Yes, this place is expensive but in my opinion it is totally worth it! You’re not just paying for the service but the experience as well — which is so relaxing no matter what service you are receiving!
Booking an appointment is also very easy. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. It’s a bit of a drive for me to this location so I wanted to book my appointments back to back so that I didn’t have to come here twice. I also wanted to book appointments with a specific stylist and aesthetician. The receptionist on the phone was able to help me out with all of my requests — she seemed very patient and sweet!
I never thought I’d be the type of person to pay to have my brows waxed. However, when you barely have any hair on your eyebrows, you don’t want to pluck them yourselves and accidentally end up with no brows. Marina is my go-​to aesthetician to make my brows look on fleek again. I was recommended to her by a friend and I can see why because I wouldn’t trust anyone else to wax my brows! Like I said, I barely have hair on my eyebrows but yet somehow Marina makes it look like I do by the time I walk out those doors! In addition, she’s so personable and great at what she does!
I used to not be picky about who or where I got my hair cut until I found Charlie, my go-​to stylist. She’s so sweet and has such a bubbly personality! Charlie makes the experience fun and relaxing. She will always listen to what you want and then give you her own suggestions which I always go with and have not been disappointed!

Booked last minute mother of the bride services the day before the ceremony. Fabulous service and results! Camille did an excellent job sculpting my hair and I had my first professional makeup application in my life. Such pampering! I looked like a million bucks!!!

Leaving a 1 rating because now after all my hassles… I get a phone confirmation for an appointment I never made for me and some magical «Rachel» person. Apparently we are getting stone massages this weekend!

My review is specifically for Rebecca who cut my hair exactly as I asked her to. I haven’t had my hair professionally cut in a couple of years due to all the bad hair cuts I’ve had in the past. Rebecca understood what I was asking for when I said I wanted my layers trimmed/​shaped up without losing the over all length. I’m amazed at how many people I went to before Rebecca who didn’t understand this. She was very friendly, attentive and skilled. I will definitely go back to have my hair cut by her again and again.

It’s been a very long time since I’ve gotten my hair cut at Spalon (the last time was at the Woodbury location). Got a gift card for my birthday to Spalon and decided it’s time for a haircut to ring in the new year! The receptionist was very friendly and fast on getting me in for a haircut. Parking was super convenient and easy due to the ramp being right next to the salon. I was greeted immediately and checked in at the front desk (the receptionist was not too friendly or chipper). The one thing that surprised me during my visit at Spalon was that i was not offered a beverage (almost every salon spa offers you a beverage — water? tea? coffee?), I mean even some nail salons offer a beverage! The haircutting/​styling stations at this location was disappointing due to the very poor lighting. The chairs the clients sit in is basically an office chair with a foot rest — not comfy not to mention quite tacky looking from the wear and scuffs. Another con about the location of the haircutting/​styling stations is that it is right next to the nail stations, so the whole time I got my haircut I was inhaling nail polish/​chemical odors. Not pleasant!
My hairstylist did a great job not getting water on my face or washing off my make up :)
The scalp massage during the hair wash was decent I suppose.
As for the hair cutting part it was OK. Here’s why:
*As I was explaining the specifics of my hair and what I would prefer, there were times where she would kind of brush me off or would tell me «she’s got it», when I’m trying to tell her, no blunt cuts or I would prefer my part on a certain side (when I’ve ALWAYS gotten my hair parted this way).
*Although I told her I didn’t want too much length taken off and to clean up the split ends — I have no idea if she even cut any hair off … I didn’t feel any hair being cut really and there wasn’t much hair on the floor.
*She was OK at multi-​tasking (there are some people that cannot talk and cut hair at the same time).
*Usually with a haircut service it goes: WASH, CUT, DRY & STYLE (I confirmed it with the gal that booked me twice). And when I mentioned to my stylist after the dry that I get my hair styled too, she said usually there’s an upcharge. But she styled it anyway since the receptionist boo booed.
*SUPER SKIMPY ON PRODUCT — look, I’m already paying $ 60 a haircut, I’m sure hooking up some hairspray wouldn’t kill anyone.
My take on Spalon, I’d say stop in for their spa services (massages and skincare). But hair? I’d say maybe go elsewhere? The experience wasn’t terrible I just feel that a salon like Spalon could have offered tip top service and quality.

I booked four hair appointments here for a wedding. I wasn’t happy with two of the stylings so the manager reimbursed me.

I got my girlfriend and I facials here for her birthday, it was an awesome experience! I’m a complete novice with this stuff so I got the standard facial, my skin still feels awesome 2 weeks later! The overall atmosphere is the selling point, kicking back with a neck wrap next to the fire on a sweet leather couch after getting a facial is pretty much aces if you ask me.

I called her and she was so fantastic. She was extremely passionate and showed that she truly cared for her customers and wanted to serve perfect customer service.
I was able to explain the service i had received and explained that i didn’t receive my Phytomer Gift Set. She was genuinely apologetic and i appreciated her understanding and her taking the time to hear me.
Miss. Gail asked for my address and wanted to make it right. She sent me a gift card, the Phytomer Gift Set, a written and signed letter, and included a haircut/​hair style.
Her caring attitude, and willingness to make me the customer feel welcomed has made me eager to try again. This time i’d like to take my mother, sister, and my boyfriend. (they were fantastic) i am excited for another go because the services themselves are excellent! Fingers crossed the ladies at the front desk aren’t going to make me feel awful!

I was there yesterday and had a fantastic Madrid retreat. The massage, facial, manicure and Pedicure were all fantastic! Also our concierge who served us lunch was very kind! Top notch spa experience, for a very good price!!!

Maryna is the best aesthetician a woman can ask for! thorough, friendly and very good at her job. I would not trust anyone else with my brows, i’d rather be bushy

I see Brandi for highlights and balayage. She is pricey, but great at making my hair color look so natural that there have been times I have accidentally waited 6 months before going in again for a touch up! I try to keep it more regular now… she is fantastic! I haven’t had any of their other services, as they seem so overpriced.

I’ve been going to Spalon for 7 – 8 years now. I’ve had some hits and misses with the various services I’ve gotten here.
Hits: I get regular manicures and have had nothing but excellent experiences with them! I highly recommend their nail technicians. My usual hair stylist does wonderful work and truly listens to what I am asking her to do.
Misses: The prices can really be steep depending on the service. I’ve had to go elsewhere for my eyebrows because I just cannot justify spending so much on them. Same with the massages and facials. I recently made an appointment for a haircut. It was with a new-​to-​me stylist as my regular person was not available and I was desperate. It was absolutely horrible! First, the service was running very late — 30 minutes or so. Once I was called back, the stylist was so rushed that she was hurting me. I asked for her to adjust the water temp (which she did), and I also had to ask her to be more gentle when she was combing and blow drying my hair. She spent approximately 15 minutes with me – including the shampoo, cut, and blow dry. She did not check for evenness with the cut and it was very clear that she just wanted to be done with me. I left with a headache and my scalp felt bruised in some areas due to the roughness with combing my hair. I contemplated talking to the manager on the spot, but when I left the front desk staff people were talking with one another and appeared annoyed that I was interrupting their conversation. I just wanted out of there.

Set appointment 3 – 4 weeks in advance, had to wait an additional1.5 hrs of the 3 hour appointment. Low/​cheap tea selection. Had to request fragranced oil during massage. Massage and Lunch was very good. Front staff was not very polite. Beautiful place though.

Extremely disappointed with my recent experience here. It was my first time to Spalon Montage and was excited to try somewhere new. I went to get a TRIM, that’s it. I left with nearly SIX inches being cut off! I used to have long hair and wanted the ends to be cleaned up and it to be layered. I specifically explained that I wanted multiple tiers of long layers. The person that cut my hair was technically what they call a «apprentice.» Although I understand she is still learning she had her supervisor come over before starting the cut to ensure she had a good plan. She explained it the way we had discussed it and was given the ok to continue. At the end she called her supervisor back over to inspect my hair. The supervisor asked what I thought and I explained that it was WAYYYY to short! I explained I only wanted a trim and this was now falling just past my shoulders. She completely dismissed me and said well its a good haircut. Her only concern was that it was cut even. As a customer I feel that the number 1 priority should be that she follows directions. An even haircut means nothing if it isn’t anywhere near what was requested. In addition, there is only 1 slight layer at the bottom. By this point there was no way I was going to let her take the scissors anywhere near my hair to try and add more. Extremely dissapointed in the service I was provided, especially by the supervisor. She was dismissive and it was her responsibility to monitor the apprentice and make things right with the customer. Needless to say I will not be returning and not recommending this place to others.

My experience at Spalon is limited to the spa, but I have had nothing except great experiences. I have been getting prenatal massages from Jillian throughout my pregnancy. She is an excellent masseuse, who really understands the unique needs of your body during pregnancy. However, I have had ‘regular’ (ie non-​prenatal) massages from Jillian in the past, which are just as fantastic. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
I also recommend MJ for your aesthetic needs. She is patient, kind and most importantly, talented. She is a master of eyebrows, but I know she is also excellent for many other aesthetic services.

Spalon in Edina is top notch!!! I have been to many stylists for haircuts, and have experienced amazing manicures, pedicures, and massages. It is such a treat to come here, very relaxing and a wonderful customer experience. I wish every place was this great!!!

Go see Ande Koskie for the best hair cut and color in the Twin Cities! I have been a loyal, delighted client of her’s for nearly 8 years (all lengths of hair, btw!). In addition to being a true artist, she is also very personable. Make an appointment now; you will be so happy that you did!

Stopped here today and wow — so glad I did. Facials are something I tend to put off and I never know why!
First off — super cute salon! All the fixtures and ambiance make this place a winner.
Second — my esthetician was fantastic! She was friendly, knowledgable & gave me the best facial I’ve had to date. Trust me, I’ve had plenty! She went above and beyond to make my visit relaxing and therapeutic.
Bonus– it includes a lovely massage!

I just had the most amazing facial with Jennifer at Spalon in Edina. She was friendly, knowledgeable and addressed all of my skin concerns. I will definitely be back!
Beyond the actually service– the facility is amazing. A true spa. Quiet and tranquil. A place to go to relax and regroup. Highly recommended!

Got walk in service on a Sun afternoon prior to a family party. This was a style only, no cut. How could things go wrong? I spent an hour here & much of the time was spent under the big bobble head dryer. Not a lot of energy put in to styling, which was the problem. Paid the hefty bill, no tip. Never again. I could have done better at home for free.

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE.
2 stylists destroyed my hair in one day. They are so overbooked, they just rush through everything and do a crappy job. I came in for a full foil and the stylist said she would give me a partial with a toner. Not what I asked for, but okay. I’ve been having my hair highlighted every few months for 12 years and I have NEVER been pushed out of an appointment that quick, and it showed! I asked for thin, well-​blended highlights, and ended up with thick chunky bleach streaks that were so far from my roots that they already looked like they needed to be touched up!
Came back an hour later to have someone else fix it and I asked if she could put in low lights or another shade of blonde to break up the thick chunks of blonde and she said «no», so instead, she put MORE BLEACH on top of the other bleach! Now, instead of a natural looking full foil like I asked for, I have silver-​white hair on the top half of my head, and dark strawberry-​blonde on the bottom half. I look like a cheap hooker and I can’t afford to go to a different salon and pay another $ 100 to have someone else fix what they did.
I’ll be wearing a hat for 3 months now. Fabulous.

I have been getting my nails done for over 10 years so to say I have been everywhere is a pretty legitimate statement. That is until I found Gow at Spalon! She is beyond amazing at gel nails and shellac. I have been going to her for at least 2 years now and every time I get my nails done I get compliments from numerous woman asking where I get them done. I am very picky as I have a french manicure and it’s very easy for that to look cheap, or the tips too large etc. She constantly makes them looks flawless and on top of that is very personable and I always have a great time there.
Not only are nails technicians great at Spalon so are their other services. I have had eyebrow waxing and facials from numerous of the ladies and have never left unsatisfied. Yes it’s a bit spendy but I am a firm believer in you pay for what you get. Couldn’t recommend it more.

I would come here for everything except hair.
The spa is absolutely wonderful and inviting. Whether it’s an eyebrow wax, massage, or pedicure, I’ve always left feeling great.
There was a time when I had to substitute my colorist with another woman working there. This was a negative experience for me as she handed me a brush and told me to brush out my own hair in an annoyed tone so that she could go and mix color. Also, she had a colleague with her at the wash bowl that was monitoring my color that was developing and it gave me anxiety that she didn’t know what she was doing. After this experience, I decided to go elsewhere for my hair services.
