Great place in a remote location for a quick lunch. The place has a new executive chef in place and he is doing interesting things with the food. Never had a bad meal since I started a few months ago. The place welcomes«brown bagger’s» that would like to get out of the office and have a place for lunch. Worth a try if you work in the local area.

I guess it depends on what day and what cashier is working cause everyday is a different price, Today they wanted to charge me nearly $ 7 bucks for a baked potato with cheese and sour cream… are u serious…

Everytime I visit 5220 café the food is real good and the staff very friendly especially on the entrée side the soups are fresh and very good especially the posole and the chicken tortilla soup. They have 20 items to choose from the salad bar if you’re in a rush they also have grab n go sandwiches and fresh pizza. They also have a big sitting room with TVs but its not a sports bar. If you’re in the neighborhood give it a try they also offer outside catering very convenient.

Café 5220 originated as an employee cafeteria for a private business at 5220 Robert J Mathews, but opened its doors to the public a couple years ago. Operated by Treat America, this café/restaurant is a close and convenient food stop for anyone working in the neighboring business park. The Good: Convenience. Depending on your location, it’s either a short walking distance within the building where the café is located or across the parking lot from other buildings in the complex. Friendly staff. Everyone has to get an A for effort. The Bad Food quality has dropped over the years and there is a lack of fresh and healthy choices. Some items such as the steam-table hash browns are inedible. However, custom-made items such as omelets are well-made and a safe choice. The quality and choice at the salad bar is very lacking. Prices are comparatively higher that other similar venues when considering overall food quality. At times, a customer here will feel nickel and dimed at the checkout register. One might argue, though, that the convenient location warrants the higher price. Overall cleanliness of food handlers’ uniforms. At times uniforms are not clean from food prep activities and it’s distracting. Seating Area Adjacent to the café is a large seating area that can be crowded during some parts of the day. Unfortunately, TVs are sometimes way too loud and are only tuned to FOX News. There is an outside courtyard that is pleasant on days that the weather permits outdoor dining. Bottom line: if you want convenience and are not worried about price or food quality, eat here. But if either of these matter to you, try brown-bagging or make the trek into El Dorado Hills or Folsom.
