Pamela Hayes Classical Ballet

Pamela Hayes Ballet is exceptional ballet training. My daughter has been with Pam for 3 years after trying 3 other studios in the area and looking for real classical ballet training. Growing up as a competitive ice skater, I trained in ballet and bar work is an important part of training.
I couldn’t understand when my daughter was at previous studios, why no one is teaching an adequate amount of bar work and the dancers are allowed to have sloppy technique which includes moving up to point shoes when they have not developed sufficient muscle control.
When I called Pamela Hayes Ballet, she answered the phone! Knowing that Pamela herself danced with the Royal Ballet, I was surprised and impressed with her attention and thoughtful conversation about placing my daughter in her school.
Unlike other dance studios, Pam had my daughter come in to try different levels of classes to see where would be the best fit for her. There was no rush. When I sat in to watch the classes I almost teared up at the exquisite bar work that took up (as it should) over half of the class.
In 3 years, my daughter has not only developed in mind and body under Pam’s impeccable eye for detail, but she has also blossomed by the warm community Pam and the mother’s create for the girls, that is supportive of each and every girls’ strengths as dancers.
Every year the dancers perform in 2 exceptional level performances at The Harris Center. These are not recitals in which you are charged for every «number» your child is in as well as purchasing multiple costumes for. These are beautiful productions in which your child will wear costumes Pam has designed by her multi– talented wardrobe mistresses. The performances live up to Pamela’s vision of dancers of all levels performing with semi– professional dancers who come back to dance in Pam’s productions, even once they are in college.
The love of dance and work ethic our daughter is learning is a lifelong quality that I know from personal experience will get her through meeting her goals for college and life.
If you are serious about your child taking the best possible ballet training in the area, do not waste your time or money going anywhere other than Pamela Hayes.

Pamela Hayes was a professional ballet dancer who trained at the Royal Ballet who also had a successful career in classical ballet. Ms. Pam provides an excellent and professional classical ballet education for aspiring dancers

Great studio for older children. Not so much for 3 year olds. The class before the evening 3 year old class always gets out late, so parents are left with already tired and fussy little ones. Once the little ones get into class it’s wonderful. But then class ends on time; essentially cutting the lesson time down. Not really fair when parents are paying for a full lesson. When I left a message regarding why we left this studio for the above reasons, no one called back. I was disappointed with the lack of follow up.

Pamela Hayes is a ballet studio that is about quality, not quantity. Their philosophy really concentrates on teaching what is anatomically correct, not just what looks good. You can just see that they really care about the art form, and their dancers a lot. It’s a great place that my daughters enjoy, and feel like they are getting professional training that can take them as far as they want to go in the world of ballet.
