Oak Hill Seafood

This was my first visit to Oak Hill Seafood since they changed locations. This new store is quite a bit larger and provides plenty of room for the owners to fill with other things such as a bait shop, fishing supplies, crab traps, shrimping lamps, seasonings, and a host of other things, but I came here for the fresh caught Florida seafood. Today’s selection was fresh never frozen 24 – 26 count shrimp you can get them with the heads on or off, a little over two pounds cost about $ 28.00 they also pack them in ice free of charge for your trip home.
They also carry homemade crab cakes made with fresh local caught crabs, smoked fish dip smoked and made onsite, fresh oysters by the bushel as well as local clams and a variety of fish. They also randomly carry items from out of state today’s only offering were some delicious bay scallops flown in from Boston.
I met Laura today she is one of the owners and lives just a few hundred yards down the road she is so friendly and accommodating. If there is something you need just call a few days ahead and I’m sure if possible they will get it for you. I did notice several bushels of oysters reserved in the cooler as well as some beautiful clams. I love shopping local and supporting the local businesses especially when they are working hard to exceed the local communities expectations.
