Been a customer here for many years. Bought my kids various bikes as they grew, always got good advice, and patient time to explain things. Now I have a recumbent that requires some special and unusual attention, and they have been great in taking the time to get it right, even with several iterations, due to the finicky nature of this unusual bike. They have gone the extra mile for me.

The best local bike shop I found. Knowledgeable, fair and well priced. Always happy to help out a local business.

My friends and I came to New York(from California, Kentucky and Illinois) to ride in the 5 Boro Bike Tour. Several weeks before the event we found Joyful Cycle’s website and completed their online bike rental form, which was a simple form. Their staff then followed up with us via phone and answered all of our questions. When we came to pick up the bikes we were extremely pleased with the quality of the bikes and the friendliness of the staff. They fitted us for the bikes and made necessary adjustments on the spot. They took their time doing this to ensure we had a great fit with our bikes. They also assisted us with loading the bikes into our truck. The entire experience was pleasant and we would not hesitate to shop here again. Also note that we had contacted 3 other bike companies and decided to go with Joyful because of their simple, straight-forward reservation process and responsiveness. One company we contacted did not do advance rentals and expected us to wait until a few days before the event to confirm our reservation; another company wanted us to go to bike shops in our own states and send in all of our measurements before renting bikes from them; a third company never responded to our email inquiry. In contrast, Joyful allowed us to make reservations weeks in advance, promptly responded to all of our inquiries and gave us great tips on transporting the bikes, helmet and seat comfort. I definitely recommend this place for your biking needs.

the guy behind the counter kept using the word«old» like it’s a bad thing and like i don’t know a 1962 schwinn cruiser is old. yes i’m gonna ride it, that’s why i’m asking you for new tires. he actually tried to sell me a new bicycle, as if i’m interested in upgrading. as if i bought an antique bike without grasping what it is. the best part was when he actually tried to tell me that no tires exist for it anywhere. none in stock they can’t be ordered because this bike is so hopelessly, pitifully old. it wasn’t until i was back in my car that i realized to my amazement that this brat behind the counter thought he was being smug about a «cheap» bike, as opposed to an awesome restoration project. kim’s in new brunswick had no problem. in and out on the same day. no complaints, no attempts to upsell, and no «ministry.» and they had a good laugh when i told them what joyful said.

Pretty good neighborhood shop. Doesn’t sell the high end or smaller bike manufacturers I’m looking for; appears like they’re more focused on the casual rider but makes sense for the area. That said, their service is quick and reasonably priced. Had them true up a few wheelsets(one required some major surgery) and they’ve stayed true since. Decent selection of tools for the DIY type.

Great service to 2 bikes. They ride better than ever now. I do suggest you go during the week if you don’t have time to wait your turn. They do a thorough job and charge accordingly. . They will even provide pick up and drop off service if you’re in the area… fee is about $ 20 each way.

A great neighborhood bike shop. They really take care of you. Wide selection of bikes to match all needs. They also have every accessory you can imagine. Part of the fun is to accessorize your bike. I went whole hog and really made my already awesome new bike my own. Don’t go there if you’re on a Wallmart budget. They guys carry quality merchandise at a price.

I had the pleasure of spending some time with Joyful Cycle and had a blast. I am not the most athletic person but they truly put me at ease when trying to get into biking. They were so receiving that they invites me out to participate in rides with the club and to see them compete in triathlons! Its always motivating when you have the sales staff completing Iron Mans and triathlons, pretty much you’re in great hands. I recommend everyone step by joyful for all your athletic needs. They are the BEST! see

I am now a regular shopper and rider at Joyful Cycles. I use to go 5 minutes from my home to another bike shop, but ever since I got horrible service there, I now travel at least 15 – 20 minutes to go to this shop. They have plenty of people to give you their expert advice about products they carry. Not only do they know the product they actually use the products they carry. Which gives them an expert edge on any competition. They are certified and trained in this field. They offer free classes in the winter time, and have multiple rides on different days. Everything from your casual rides to your more advanced level rider. It sometimes can get busy with customers, but they try to help you as much as they can before they move onto the next customer. They put the time and attention into every tune up you get and go even a step further and wash down your bike. Not many places can say they do that. The have a second floor full of more products. They have my business and over 4 days that Ive been there. They have made over $ 1,200 on me so far.

Great bicycle shop. My husband and I went in with some knowledge of the bikes we wanted but when we saw how many different choices there were, I was at first overwhelmed. However, the sales rep Max really was very helpful in choosing the bikes we wanted. He knew by us sitting on the bikes what size and adjustments we needed, even before we test drove them. Yes they allow test driving the bikes around the neighborhood! We test drove about 3 – 4 types of bikes each, asked numerous questions and spent about 3 hours — Max and the rest of James’s staff was patient and extremely knowledgable. My husband and I have rode our bikes for a couple of days now and could not be happier, it feels and fits perfectly like Max predicted. Would definitely recommended this place to go to if you want to purchase a bike and have a basic knowledge of what you want. They also have alot of products for those who are avid bikers as well.

The hottest, and only, bike shop in town. I went in, and the nice lady talked me out of buying something I don’t need! Thank you for that. I also bought some flashing lights for my bike, because I will be doing some night riding. I’m a(k)night rider now, betch. So she gave me a run down of what works best, and I put it on the bike right in the store. I’m quite the sight now, with my orange backpack, neon green vest, white helmet, green ankle reflectors, and flashing LED head and tail lights. Yeah, I know you want a piece of that. Anyway, Joyful rocks! I think they have some American made stuff… I clearly don’t know much about bikes so look at the website to see what they have!
