Stop & Shop

This is a SUPER Stop & Stop, so it’s much bigger than the one on Inman Ave in Edison, which used to be my go-​to grocery stop when I still lived at home. Now this is still no Wegmans, but they carry a lot of natural and organic foods and products, a lot of which is on their own Nature’s Promise line. Their Nature’s Promise organic quick oats are the best oats I’ve had to date, their organic pasta sauce is good and cheap, and they even have organic mangoes — something I haven’t been able to find at Wegmans so far.

This is my go-​to supermarket in the area when I don’t want to drive all the way to Wegmans. The produce is ok, peppers and onions can be bad sometimes. Nothing exotic here, but they have spaghetti squash which is nice.
The organic section is right by the fruit. All the other usual supermarket offerings. I’m not a fan of their pre-​made soup. The biggest disappointment at this place is the fish. 1 small open face fridge of previously frozen offerings and a few freezer doors of frozen shell fish.
They have grass fed australian beef and organic, hormone free chicken. The also carry lots of «simply» juices, including orange-​mango.
They have a bakery that does bread, muffins and doughnuts, but I saw a bunch of flies in the glass case once and skip anything from there. The fresh bread is good.

Cleanliness– Always very clean and well maintained, no complaints here
Selection– Pretty standard. Not as much as say, Wegman’s, but for the most part this place has what you’re looking for. Nice all around selection with an ethnic, kosher, and vegetarian isle. Not bad.
Service– Mostly pretty good. Most of the cashiers are pretty decent and polite. Haven’t had any traumatic, bad experiences that would make me complain.
Overall its a pretty decent store. Location’s great too.

Yeah, this schtop-​and-​schop is alright.
The produce is usually fine. The cheese selection notta so great.
One area where they are meeting or exceeding expectations is the organic/​natural section. It is nice to have all those products in one place. And Evol burritos… like those.
Other than that, the joint is pretty uninspired. I usually eat ready-​made salads (waste of money, I know) and theirs are crap. The whole place makes me feel… not so fresh. The lighting maybe? I don’t know what it is.
