I opted for her to change my color, I paid $ 80 + a tip and what came out was not what I wanted as my hair«pulled dark». I did not hate my color, I just didn’t want such a dark color. So two weeks later I went back and she comp’d me for the color since she«didn’t get it right» the first time. We had a 2pm appointment and she did my fiances cut(he liked it, she does do nice cuts!) and then started my hair at 2:35pm. Before getting started I asked if she had enough time because she mentioned in a text that she had a client coming in at 4. She said it was fine and that she would«work it out». So she bleached my hair(I requested this because I have had a horrible experience with color extractors and NEVER had any odd experiences with bleach. I did ask her prior to my appointment if she was well versed with using bleach vs an extractor as she pushed initially for the extractor and she said she was so that is why I proceeded to allow her to bleach my hair) and used Olaplex to preserve the integrity of my hair, after the bleaching she washed me out and then kept freaking out because apparently my roots were hot, so after she consulted with her coworkers(one just sort of shrugged at her and the other tried to give her some input on going higher vs lower to tone my hair, but then stated«uh, at this point just getting a nice color out of it all would be your best bet» which I found to be rude) she decided to stick me under the dryer — without a towel on my neck and see to her other client who came in for a FULL head of foils. I told my fiancé to go ahead and leave and get something to eat because this looked like at least another hour + before it was all said and done. Now anyone who knows about highlights knows that takes time and precision. I sat for a good 5min with my hair dripping wet down my back and the dryer so hot it almost burned the top of my hair(I myself turned it down twice!) and finally after removing one of the two tops I had on, I asked her coworker for a towel. She was busy w her other client. Finally my was dry and she came over to apply an ash blonde to my roots in hopes that the orange would be dulled down a bit. Another 29min later and I finally was having another washing(her nails were scraping my scalp at every wash and condition, which was MANY!) I finally was able to be blow-dried and saw what was the results before color. It was very orange! I did not notice any change to my roots but assumed the final color would take care of all of my worries. I had been in the salon at that point for about 4 hours. My fiancé came back to see what my hair looked like and was a bit in shock. At this point she was the only one left at the salon. She went into the back of the salon and remained there for a few min, not sure why. I was getting concerned that she just did not have the skills to finish my hair and was worried about the final results but it was clear I was NOT getting what I wanted. Because she was so adamant on getting the first color I picked she did not seem to want to admit defeat and I had to tell her to bring me some swatches to look at. Reluctant she finally took direction and brought me some swatches to match to another photo I had as a back up(I loath having to do that. A pro should know when something is not achievable and when to throw in the towel, not at the expense of a clients hair). She kept saying how she would cry if it came out wrong and I was getting frustrated because it was MY hair, not hers and I seemed to have to pacify the situation and say how it was only hair and I could always change it back. It just seemed ridiculous. Even her other client was asking me what exactly I was trying to do to my hair. I explained how I was going for one color, but she was unable to do that so I picked a different color which is what she was now trying to achieve. The swatches she had gave me was a narrow list to choose from. I picked the most represented color and asked her if she felt it was the right shade to achieve the new color I picked. She agreed and went in the back to mix my color. She also added another color into that(I have no clue what it was) and applied it to my hair. The end result was red/orange. I let her cut my hair, pacified her some more, paid her($ 30 + a $ 30 gift cert, a $ 20 tip and $ 20 for my fiances hair + he tipped her too) and left. It was 8:20pm! After a couple days and many comments from friends & family, I asked her to change it back to brown and she flipped out via txt about how she will just give my money back because I can’t be pleased etc.(which she also posted comments on fb bashing me in) and played the victim! It was a long drawn out drama I never want to experience again. All I wanted was to try and cover up this color. I ended up using toning conditioners to make it not so harsh so I could go out for my bday and not feel crappy. I really wish I had just stuck to getting haircuts from her. I have since booked with another salon.
