I would give them zero stars, if I could. And I should say that I’m writing this review on behalf of my grandparents, because they don’t quite understand how the internet works. My grandparents’ air conditioning went out last summer and they called Drake because they’d seen their vans around town. Drake came and told them that the problem required a completely new air conditioning unit(they have central air). They’d set an appointment for Drake’s people to come back and install a new unit, and told me that they were upset because Drake couldn’t get back to set it up until the next week(keep in mind, this is the middle of August and my 75-year-old grandparents are living without AC). I was surprised to hear that a five-year-old unit needed to be replaced, and suggested that they call someone else before spending the money with Drake. Sure enough, the second opinion confirmed my suspicions. Twenty-five dollars, and three hours later, a small repair had restored their AC. To make matters worse, when my grandparents decided to seek a second opinion they called Drake as a courtesy to let them know to hold off on ordering the replacement unit. Upon receiving the information that my grandparents may have been taking their business elsewhere, Drake immediately cut back on the price and said they could install the unit sooner than previously quoted. Maybe this was just a response to competition, but given how drastically Drake misdiagnosed the problem, I fear their reaction was less innocuous.
