I have never had an HOA before coming to Mitchell Village West in Eden Prairie so this is my first foray into having an HOA. I have to say that it has been pretty decent. We’ve been here 8 years and Initially it was very good, then the existing HOA manager started to have personal issues I think, something was wrong during years 6.5−7, but stuff still got done, it just was taking me a while to get it set up. It did however get done. Then they replaced that person with a new gal and once again they are really on track. I’d say over all they are good, and there has never been any assessments or legal issues I’m aware of. They are good.(And I’m picky).

Unfortunately, I have to deal with this company because the owner of the condo above my unit utilizes this company as his property management company. A couple of weeks ago there was an issue with the pipe in that unit and now my ceiling needs to be replaced due to sagging and black mold. My HOA contacted Sharper Management the day this happened and provided them all the information needed. I’ve contacted the property manager multiple times, always being told he’s waiting on someone at my HOA, despite the fact that my HOA provided him the information needed. He only responds to me after I contact the Head of Operations. I thought I’d get some sort of resolution by dealing with someone higher up in the company, but I got a very short, lackadaisical e-mail which may as well have said, «I don’t care about your problem. Wait a week until my employee gets back so he can deal with it.» I was told I’d get a response after the bad pipe was replaced, but per the property manager, this was done nearly a week ago. This company is horrible. I’ve worked for a property management company and we were expected to return phone calls and e-mails within 24 hours. That’s been the basic standard at every job I’ve held. I implore you to use a different company if you actually care about your property and tenants. By next week, I will be going on three weeks of waiting for them to actually get a contractor scheduled, and it could be a couple more weeks before one can do the work. Meanwhile, I get to breathe in black mold because of their poor property management. Go with Gittleman Management /First Service. They actually care about the properties they manage.

Epically TERRIBLE!!! Never ever again. Will not respond to repair inquiries. Give you the run around. Zero response. I’ve never had to deal with such an awful company. Refusing to repair things they are legally obligated to fix and having it negatively affect peoples home value. Unbelievable. Not sure how they get away with it.
