I am disappointed that when I ordered 12 pieces of fish, it only comes with one piece of cornbread. Who does that? I called and spoke with the store and shared my concern and was told that is how it comes.

Delicious food. Great experience. Very friendly and helpful staff. Brought one of the delicious Black Cakes home for the holidays. Will definitely be returning. We had the Jerk Chicken and the Goat Curry. The goat was so tender, it was falling off the bone. Some places leave it rather chewy, but Ray’s cooks it to perfection.

It is so good! I recommend the Jerk Chicken meal with the rice and peas with plantains. It is amazing. The customer service is great and they are always under their delivery window. I order from there at least once a week.

Not as authentic as I hoped for Caribbean food but taste wasn’t bad at all. I tried the jerk chicken, the sauce was on point it was the best Caribbean spot I know of in Edgewood. The plantains was smack delicious !!! Just Perfect 10 across the board. I will defiantly come back to try more. Oh, I have tried the oxtail before and loved it but, here this dish wasn’t my favorite it just reminded of beef stew almost with less meat .the staff was very patient and helpful and for that I am great full they have earn my good business award !

Ok, so my first review for Ray’s Caribbean was rough on the server/manager as far as attitude. So I keep my word and went back today and as you can see(5 Star rating) something went right. The manager was cool, but the Jerk Chicken was 50MMHOT! When I ordered the J Chicken, I normally ask for extra sauce on the rice; he said we serve the sauce on the side, I said ok. Once home, I planned to taste a little of the Jerk Chicken and finish it later. The sauce came in a small container that I poured over the chicken and began my taste test. By sight, the chicken looked fresh, tender and thoroughly cooked; and it was. Before the heat of the sauce hit me, the flavor caused me to continue eating. It was about the second forkful when the pepper in the sauce brought tears to my eyes, took my breath away, and broke me out in a hot sweat. Some of you would say, «why would you continue to eat if the food was creating all of the mentioned symptoms»? Anyone of you who savors hot spices flavored on your food understand my pain and taste pleasure. I will continue to visit Ray’s and check out their other Caribbean plates and expect they will be as flavorful.

I used to live in Silver Spring and pupusas down there are about 1.50 each for any kind, At Rays they sell for about $ 3 and 3.75 for the other ones, They are good but way to expensive for being pupusas. Their is another place in Bel Air that sells them for $ 2.00. Please lower your prices! :)

Very fast excellent service! Food is very good the jerk chicken is very good. They have a large menu of items you won’t see at Other places. Highly recommended I will be back again and again. The owner Ray is a hardworking nice guy.

I love this place. It is tucked away inside a liquor store so it’s tricky to find at first but it is worth looking for. My favorite is the goat curry which is lean, tender and tasty. It falls right off the bone. The jerk chicken and the stew pork were delicious. I recommend taking out rather than eating in and ask for that amazing pepper sauce!

I am addicted to the jerk chicken here… the jerk sauce is out of control! The rubbed spices on the chicken itself is great and has some kick to it. The jerk sauce itself is delicious… I can’t say it enough. The owner of the place was very friendly and we talked about the seasonings there and he grows his own peppers and was very informative and even told me how to make the sauce myself at home !! Very cool! He has pride in his food and even gave me a few peppers he grew to try out… one of which was the Trinidad scorpion pepper(the hottest in the world at time). They do a lot of business so I would call ahead to pick it up… I did have a long wait a few times just walking in but I know they are taking time to make my food awesome… well worth the wait! 10 stars! I also tried the spicy meat patties and they were great too. Don’t listen to these other comments, try it for yourself and prepare for a wait if you are not calling in, the food is worth it … Asian person cooking? You can’t even see the kitchen where they cook, and even if they were Asian who gives a shit, Asian people can cook just as well as anyone else !

I went to Ray’s(i was sceptical, seeing this place was inside a liquor store) as I stood in line(3 people) I noticed there was a Asian person cooking. After a 15min wait I gave up…

We tried this place the other night. It’s located inside a liquor store in a seedy part of town, but that’s not a problem for us, we don’t discriminate :) We did wait FOREVER for our order, nearly 20mins. Chicken patties are frozen not fresh. Me and the wife ordered the same thing; stew chicken. However, our portion sizes were different. My plate had considerably more chicken than hers. Good flavor, heavier on the curry side. Wife says she could taste coconut in her rice. Which is not a bad thing, but if you are a fan of island food, this may be something you want to know(or not). Kids got the burritos, they did enjoy them, but they are LOADED with black beans, the ratio was just too much, barely any chicken, for 8 bucks… no. It was good to try, so we could scratch it off our list, but we probably won’t be back.
