Big 5 Sporting Goods

Like other Big 5’s this location is alright they do have a lot sports equipment, running gear, guns and ammo and so much more. My biggest problem with Big 5 is that they are so expensive on ammo and you can pay half the price at Walmart.
The employees are very helpful and friendly and will go out of their way to help you. Or at least the employee that was helping me was. I try not to come here that much but a lot of times Big 5 does have some pretty good deals.

We’re regular customets at Big 5 and have generally good shopping experiences in San Diego area stores. Last night we needed to shop at the El Centro store. We were there for almost an hour since my wife was trying on different sports clothes. During that time I walked around the different area. I expected to be greeted by the staff with at least a «are you finding everything alright?» comment. Never happened. Upon checking out the cashier was curt and never once showed any type of customet service training. Disappointing. We made it a point to say thank you and still she mumbled an aha. Not a fan of this store. We were late otherwise I would have mentioned this to the manager. I will next time.

I can usually find what I need for my kids sporting activities here and at affordable prices although the selection can be picked over at times, so I try so buy what we need early in the season to make sure they have what we need on the shelf and we get the correct sizes.
Parking on the other hand can be a BIG issue with all the other stores in the very small lot they have so sometimes you may have to park out on the street on the Imperial Stores parking lot which is annoying not to mention it’s over 100 degrees outside.

Seems silly to me to review a common sporting goods store but in the Imperial Valley, where customer service is like Big Foot (only a few people claim to have seen it and you have a hard time believing them), this place has proven time and time again to actually give a sh!@. Staff over the years has helped me quite a bit, especially with the softball stuff. I’ve noticed the staff has changed a little over the years so I’m assuming the management is doing something right. What makes me happiest about this place is that no one (as far as I can tell) has ever b.s.‘d me, instead, if an answer to a question is unknown people actually say «I don’t know, let me find out» and then you see the person actually go around to other employees in the store and ask, until they get a better answer. Its awesome! My favorite place to shop. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
