Monique is a very cool manager and very friendly person. Good selection of new and also used CD/DVDs. They really need more Rock/Metal of the progressive type if I have any complaint and the few they have are overpriced.

The store prices are okay, but the selection for blue ray is still lacking.

I was really disappointed in the selection in this fye. While I know country and christian music may not be the most popular, their selection in those genres was pathetic. ESPECIALLY country. There was no Luke Bryan to be found. This store was pretty junky. It just seems like stores like this are starting to drop off with the rise of digital downloads. One thing I have always liked about any fye is their selection of TV on DVD.

I think a lot of us forget about stores like this that specialize in selling music & movies… but this particular FYE has always held a special place in my heart. The staff is helpful & friendly + they’ve got a great selection of media, fan apparel & other goodies! Last year, I was trying to hunt down a DVD copy of Disney’s Mulan as a birthday gift for my baby sister. I had about two weeks to shop around for it. I assumed that it would be a pretty easy task, and honestly, I was just relieved I had thought of something she would absolutely love. «Getting it would be the easy part now that I thought of what to get her,» I naively thought to myself. Boy, was I wrong. Since I had time, I thought I’d check some online retailers first, since it would save me some time and I could get it shipped straight to me. I found one or two used copies for about $ 30. I had no luck finding any new Mulan DVDs on those websites nor at Target/Walmart/Costco. I couldn’t even get ahold of one from the Disney store! Soon, I found myself getting a little nervous. I had a week left. I headed over to Kobey’s swap meet to attempt to get ahold of a used copy. Yes, I was that desperate. No luck. I checked every little bin and tent! What to do, what to do? Finally, I remembered FYE. I called them and was told that they had 1 used copy. I think it was around $ 19.99? FYESAVEDME! I was so grateful they had it, especially after all the hunting around I had done. The copy was used, but in pretty good condition, considering how many years it has been released, and no new editions have surfaced since then. This store has rare gems like that, and is pretty well-stocked in the newest music/movies as well. PLUS– the staff is so friendly and always do their best to help you. I called in last Friday looking for a life-size, cardboard cutout of a One Direction band member to give to a twelve-year-old(I swear she exists, you gotta believe me). I was a little clueless when I called. The particular boy that she’s infatuated with had a name that started with an «L» and that’s all I knew. I asked the sales associate if she had any of the cutouts. She said yes, and asked me which one I was looking for. Uh oh. Ummm… I only know his name started with an «L.» She asked me to describe what he looked like. He’s white, has fluffy hair, pretty good-looking, tall, and skinny? She told me she was only able to eliminate the Indian guy. Eventually, I remembered that his name was Louis and, simultaneously, she realized each boy’s name was on the label. She told me it was $ 35 ea. and they had a few in stock. I arrived a few hours later and was greeted and helped. I explained very clearly that the life-size boy band member was not for me, but rather for a little girl. They nodded, and they appeared to believe me. I value that. The older gentleman showed me some new products they just got in and I ended up getting a pack of 1D socks for her as well. Everyone was so friendly and I felt really comfortable purchasing Louis from them. The only con is that they didn’t have a plastic bag big enough for Louis and I had to carry Louis through the mall & parking lot, in full view. Noooooooooo! I can either carry him across his chest or be groping his backside. Great. Needless to say, I fastwalked like a Tasmanian devil(think of me as Looney Tunes’ Taz, except fully clothed & less hairy) but on the plus side, I got all my cardio done for the day because of it. #winning
