Just finished dinner here for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised. My husband and I both really loved our meals! My Pad Thai with chicken was delicious. They even added some carrots and broccoli when I mentioned that I would like vegetables with it. My husband got a curried vegetable dish that he also really enjoyed. Service was great! Very polite and accommodating waiters. Price was very reasonable plus coupon! Pleasant environment. We will definitely return and also tell friends about Bamboo Wok.

Worst indo chinese ever !!! Pineapple fried rice had no salt or spices. Veg Manchurian was bland. One star for delivery one time! !!

Awesome small BYOB restaurant for indo-Chinese food. Amazing dishes. Schezwan triple fried rice was a little atypical though. Great service and staff. We arrived just 15 minutes before closing time and the staff was happy to accommodate us. Good work !

Takeout on a slow Monday night… The Hakka Chili Chicken with sauce is very oily. By smell, taste, and look it reminds me of the oil used in every sauce in every Chinese take out joint(the thick oily brown sauce). You’ll notice when the dish cools down too, it gets weirdly thick and chunky. The chicken tastes fine but the coating has a slimy texture, like it was initially battered for stir frying/deep frying but tossed into a soup instead. $ 13 is really expensive for what you get, hot peppers in oil, brown sauce, sparse chicken, and rice. I don’t know what people love about it. I’d try a dry dish to avoid the oil. Maybe that makes all the difference.

I never rate anything a 5… this place is amazing! The lemon corriender chicken soup was perfection. The ginger Lamb was the best ginger Lamb I’ve ever had. Drums of heaven chicken was sooo good. Highly recommend it! Can’t wait to bring my family and friends here!

Best Indo-Chinese restaurant in NJ! 1) For appetizer, we got vegetable dry Manchurian and drums of heaven. Both were excellent. 2) For entrée, we got Hakka chili chicken and Singapore noodles. Again, both excellent. 3) Ambiance is nice, and customer service was good.

I’ve gotta give it to this place, they were the epitome of a great Asian fusion restaurant. I recently dined with a friend and had an excellent experience here. The service was excellent; not once did I find my glass of water empty. Our entrée was timed perfectly so we were finished with our appetizer already and ready for our meal. The waitstaff was courteous and knowledgable about the menu. Their recommendations were spot on. The food itself was absolutely delicious. We got the Chinese Bhel to start and I was very impressed. The taste and texture was something I could never have imagined, but it all went together perfectly. As for my entrée, I ordered the Chili Garlic Noodles. I’m not a big fan of thin noodles they use, i personally prefer thicker noodles. However, I have got to say after my first bite I forgot all about the noodle size and was pleasantly surprised at how well the sweet garlic and spicy chili came together to formulate such a mouthwatering taste. I was extremely happy with this dish, and the portion size of both were more than adequate. I would definitely recommend this place to any looking to try something different. You won’t be disappointed!

I’ve had Bamboo Wok twice so far, and both times it has been excellent. I got take-out once, and recently dined in-house with one of my homies. We showed up like 20 minutes before the place opened for dinner like jackals, and the guy happily said we could have a table while we waited. In less than 5 minutes our waiter was at our service. We had our candle lit because that’s just how we like it. We ordered the Chinese Bhel for an appetizer. I’m a meat and potatoes kind of fella, so I’ve never had bhel before. At first my taste buds were firing off, and it left me confused. It was the kind of ‘different’ I was looking for. I’ve had the Hakka Chili Chicken and it was delicious, and it comes with green peppers and jalapenos. I really liked my homie’s Szechuan noodles though. I didn’t know noodles could have such dynamic taste. Wow, just wow, 2015 what a time to be alive eh?! Our service was terrific, as my glass of water was never empty. My take-out experience was enjoyable. I got the Hakka Chili Chicken and it was consistent with what I got dining in. I do have some criticism. I’ve contemplated taking an itty bitty star away from them for this error, however I am stoned and generous. The website advertises a weekend buffet special, but when I called they told me that it is no more. That’s alright, but I could understand a petulant child throwing a temper tantrum if they did not call ahead. It’s a nice looking website, update it!

Pretty good food however some new fusion places locally make this place not really the go to spot anymore. Lots of vegetarian options and BYOB. Will update further after a second visit.

We went to bamboo wok on our to PA as customary to stop in edison area NJ for indian food and grub. At first we were in assumption that Bamboo Wok was fully Indi Chinese rest. but it is actually indo chinese, chinese and fusion type of things. As we sat we ordered Dry Manchurian and Hakka chili chicken for dinner. We were the only people in the rest. as it was quit early in the evening. The food came fairly quick. THe Veg dry Manchurian were really very good and well presented. The hakka chili chicken in the other hand was good but i sort of did not like the taste of it. I dont something was throwing me off. This was my first time having something called hakka chilli chicken so cannot compare it with any other place that has it. It was chicken with onions and peppers in a drak soy sauce gravy with a smoky flavor. Overall the place is good and it is way out there somewhere in a industrial area so dont worry if you think where the heck you are and if this is the right place or not since it is sort of like in that place. Pricing is good and they usually have deals on Unilocal.we have 10% off which they let us use no question asked.

The fried rice was perfect although the Chilli chicken could be made with little extra cilli. We ordered only few items but each one was quite nice. Would love to go back and try more on the menu!

We tried fGobi Manchurian and baby corn Manchurian for appetizers — it was awesome. Lemon coriander sounded different and it was yummy. Chilli Garlic noodle for entrée — it was yummy but not for the tummy. It was spicy even for an Indian Belly. You may want to specify the spice level. Oh yeah — paan masala ice cream is a treat! And they did accept Unilocal discounts — yaaaaaaayyy!!! Overall — it was a good experience!

This restaurant does only Indo-Chinese food and d@mn is it good. Here is the breakdown… Food: really tasty and fresh. They deliver items to the table as they become available so you’re always eating as soon as its ready. The Gobi Manchurian appetizer and the Chinese Bhel were the highlights of the appetizers we tried although everything was delicious. I can’t choose a favorite main because everything was so good, but if I was forced to. the Chili Garlic Noodles were the perfect blend of spice and flavor. Also, nothing was overly oiled or greasy; we didn’t leave feeling bad for what we ate. Décor: its quaint and warm. The space is not too large but we had a large party and felt comfortable there. The space is warm and very clean. Service: as noted we were a large party and they were great with the service to us. One guy was able to manage our crowd and get our order right. He evenly decanted our wine for us since it was a small vineyard bottle. That exceptional service. Price: for the portion sizes, surprisingly cheap! Like $ 13⁄14 for an entrée where the food could easily fill you up but its fresh and hot and tasty. At some other indo-Chinese restaurants, you’d get way less food and not as tasty. Other: BYOB. Do I need to continue? Oh and awesome Unilocal coupon. Unfortunately, this place ruined me for other indo-Chinese restaurants. That’s OK, at least they do takeout.

4 stars for our first visit and I expect will get to 5 soon. Very broad menu, including many vegetarian offerings. BYO and very reasonably priced(entrees $ 14 – 17) – well below Ming and Nanking, its closest competitors. Excellent service. Flavors are vivid – and remember their version of spicy is hotter than yours if you are not Asian. Pleasant décor and quite clean – do not be put off by the strip mall location somewhat off the main drag. Lemon coriander soup, chili chicken and chili tofu appetizers are all very good. Tom yum soup and dumplings were ok. Basil fish, ginger lamb and Hakka chicken entrees were all good. I wish it were closer to my home.

Nice décor(lighting wise), yet not too spacious. Ive been there mainly for dinning in, they don’t have much of a front desk, so if you’re getting take out, id wait in my car. Service is on a general level okay, Ive only had one incorrect order in the so far 5 to 6 times that Ive been there. At which point they fixed it right away. The only thing is when a large party is in the restaurant, they get all the attention. Food wise. Soups:I would absolutely recommend the soups. If you take nothing else from this place, at least try the soups. All of them are well made and delicious. Appetizers: I’d skip them, didn’t find any nice ones … ever. Lamb: Chili Lamb. Don’t bother with anything else. Chicken: Hakka Chili Chicken [= best entrée in the house so far ] Veg: Most of the dishes were decent, although i haven’t done too much venturing out in this arena. Desserts: The ice creams are nice. In general i didn’t think the Szechwan dishes were that well made, I recently tried a veg fried rice, where there was a lot less pepper corn and lot more red peppers. If you want szechwan, id go to a different place. I feel if you want a nice fusion Indian Chinese place by which i mean the Soups and Hakka chicken. Then this is your a nice restaurant to check out.

This is comparatively a new restaurant. The ambiance is OK. The service and the host are nice. I tried their Chinese bhel, it was something that I had never tried before. It was crispy and spicy. I also tried their triple schezwan fried rice. It was good, full of chicken. The portions are also good for the price. Will certainly recommend this place.

Food: Very Good Service: Excellent Ambience: Very Good Stopped here for dinner based on Unilocal reviews and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. This is an Indian style Chinese eatery, so you will not find some staples that you expect from a typical Chinese joint. Everything here tends to be spicy but it was just what I was looking for. The appis were the star drums of heaven(chicken drumsticks fried with a onion garlic sauce on them), chicken spring rolls and the chili lotus are amazing. The chili fish and the bamboo wok stirfry rice were the highlights of the entrées. We were disappointed in the chicken mancurian and the chili shrimp. The service was especially great the servers were attentive and polite. I have already been back and will be back again soon.

If you’re into the Indo-Chinese vibe, then definitely give this place a try. Food: I personally like the Chili Paneer with the Veg Chili Noodles. I’ve heard the Manchurian with gravy is also a good option here. Service: Joel, the waiter was pretty welcoming. He did a great job explaining the popular options on the menu. I think I’ll definitely be back to try some more food.
