In my quest to find a reasonably priced manicure and pedicure — in a CLEAN salon that does not reek of acetone — I found Edina Hairdresser. This place is a definite throwback — out of date décor from the white floor to the pastel colored fixtures — and doing wash and sets like no one’s business. Referred to as the«weeklies» these customers walked out with curled and teased ‘do’s that made me long for Grandma and a jar of Dippity Doo. The woman who did my manicure and mini-ped was very nice — sans the questions/disapproval of my previous manicurist. While she did soak my cuticles, the manicure was somewhat uncomfortable and the irritation showed the next day as I applied neosporin and band-aids to almost every finger. The mini-ped was less painful, but the polish job on both services was a bit sloppy. If you’re looking for a relaxing place to go — and don’t look at your nails up close and personal — I’d say check this place out. Just ask for a little more soak time before she pushes back your cuticles.
