I was disappointed by the food here. I asked for vegetable recommendations and ordered this spinach dish. It came with no rice or sides and was extremely salty. The guy working was not the most helpful with recommendations and wasn’t the friendliest either. My family and I were the only ones at the restaurant so it’s not like he was super busy.

This has to be the most tastless sorry excuse for a restaurant. I ordered a dal makhni which was nothing more than lentils and a whole bunch of ginger and garlic. It was awful, than there was the paneer makhni which if you ever had it had go down the road to Mogul or Rasoi and its 100% better all day and twice on Sundays. The only that that i ordered that they managed to not screw up was the rice. I guess thats right up their alley. Save your money and don’t eat here. All the reviews were probably done by friends and family that gave them a blind rating. Terrible food, terrible kitchen condition, and oh did I mention terrible tasting food again.

We had Punjabi Kitchen cater food for 20 people and ordered palak paneer, veg jalfrazzi, dal makhani and assorted naans. Jassi was great at being able to setup the catering order the day before we needed the food. As for the food in itself, it was surely tasty, maybe missing a pinch of salt, but that can be added on top. By the end of the night, almost all of it was eaten, which is a good sign. As a kind gesture, they also included salad and raita free of charge. The price was very reasonable, food was ready on time and all in all good experience. Thanks Punjabi Kitchen

Chicken 65 was superb. Also tried the boneless chicken curry. Delicious. Ambience is good. Enjoyed the personalized service.

I went there with my family recently in the noon time for buffet. Food was not as good or tastey like others described here. It doesn’t come any near to best for sure. Manager and girls had a sour face. Not even welcoming us They continued talking with each other and completely ignored us. Spoons, forks and dishes seems like in shortage even we had only a few ppl there. For the price of 11.99 I can get a decent buffet menu at other places near by with nice service and ambience. I have a feeling all those good reveiws are from those whom they know. Not going again ever.

Food was delicious. We ordered medium spice which was too spicy for my daughter but even she could not stop eating everything. Chicken Biryani was very tender and flavorful. Cozy spot and friendly service.

Went after reading good reviews but it was dissappointing. Chicken starters were okay. Veg were extreamly bad. For chicken main course, same curry was used in different dishes. Malai cofta was bad and wasnt cooked properly. Worst was that she asked us write good comment to get the complimentary dessert. Not sure if the existing comments are real. Not at all worth a visit. Not recommended.

The kind woman at the counter suggested the Chicken Makhani so I got that and the Chicken 65 along with a Bread basket since I love Naan. The food was delicious. I wanted to order more but it would have been too much. Service was great and the staff is very friendly. I’ll definitely be back to try more. Also, it’s BYOB!

Ok — it’s a hole in the wall/barn(with a paan shop right built in the front); we(3) there at about 7:20p and there’s one other table(family); no ambiance; Indian rock vid’s on TV; it’s about the food — we sit… Slow service kinda ‘when we get to you’ type speed but I think server new-ish. Menus — traditional fare; we order Alou Chaat, vege samosa’s Chicken tandori, alou moter gobi, and goat achari(pls forgive spelling); assorted nan/bread basket and rice. Ten minutes later — the place was packed with local Indian Edison folks(kids, grandmom, etc.)… Our food starts to come, many tables watching… oh boy. The chaat was to die for; samosa’s good, Tandori brought out by owner very proudly and deservedly so… Alou gobi — perfect; and the goat achari; pickley, little rib cuts of goat — succulent and perfection… The owner lady delightful. Come at the wrong time and you’ll wait — but a week later… I want to eat there again even if I have to wait with the the guys chewing paan.

Punjabi Kitchen is a new kid on the block of Oak Tree and has been creating a lot of Buzz so naturally We HAD to go visit. Lets start with the vibe, Punjabi Kitchen is located off of Oak Tree Rd and being outside of it give you that«Dhaba» feel on a National Highway complete with«Pan Tapri», step inside and the same continues with minimalist interior. Now the food, and surprisingly the Dhaba theme continues with finger licking delicious food. We were a fairly big group(8) so had the opportunity to try A LOT of food. Chicken Sheek Kebab, Paneer Tikka, Goat Curry(BTW a must have), Malai Kofta, Kadhai Paneer, Dal Makhani(Five Starts given) and Dal Tadka, assorted breads(Garlic Naan, Tandoori Roti, Tandoori Naan), Rice(Yes does not come with mains you have to get it separately) Every single item we ordered was very delicious and the best part, $ 15 per head for all that food. YES $ 15 Dhaba pricing continues here as well. Now coming to the part which forced me to give 4 out of 5 stars. You don’t visit Punjabi Kitchen for a quick bite, be prepared to wait very long waits. The service is painstakingly slow. It took almost 30 mins until some came to the table, that too when I walked to the managers counter, took the menus to our table myself That’s when the server came, Although she had a charming personality, she was running around like a headless chicken for no obvious reason there were like 5 tables occupied granted that’s like 70% occupancy for them but still shouldn’t have taken her 30 mins to come by and then there was the part of getting the food out. ONEHOUR Plus, I kid you not it took them more than an Hour to bring out the food. Agreed EVERYTHING was made FRESH, we could taste it but 1 hours is too much for a restaurant(guess they have only one cook), All I want to say is don’t come into Punjabi Kitchen if you are in rush. In-fact this is the place for long lost friends to come in and catch up on. They do allow BYB Alcohol so I guess the wait wont be that bad after all. Would I visit Punjabi Kitchen again? SURE I’d love to. Would I recommend it to other? YES

A tiny hole in the wall restaurant with absolutely delightful food! My first time here was a few weeks back, we ordered Chicken Curry, Paneer Sag and Butter naan. I had noticed the Restaurant opening banners earlier and decided to try this place out. At first, the place looked really small and there weren’t any customers in here. But as soon as we ordered, people were pouring in and the staff was extremely friendly. The food turned out to be heavenly! Just like you’d make at home — and by home I mean you’re mom cooking it !! We decided to brave this place again today, wondering if our earlier visit was probably a one time thing. ITSOWASN’T! We ordered Punjabi Chicken, Baingan Barta, Tawa Roti and Garlic Naan. Simple, delicious and very well prepared. All the spices were in perfect unison with each other to make the dishes phenomenal. If you’re looking for a place to eat good Indian food, then this is your spot to go !! A definite MUSTVISIT!

A very appropriate name! Finally in Edison there is now a place I can go to for some authentic Punjabi food. Went with the family last week on a weekday. Considering its brand new, it was quite packed. This place not only satisfied my craving for butter chicken and garlic naan, I absolutely loved the tava shrimp and fish pakoras. If you love seafood, I can guarantee you will come back the next day for more. I normally don’t eat lamb but since my dad ordered it, I gave it a try. It’s now my new favorite.

Took my wife this weekend to this newly opened place on OakTree based on 5star reviews. Yes, The best goat curry and chicken curry I had so far in U.S. We also had the homemade malai kulfi for desert and that truly gave us the taste of India. My wife and I will certainly come back to this place.

We went for a buffet here purely based on the 5 star reviews. This review is for the buffet. Overall, for a $ 10.99 weekend buffet, this place was complete garbage with regard to both quality and variety of food. 1. They only had 2 vegetarian entrée options — mattar paneer and mixed vegetables… both of which were oily and unappealing. Yes they had daal as well but this a staple item in any buffet. 2. The non veg options were chicken curry and goat curry. I did not try the goat but the chicken curry was very bland. Even the chicken itself was the dark meat, cheap quality version. 3. For appetizers they had only tandoori chicken and over oily pakoras. 4. Desserts included a very watered down and overly sweet kheer and very hard, cold Gulab jamuns. I honestly question the previous 5 star ratings. I may consider giving this place a try again BUT for a la carte only. Advice to all future patrons — — don’t have the lunch buffet here!!!

I wish I could give zero. We went to this place around 4pm on Saturday. Chicken 65 is wet and not at all dry. It was made from frozen chicken nuggets it seems. Very hard to chew. We ordered Chicken Makhani(Butter Chicken) which is made from left over tandoori chicken from lunch I guess. Gravy was ok. Tandoori Roti and Tava Roti are OK but with lot of butter. We will never go to this place again. Owner himself is the server, no one was there except us. Very bad experience.

Had biryani, sizzlers along with few other snacks. Every item had a very authentic taste; not like most others where everything taste about the same. We have already placed catering order for an upcoming event and have no doubt that my guest would be impressed. This place is definitely a must go, if you want have a taste that sticks and, makes u crave for more.

I’ve eaten at most of the restaurants on Oak Tree so was excited to see a new place open up. The food was surprisingly delicious! Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Punjabi food! P. S…got the gulab jamun as a free dessert with Unilocal check in– it was really good!

My family and I visited PK over a weekend. The food was yummy and super pleasing for your palate. Being from Delhi I have always missed authentic Delhi Punjabi food and this place offers a lot more than that. Pradeep was our waiter and his service was excellent My family and I had chilly chicken, Chicken 65 and butter chicken which were all extremely delicious. My uncle being vegetarian loved the paneer tikka and bhindi masala. I will surely go again soon to try the other dishes. This is going to be my favorite eating place for authentic punjabi food.
