and friendly service. As close to authentic Mexican as we can find in the lehigh valley. Family ate lunch there and had several different kinds of tacos. The carnitas and chorizo stood out as the best, however, all were great and devoured readily. On recent visit tried the Torta — pollo and it was outstanding. The roll was perfect balance of soft and chewy and the chicken was flavorful. The woman who runs the front of the restaurant is super nice and accommodating and while you don’t go here for a scenic view of easton, it is well worth the trip for some great food.

Being from Southern California makes it difficult to find good Mexican food. This ace has done it. It’s even better than most places I have tried out there. My husband got tacos de cabeza and I ordered macho nachos. Both were delicious and homemade. The food was reasonably priced and the service was outstanding. They really made us feel comfortable and welcomed. We will definitely be back often!

Great, authentic Mexican food. In fact, if you’re not truly familiar with real Mexican cuisine, you might not recognize the names of the dishes. Not to worry though, there are pictures! The amount of delicious food that you get for the price is truly unbelievable. The burritos are a bit small but they are only 3.50 so order another dish as well. The service is excellent and the owners are friendly and courteous. They will make just about anything you want to your liking. Ask for recommendations and you’ll try things you’ve never consider before. I like the fact that they kept the old counter and stools as well as the booths. You feel like you’re eating in a Mexican diner in the 1950’s!

My family wanted Mexican food as we were passing through Easton. I thought I’d take a chance on this place, which is not in the center of town, and I was very happy I did. The food is authentic and has that homemade feel. We had excellent service, the owner was very happy to chat with us. We had several types of tacos, a burrito, and something from the Jalisco section of the menu. Everything was delicious. They gave us tastes of Horchata and a sweet hibiscus drink just so we would know what they were like. We felt like we had discovered a hidden gem. Give it a try!

lady super nice. diner bar seating. booths with poor padding. musica playing appetizer: trio — homemade chips with salsa, homemade guacamole and beans. salsa was amazing. flavorful and the right amount of hot. the beans were a bit runny. I don’t eat guacamole enough to be able to discern. all tacos with onion and cilantro: fish taco — good but fried… i always forget pollo taco — good but not great pot roast taco — was just ok carnitas taco — best flavor vegetarian burrito — it was ok. too much tortilla and not enough veggies. so id come back again because it was totally reasonable and i ate a lot.
