I am giving this restaurant a one star due to many reasons. Although the food is good, but these people tired to steal from us. We had made a reservation with this restaurant for a special event for about 21 people. The waitress, Najla, said that they will be serving for kids chicken nuggets and fires. As for adults, there will be a plate with rice, Beef Kabob, and Chicken Takka. Also, she said that there will be plenty of different salads. of As a result, the kids did not get the food that was reserved for them, and there was no enough salads for people to eat. Their service is absolutely terrible and the waitress, Najla, charged $ 16 more besides the bill for no reason. Our guests left the restaurant upset because of the bad service specifically for the kids, we waited for a long time until the food had arrived and the kids were left to be the last to get their food. Najla said that our guests will be leaving the restaurant happy. However, it turned out to be the opposite. We spent so much money and the experience in this restaurant is extremely terrible.

I hate putting up bad reviews but first impressions are kind of a big deal. I read the reviews which motivated me to place an order here. Well the best service I got was over the phone. I came down to pick up the order, walked in and no customers on a Friday late afternoon. There was a guy sitting at one of the tables doing paperwork, gave him the ol’ how ya doin’ nod. Nothing back from him but dirty looks like I did something to him, uh ok I guess I’ll move on. Did the same to the chef, same look just a little lifeless. Wow ok, then a guy who works there was talking to the cashier with his back to me turns around and looks me up n down, like back off. Fool I’m 10 ft away from you. Finally the cashier is ready for me after a few minutes when she’s done with the guy. Then I paid and got the hell out of here. I give 2 stars because at the least the food tasted pretty healthy(dry but healthy). My wife got the lamb which tasted exactly like steak, nothing like lamb. I’m done here. I won’t come back. Didn’t feel very welcomed here.

Love this place! I’ve been here 4 times now and they have been consistently delicious and on point with their flavors, every time! I’ve tried their Salmon plate, Kabob plates, and salads. Their bread is baked fresh in their stone oven. They have great customer service. Highly recommend!

Saray has really good Adana(spicy ground meat skewer) and Beyazpeynirli(pita with feta cheese). I almost got addicted lately, and drive 50 total miles to eat their kebabs. The prices are very affordable too.

Great food great people. Everything I have had has been great. If I had to chose it would be between the Barg Kabob and the salmon kabob!

This place was recommended to me by a friend. I live in the area and had never noticed them. I had the chicken kabob dinner. The rice and chicken was very good. The yogurt sauce is mentioned in other Reviews as great but its not my liking. So thats a personal preference. I am sure i will be back soon

This is the real deal. Best lentil soup I’ve ever had. The restaurant itself is a no frill joint, staff is down to the point, no formalities. The food! Their yogurt dip is amazing and comes with many dishes. The rice is even exceptional. The chicken wrap was the size of two burritos for $ 9 and comes with a side! And all of their bread is fresh out the oven!!! I’m all in for the food and the affordability.

Adana Plate $ 8 and worth it. The beef was cooked to perfection. Very flavorful and moist. I loved the yogurt and salad that it came with, it added a kick to the plate. I love grilled tomatoes with the rice. Very healthy and satisfying meal. Don’t forget the seasoning when your order to go!

The owner called to apologize . The waitresses got fired and no longer work there Her name is Riva. The reason for 3 stars is they«didn’t keep the slip i signd that Riva added $ 19 to the tip and they don’t know her last name bc she work there for only a week or 2 lol TIP: great food pay cash !

Has a great dinner last night! We devoured our hummus and baba ganoush! The plates were both loaded with veggies and rice. The menu showed more meat than it actuallu comes with, but thats to be expected. The service could be a bit more attentive, and please, never scold an employee in front of customers. Time and place for everything gentlemen.

I have been to Saray many times because of the food! The food is amazing! I love coming in large groups just to order everything(literally everything) and sharing. This way you get a taste of the whole menu. The yogurt dip comes with almost every entrée but I always order it as an appetizer as well because it is just that good! Only con is that the service is not 100%. Sometimes I have noticed the waiter forgot to ask if we wanted anything to drink or notice that we may need refills on our drinks. You really won’t have anyone come up to you to ask if you need anything so make sure to ask for everything before they walk away from you.

I have been to Saray 4 times now, and have ordered the falafel, hummus, chicken, and gyro plate. The falafel is delicious, and the serving size of the hummus is generous. The flatbread pita that comes with the hummus is freshly baked. When I ordered the chicken, the portion size(although not super cheap) was generous, and the flavor was delicious. They also let me substitute cucumber salad in place of the rice. When I had the gyro plate, I didn’t love it. I think because the meat shavings were smaller, and possibly didn’t maintain the flavor as well. I would try it again, but I think the pieces should be a little thicker versus the size in the photo that I posted. Thank you

I’ve heard nothing but good things about this place, so I figured that I have to try it. I came in for my first time today and the place was empty. I ordered the iskander plate and really enjoyed the quality of the meat, but was saddened that my expectations were much higher than the actual food. Maybe I came into this place and ordered the wrong item, who knows? I don’t really have anything negative to say about this place other than it did not meet my high expectations that were given to me by others. I will have to definitely come back and try this place again and order other items to taste. Moderately priced as well. Good potential!

The most authentic middle eastern restaurant in the entire east county. Try some marinated beef and lamb along with the fresh made bread. :)

Hands down my new favorite Middle Eastern joint! I try so many places like these living such close proximity to El Cajon but this place takes the cake. Its super cheap and food is ALWAYS good. The bread comes piping hot from the kitchen, it almost burns you every time. Thats how you know this shits fresh! The chicken kabob is the most tender chicken you will probably ever taste. I have no clue how they get White meat to be that tender!!! Def try the salad sampler its only 5 bucks and its well worth it to eat with the bread. Service is Ok, no complaints because its usually only 1 lady working doing everything. The food is whats keeping me coming back again and again

I was really craving some Mediterranean food and off to Unilocal I searched. We decided to check out Saray and I’m glad I did! Ironically, I can’t stand lamb meat but I love gyros and donor meat. Saray is located in a small plaza next to pepboys with plenty of parking. The restaurant was half full and there was one waitress attending to all tables. She was really nice and friendly. Saray is a no frills kind of place but they make an effort to make it more of an upscale, fast food experience. You can also watch your fresh lavash bread get toasted in their oven. Ok, onto the food! We ordered the donor wrap which comes with yogurt inside and your choice of fries, salad or rice. I chose rice. We also ordered the lamb kebab which came with a full side of yogurt. As an app, we tried the lavish bread with fresh hummus and it was bomb. Gone are the days where I buy hummus out of a container at the store. Must try the fresh hummus with the larger than life, can barely fit on your plate lavish bread. It’s amaze. Looking back, we could’ve shared the donor wrap and hummus. The donor wrap was huge and could feed two people, with an app on the side to supplement. Overall, good service with fresh delicious food. I will definitely come back.

I’m not very adventurous when it comes to food — I’m very much a «plain Jane»(I only put ketchup on my hot dogs, only mustard on my soft pretzels… Catch my drift?) so it’s no surprise that I ordered a chicken kabob, a side of rice, and hummus. My sister ordered a doner wrap, and my bro-in-law ordered the doner plate. The hummus was delicious and was served with a giant, piping hot flat bread that I watched come out of a pizza oven. It was amazing. The rice was great, and the chicken… The chicken! Moist. Juicy. Tender. Well-seasoned. Incredible. The portions are generous and everything is priced decently. It was a little on the busy side — there was one waitress and one huge party of about 20 people, but overall, great food and great service!
