I went to Demetri’s after a rather horrible experience up the street at Rory’s(see my review). This place has a great location, right across from the beach and Ferry terminal. The décor is inviting and was a joy compared to where I had just come from. I sat down at the bar, which was about 80% occupied, and was immediately greeted. I ordered a gin and tonic, which was a fantastic drink, and ordered a wood-fired flatbread. The flatbread was made right in front of me, as my bar stool was right in front of the pizza oven. When it was cooked, it was whisked back to the kitchen, where it was«dressed» with balsamic and other goodies. The flavor was fantastic! This was a great way to end the night after a rocky start. I will definitely bring my lovely wife here once she’s moved back from NYC.

Great food nice place, I recommend the bacon wrapped dates, unfortunately they have a complete looser Zack Knight working for them, he is scum, do not sit in his section and you will have a great time, I smelt heavy booze on his breath while he served my girlfriend and I, he also kept trying to touch her arm, it was creepy and weird.

We were disappointed… except for the falafel. 4 adults, 3 kids stopped in for lunch, mid-week. The kids were provided with crayons and kids’ menus — so far, so good. However, although the restaurant was definitely not crowded it took nearly 50 minutes for us to get our food(not a good thing when you are out with the under-10’s). The poor waitress had to first tell us that there was a problem with the oven, so flatbreads were not available(which is about a quarter of their menu). Then my son-in-law ordered the chowder, and she had to come back 20 minutes later and tell us the chowder was unavailable. Why it took 20 minutes to let her know something she should have known up front is beyond me. I felt really bad for her. The kids’ chicken fingers were a chicken breast, breaded and sliced into«fingers». They actually looked kinda appetizing. My daughter-in-law said her falafel sandwich was the best thing she’d ever eaten, and she’d never tried falafel before! She’s definitely a falafel convert. Hubby ordered the Buffalo burger, and it was so unappetizing he didn’t finish it. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich without bun and it was«wrapped» in two gigantic leaves of lettuce(which ended up unused on the appetizer plate) and it was so dried out I had trouble choking it down. And the freight train roaring by? Definitely not charming in my book! I’m glad we weren’t sitting outside or our ears would have been blown out! $ 121 and an hour and a half later, we left disappointed. I wish we would have walked a couple blocks up the hill to another place. We will definitely not be back.

We love the location, ie the deck out back in summer with views of the Sound and the ferry. Hubby also inexplicably LOVES when the trains rumble by — and I mean RIGHT by — although I and everyone else out on the deck plugs our ears. The staff is always attentive and helpful, suggesting tapas and drinks. No complaints on the drinks at all, in fact, the bartender made me a very yummy chocolate martini that was not on the menu, and then was kind enough to tell me how he made it. We just wish the tapas were better overall. We’ve found a few pretty good favorites that we stick with, and the prices are OK, but«best tapas» these are not.

We went to Demetri’s for my husband birthday celebration. This place is phenomenal! It was a live music evening and the sound of the guitar was a prefect with ambience and view on Edmonds’ beach and ferries. For start, we ordered a fried calamari and fries. It was a delicious! One plate was enough to share between two of us. We took Double«R» Ranch Steak with grilled asparagus(Signatures dish) as the main dish, as well as Greek salad and Pinot Noir and at the end one serving of chocolate cake. Nice served and yummy! I just would like to be more warm(I like hot), but my husband preferred just like it was. We were served by Shaun Neubauer(I asked for his full name) who was very attentive. He came back to check on us a few times and gladly served the birthday cake with a candle at the end of our dinner. He was, also, amazing in following what was ok for me to eat because of my food allergies. Shaun suggested to accommodate some dishes for me what was amazing :) When we were ready to go home, we talked with the manager Meg Huffman who was so pleasant. She thanked for our visit and wished a happy birthday! Great place with a good price! Definitely pay this place a visit!

One star due to poor service and finding multiple human hairs in our food. When we told the waitress, she did not discount our check at first. Finally, she ended up giving us 10% off each of our respective bills(we paid separately). But still what’s 10% off to MULTIPLEHUMANHAIRS??? We were understanding(perhaps a little too much) and kind throughout the whole situation even though it was not handled properly. The waitress was very impersonal and seemed to act as if we were not going to tip much. When we told her about the multiple hairs we found halfway through our meal, she sassed us and said something along the lines of, «Did you not lose your appetite?»…well yes, we did lose our appetite. That’s why we told her about the hairs we encountered lol. There was no apology from her on behalf of the restaurant about the food(yes, we are aware it was one of the cook’s fault, but it still impacted our dining experience). We’ve both work in the restaurant industry and were prepared to tip very well for good service. We will not be back. Management, please teach your servers how to properly deal with these situations… unless MULTIPLE hairs in your food is a regular and acceptable thing.

I really want to like this place– I mean, I do, the food is good. But service, not so much. Let me tell you: I’ve been here many times and every time order the same tapas.(So I can’t review the actual entrees as much) I get the chicken souvlaki, which is three skewers of chicken. The crab dip, the beef sliders(USED to be three, now only 2??) and occasionally I will get the pear Gorgonzola flatbread. My visits here have only gone down hill. Like I said, the sliders used to come with 3, now only 2, which is a little crazy for a $ 9 tray of sliders only containing a silver dollar sized patty, red onion, and tomato. They are good though. The other things I listed are good as well, but ask for an extra side of crisps for your crab dip! SERVICE: Every time I come here in greeted with an unfriendly hostess. It doesn’t matter what time of day it is either. Inside wait staff has always been okay for me but never anything to write home about. But last night for example, I sat on the patio because that was the only available seating. Well, I would’ve just turned around if I knew any better. 10 minute goes by, still no water. And we see two servers walk by us multiple times to get to other tables… like cmon, at least greet us and say you’ll be by shortly?! So while this is happening, my friend really needs to use the bathroom but is waiting to get a drink, so she doesn’t want to miss the ONE chance the server might stop by if she’s not there to validate it’s her on the ID. So forth, 15 minute goes by and finally our server comes to the table. This is wear I’m absolutely shocked– he looks like he literally is a mix of jersey shore and Bruno(with Sasha baron Cohan) and I’m not even kidding! He has his head completely bald all besides a stupid little square in the complete top center. Like really, it looked like it was receding. And that’s not all, he had it GELLED up so it was spiked up completely. Alone with the weird Mohawk thing he was in jeans, a casual teal button up(which was only buttoned 2⁄3rd of the way, um hello this is Edmonds not LA) and freaking SUNGLASSES! I know we’re on the patio but are you serious? So unprofessional. Plus evry there time I’ve been to this location all wait staff is wearing all black. Anyways my friend orders her lemon drop and it comes about 10 minutes after. On with the food. Everything was just as good as always. I really do enjoy the tapas here. But my sliders– I get halfway through the first, and there’s multiple hairs glued to the bottom… not human hairs, but almost like long stringy strands of stuffing that had been pulled out of a pillow! Lol. But really the strands were obviously on the grill when the burger was put down because they were charred to the bottom of the burger even when I tried pulling them off. Well, that sucked. Waiter goes by multiple times to other tables but never asks if my friend wants another drink. Never refills waters. Eventually comes to bring us the tab, we pay(her with card, me with cash) and about five minutes later he comes back with her tab to sign, and gives me nothing back. Well, I was going to add more money to that«tip» before you just assumed you could keep it, but since you didn’t offer it back, $ 3.45 will be your tip, instead of $ 8.45. Please train your servers. Don’t hire people upon looks and most definitely don’t let your secrets have an unbuttoned shirt and sunglasses while serving. This is EDMONDS, Not LA! LOL.

Demetri’s is located right in front of the shoreline in Edmonds, and also right in front of the train tracks. You can find street parking easily around the corner on 3rd, Main St, or across from the ferry line and against the fencing. Note that trains run almost every 20 – 30 minutes during happy hour here so you may want indoor seating if the noise bothers you. It can also be cooler and windy in the late afternoon/early evening. There are fire pits to warm you up, but be careful, as they will warm your water glass and this may cause you to drop it like it’s hot during your meal! If you are a person who gets cold easily, I would suggest eating inside. You can’t argue with the beautiful ambiance inside! As for the food — everything is prepared with immaculate attention to detail. I had the garden salad, firecracker shrimp, artichoke bottoms with dungeness crab, and sweet potato fries with serrano aioli. Altogether they were a perfect way to warm up on a chilly April afternoon happy hour. The artichoke bottoms were unique — a first for me! And I was wholly impressed — delicious! For dessert we had the Mexican donuts — churro flavor in the rounds with a melt in your mouth caramel dipping sauce. Service was very good and our water glasses were never empty. Of all the places I have been to in the downtown Edmonds area, this bar far is my favorite. I look forward to visiting again in the future!

I have been here a few times! I love the set up of this place and the style they took. The food is pretty good here and the drinks are also awesome! They have a full size bar and a lot to offer. The service has always been pretty good! Sometime’s they close a little early so you should never end a night here unless you go to bed at midnight :)

Nice place next to the ferry dock in the best little town in Washington. A few problems. Beef Medallions were ordered«medium rare» arrived«medium» Wife hates over cooked meat but would not allow me to return it. Bacon Chowder was OK, needed salt. No salt was available. Side of sweet potato fries and the sauce was very good, but their just fries. Caesar salad was warm and wilted. Presentation was very good. Maybe the lunch chefs are just the«B» team Server was nice.

I, too, am confused about the low ratings. I’ve also been here twice and had great experiences both times. The first time, we put a rush on the order 10 minutes after ordering and realizing we may miss our ferry. Guess what, the food was in our to-go bag with the check paid within the following 15 minutes AND we got to our ferry on time. I had a breakfast pizza that dazzled the taste buds and eyes(seriously, 5 people commented on how delicious it looked, and how hungry it made them). This most recent visit is far more sentimental. My grandmother passed this morning, and I wasn’t sure how to go about my day. My boyfriend helped me through my gloom into this restaurant because food makes me feel better, and it features a GLUTEN-FREEMENU. We were seated quickly with view of the beach and ferry dock, and given 15 minutes to decide on our dishes, and another 5 after requesting the gluten free menu. Our server Vita was either faking it like a pro, or genuinely one of the most bubbly, friendly and happy-go-lucky waitresses I’ve ever met. Well, if my boyfriend ever reviews his experience here, he may reference Office space flare guy, but to me she was absolutely adorable! Props to this gal manning the tables and bar with all of that good energy! Enough about her, ahem. I’ve never had tarter sauce with sweet potato fries before, but let me tell you when we return, it will be the first thing I order. I have also never had mussels in tomato sauce before(I prefer white wine and buttery garlic), but the sauce, sausages, olives and spices gave the mussels a kick I look forward to trying again! They were both very unique dishes with unexpected combinations of flavors, and two examples of how trying new things can be enjoyable. I don’t believe I mentioned I was wearing a hoodie with jeans, and my boyfriend was wearing something similar. What I enjoyed most about this experience is that the ambiance of this restaurant doesn’t appear disturbed by this slovenly dressed grieving customer. All in all, I felt very welcomed and comfortable. TIP1: The gluten free menu has mussels, and the regular menu doesn’t!!! TIP2: Some of the tapas items are enough for one meal, and if you pair a meal-like tapas plate with a cup of soup, your bill will be at or under $ 20 (I recommend the bacon, cheddar and ham chowder. Yes, you read that correctly and it’s delicious). Thank you for your service today. You’ve helped this grieving woman smile a little bit today.

I don’t know why this place has a cumulative low rating. I’ve been here twice and I think it’s a true neighborhood gem! The first time was in the middle of last summer– they had a great happy hour in the middle of the day. Demetri’s has an AMAZING selection for vegetarians. I opted for the(delicious!) red sangria and the cauliflower tapas along with some Greek fries. The boyfriend and I enjoyed our meal on their sunny waterfront patio– you can’t beat the location! As a Lynnwood/Edmonds native, I happen to enjoy the train passing by. The second time was for Valentines Day, and I was so impressed with the friendliness and level-headedness of the staff. It was packed inside and they kept things moving seamlessly. We got the cheese plate, which can had a nice selection of flavors. I had the vegetarian lasagna– would have preferred a little more herby flavor, but it was yummy nonetheless and a perfect portion size.

Keeping my review at 3 stars but updating my pros/cons Pros: Literally right next to the ferry dock, so very convenient. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We took an incredibly long time to order and they were patient and friendly. Like the Greek inspired tapas and variety. They have a very large menu but seem to still deliver in the flavor department, which is impressive. I’ve enjoyed the spicey prawn tapas and the grilled cod fish tacos since my initial visit. Served local wines. Cons: Incredibly loud when the windows are open/Friday night crowd. The loud music, the train, the traffic and the dining room noise were a bit out of control. Not the place to come if you’re looking for a relaxed chat.

We were seated right away, good table. Our waiter was a bit unprofessional, shirt half untucked, zipper on pants half unzipped, telling us too much about what was happening behind the scenes. Told us why things were taking so long to come out. Made me think there are bigger issues there… The food portions were very small for the price. The food tasted ok, not fantastic but ok. The saving grace was the view of the sunset as we eat our dinner.

Got treated here for dinner during my trip to Washington. Going to keep this short and simple, just like my visit! PROS: –they got craft beer! –CUATROSLIDERS from their list of tapas –four different sliders were sooo good, especially the LAMB on the focaccia bread mmmmm –good looking restaurant CONS: –One of my true cons was their Dungeness Crab Dip appetizer, which has crab, artichoke, and cheese. It was honestly DELICIOUS. One of the BEST dips I’ve ever had, but the portion was so small! The«bowl» was only about a couple inches in length and only about 1 inch deep. As a starter, I expected it to be big enough to share, especially it being $ 12…but it was gone in minutes. I’m sure we can order two and still want more. Another con is just the price… tad bit expensive for my budget, personally. Most tapas and signature dishes are about $ 12 to almost $ 30! Shout out to my sisters fam for treating us :) Side notes: –has a small play area for your kids! Has toys and a chalkboard wall –near the water; came in during dinner but I’m sure the view looks nice during the day –right by a train I think? Next to the outdoor patio. Not sure if it’s a good or bad thing to have that drive by you –no complaints about service, good and average

Finding a place for brunch on a game day after kickoff is a challenge but we got seated here without a problem. Water view in a tourist type area can be a recipe for poor service and food but we were more than pleased with our choice. Service, presentation, quantity and quality all get top grades.

«Excellent dish presentation, delicious tapas, good ambience, however lacks the service.» We have passed by Demetri’s numerous times on the way to the Edmonds waterfront. We were able to finally take the opportunity to try out the place that has been voted by Evening Magazine Best of Northwest as «Best Tapas.» The restaurant was packed. Though there are available seats on the terrace, the close proximity of the passing freight trains, ferry dock, and low temperature may cause a challenge in enjoying our meals. The wait time was approximately 15 minutes. There is a comfortable seating area The menu had a variety of Mediterranean/Spanish Tapas. We ordered the Tasting Tapas Tabla, Steak Frites, Rosé, and Sangria. The Tasting Tapas –nicely presented on individual dishes set on a wooden block. The chicken Empanada was flavorful and the crust was crispy. The micro greens and queso fresco was a nice touch. The beef medallion was tender and cooked as requested(medium rare). The lamb chop was served with chermoula/yogurt and provided a complex and rich flavor. The seasonal salmon with mango salsa and tiger prawn was an excellent combination. The salmon was perfect cooked and flaky, the prawn was well-seasoned and the mango salsa added a unique tanginess to the seafood. Steak Frites — was not exactly cooked as requested. We had ordered medium rare and found some parts were more on the blue rare side. The asparagus was a bit salty and the fries were a little soggy. Sangria — very generous serving and reasonable priced. Table Service — we had requested for more water during the meal and the server never came back. It also took some time to order our meal. This is a good place for a nice tapas meal, however service and promptness may turn some patrons away.

We came here for drinks and a snack only as I already had dinner. The décor and ambience was definitely something I liked. We sat outside as it was a nice evening and the view of the water was awesome! They had heaters and provided blankets as well. The only thing about sitting outside is that you will experience the trains as the restaurant is next to the tracks. I didn’t really mind it, but just be aware that it is a little loud. I ordered the bacon wrapped dates and a Sculpin Grapefruit IPA. The bacon wrapped dates were really good, but I still thought the prosciutto wrapped dates from Ocho in Ballard were better. The staff was really nice and the menu looked awesome so I definitely want to come back to try some of there other dishes!

This restaurant appears to be a nice place to sit on the patio for happy hour… except that the patio is 20 feet away from the train tracks. Basically it gets uncomfortably loud, gusty, smelly, and shaky when the train comes basting by… maybe every 30 minutes… idk we defiantly didn’t stick around long. We were there for about 45 minutes and we got to experience the train twice. They happy hour mean seemed good, with a nice variety of choices. We ordered three happy hour appetizers; Grilled Brussels Sprouts, mussels in a brava sauce, and some sliders. I wasn’t overly impressed with the flavors of any dish but no major complaints. I was surprised to see that the mussels in brava was actually half clams/half mussels. This wasn’t a problem but I don’t like surprises when it comes to my food and I would have preferred if that was described on the menu. Wait staff was friendly but we probably won’t visit again just based on the train situation. I think I would be less bothered by the train if the restaurant was more casual, divy, and less expensive. It’s not an appropriate location for a nice dining experience.

One of my favorite places in Edmonds still. I’ve found out I’m Gluten intolerant and hadn’t been for a few months. Went last night and the server pointed out a lot I could have still, even fish and chips because of their gluten free fry batter. Was happy to be able to have s great assortment of things. They had great live music there too that night.
