I have to say that this was a rather strange experience. When you order your order at the counter you pay at the counter and then they ask you if you would like cash for a tip for your server. I declined as I have some cash in my wallet but you go and sit down and your asked what drink you’d like and any condiments. I don’t get me wrong this is OK but the fountain pickle bar barbecue sauce bar and everything you need are about 5 feet away from your table in my opinion there’s really no need for a waitress in this location or at a restaurant like this since you don’t order at the table or pay at the table… I kind of feel like I would order more food if I didn’t feel I needed to leave a tip or was even ask about that when I’m ordering… The food was average nothing to complain about pretty typical chain barbecue so I get three stars for the food and Question mark on the type of restaurant this is… casual or fast food… to me I would probably be a little more comfortable and just getting my own drink and barbecue sauce and pickles and not having to leave 2 to 3 dollars

Got the Oklahoma platter, with Mac n cheese and onion strings; everything was good except the mac n cheese and the dried out brisket. Friendly service, would come back. Just wouldn’t order the brisket!

Ribs aren’t falling off bone but tender enough and very tasty! The brisket is the same. There are 4 different delicious bbq sauces to choose from. The salad bar is loaded with fresh salad and all sorts of fixings. The waitresses, from the order counter to the dining floor, are very friendly and cheerful and attentive. The place is very clean to include the bathrooms. This place is a winner!

For BBQ it’s not bad… Great customer service! Food was a little pricey for the two rib dinner but we wanted to try it. Spicy sauce it’s much better then the regular!

With a name like Swadley;s its gotta be good — thats what they told us at the hotel— three lady friends ordered different sandwiches & sides(coleslaw OK/////Mac n’Cheese like mom made out of the box///BBQ beans mystery meat bleagh). No wine & beer license – why not??? Now the rub — -I ordered fried okra(lots of spiced fried breading-very little actual), okra{generous portion}), the BBQ beans OK – but the real desire was RIBS – REIBS — I was served three, slathered with sauce, and I added spicy sauce — Ate the first small one & it was a little tangy & tough(hummmmm), started on the second and it was like trying to chew the sole of a boot — also just unusually«tangy” – I spit it out & told the waitress, she called the manager who was sweet & offered a gift certificate(we’re out of town – the meal was barely eaten) she insisted — I showed her that the rib was like rubber & tasted strange, so no thanks — I started vomiting later that night & the by far less pleasant worship of the porcelain God — there were a lot of people there. We’ll see what the restaurant Dept of Health says on Monday — -if it tastes gamey – that joint got no game — –

I really liked this place. It is simple yet delicious. I had their chicken and brisket(thanks Unilocalers for the suggestion) and it was great! Cole slaw was tasty but kinda on the watery side. I was not a fan of their sausage(too wet and mushy) but overall I liked it and will probably be back in the future, though at those calories, probably not too often lol. A good way to indulge your carb cravings.

A little pricey for the standard style BBQ served here. The sauces are generic nothing to special about this place. Just your rub of the mill BBQ joint. The wait time is pretty long over all alright but not the best.

Excellent bbq. My favorite in OKC. Great sauce and very affordable. City boy or country boy sized sandwiches are a ton of food!

I used this location to purchase a custom picnic(pseudo-catering) option for my husband’s birthday. I ordered on a Sunday morning and picked up that afternoon. Thankfully they have a takeout section separate from their restaurant. They were attentive and extremely nice. My order was a big hit at my house. Everyone loved the juiciness of the meat and tasty sides. The sauces were great too. Should I ever need bbq and not feel like cooking, I know where I’m going!

I love Swadleys! It is one of the better BBQ joints in town. Their brisket is very moist and the sauces are amazing. Also, your kids get a free ice cream cone with their meal. I’d recommend this place to anyone in the area who is feeling for a Midwest delight.

Went on the 4th of July. It was busy and later in the day, but everyone was very upbeat and pleasant. The food was great as always. Really made the holiday pleasant. Thanks.

I received excellent customer service from my waiter Alex. I had the chopped brisket and sausage dinner with a side of sweet baked beans and potato salad. The medium sauce was delicious and I really enjoyed the bread and butter pickles. The environment is very clean. Great tasting food!

Staff and management were awesome. The nicest people doing their jobs with care. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich but was surprised that it was not sauced. You have to add your own sauce. I guess I was expecting NC style bbq. The crispy okra was the best. Only thing missing was a little vinegar on the side. The campfire potatoes were tasty. Pass on the Cole slaw and macaroni and cheese though. Free ice«cream» for dessert.

As good or even better than the one in Bethany. Wonderful! Now that Josh is there, it’s even better!

My first time here was the best when I ordered the Oklahoma Sampler($ 15.99)! The chicken was succulent, and the rib meat fell off of the bones! The turkey and sausage were okay, but I was definitely surprised at the chicken. Most of the time it’s too dry! The sides were also great! I had the macaroni and cheese, green beans, and crispy okra. When they say crispy, they mean it! The second time I visited, the chicken was not as succulent as I remembered. I’d only let a month lapse between the visits, so there shouldn’t have been such a wide variation. The chicken was dry and clicked as I chewed. I hate it when that happens! I ordered the crispy okra again(HAD to have!), coleslaw, mashed potatoes, ribs, and a root beer. The sides were delicious again, and they don’t water down the root beer, YAY! I would give 3.5 stars(so round up to 4) for an average, as I’d have given four stars the first time and three the second time. Each time I’ve visited, my meals have cost around $ 25. I’ve never been inside but only gone through the drive-thru. It usually takes about 15 minutes. While this may seem like a long time for a drive-thru, remember this isn’t fast food like McDonald’s. I have been to a drive-thru BBQ place that was faster than Jack in the Box, and their food was horrific! I’m glad Swadley’s takes the time to cook their food, even if it means waiting just a little bit longer!

3.5 stars. Everything was really solid except the brisket was a little dry. The BBQ sauces were very good. I got the ribs! I kind of liked Bedlams BBQ ribs a little better bc they had a strong smoke flavor but these weren’t bad either!

Ate dinner here last night and I was disappointed. The okra was over-cooked, I had to wait quite awhile for BBQ sauce after we received or meal, & My daughters«mashed potatoes» were just that, a potato mashed up w/no flayva! The chopped brisket samich was good tho!

I really love Swadley’s for BBQ and have been here many many times over the years. They have my favorite ribs(well favorite easy to satisfy my cravings without having to take a road trip somewhere). I actually like everything on the menu! Their catfish is really good too, and even the giant prime rib special they’re having. Their service has always been friendly, whether I’m ordering takeout inside, at the drive thru, or dining in. I think the only thing I don’t like is brisket, but I don’t like brisket anywhere.

I really like this place. I wish i lived closer to it so I could enjoy it more often. They have several options for sauce, so you can find the right one for your taste, from spicy to mild, tangy to sweet. We had the pulled pork, which was very good. They are generous with the sides, of which there are LOTS of choices. It is always a treat to have good fried okra. On our last visit, the okra was a little overly crispy, but it was fine the last time. The servers are very attentive with sauces, refills, etc. I like getting a little cup of ice cream at the end of the meal. Nice not to have to order a whole desert when you just need a small bite of something sweet. I’ll definitely return to this place.

Very good local Oklahoma City BBQ place. Service was very good, and the food was much better than expected! You choose your meats, then your sides from a pretty respectable listing. I had juicy roasted white-meat chicken with homemade macaroni and cheese, and fried okra that seemed hand battered. My dad had a special called Mamma’s Meatloaf, which he liked a lot. His green-beans were of the Kentucky Wonder(flat) variety rather than the usual. They had a choice of sauces, and the spicy sauce is well named. I was pleasantly surprised by this outwardly unassuming establishment.
