A friend of mine had a birthday party for her husband yesterday so she ordered from Konefal’s off-site catering menu. She ordered pierogies, stuffed shells, piggies, stuffed chicken and stuffing. She had leftovers but not because we didn’t eat at party … Believe me everyone tried to cram their face with the food because it was delicious … The portions were supersized… Pierogies and piggies as big as pie plates… The biggest guy at the party could only finish 5 pierogies … THESTAROFTHEPARTYUNFORTUNATELYWASN’T THEBIRTHDAYBOYTHATTITLEBELONGEDTOTHEPIEROGIES !!! The stuffed chicken was done so well that it practically fell off of the bone. The stuffed shells were completely packed with cheese and covered with a sweet sauce. They didn’t leak out and the shells didn’t break like at some places. The stuffing was moist and tasty. The cole slaw and potato salad were good, they were the normal fare you would receive anywhere elsenothing to make them stand out. I personally can’t speak to the piggies because I didn’t have any(not enough room in my stomach); however, other party guests raved about them.

I recently attended an event catered by Kronefal’s at the Kronefal’s Grove. I was disappointed in the level of cleanliness of the food prep area and should have trusted my instinct. Shortly after leaving I came down with food poisoning. Their simple American comfort food may taste good but be aware of the hygienics and be careful what you eat.

Homemade food, family owned, awesome NEPA-ethnic fare. Pierogies, potato pancakes, etc. I’ve never eaten at the restaurant, but I’ve had a few meals that they’ve catered and they were excellent.

I’ve had some very nice meals here with family and friends; the food is consistently delicious, with reasonable prices and friendly service. But I have to admit, when I visit Wyoming Valley(I grew up in Swoyersville), I absolutely MUST get a few dozen sweet rolls to take home. These rolls are insanely wonderful: fresh, doughy, puffy, yeasty, with a hint of sweetness. How I love them! They freeze beautifully too. My family insists on them at Christmas. And by the way, the cole slaw is the best I’ve ever had. Chopped more finely than most, sweet and extra creamy. Now that I think about it, I should have given Konefal’s 5 stars!
