I was alone and sat at the bar for my food. The margarita machine was as loud as a semi and bartender or manager didn’t seem to care. Food couldn’t make up for it

My husband and I stopped here on a Sunday afternoon and we absolutely loved it. We came between 11 and 3 so there was a $ 10 beer and burger special as well and $ 2.50 mimosas. The Black and Bleu burger was amazing and the Angry Owl Burger was also. We loved it, and recommend if you go, ask for DJ The waiter. He’s amazing, friendly and attentive!

We went here thinking this would be cool and were very unimpressed! The hamburger was overcooked, and the beer was a little pricey. Go to Independent Burger instead where everything is great!

I had the spicy turkey sandwich with the green chile mashed potatoes. Both were absolutely delicious. This was also my second time here. I visited with 3 coworkers and they all ordered different sandwiches that looked amazing and according to them also tasted great. We all agreed that we will return soon.

Great burgers and beer selection! We went in for lunch on a Saturday and took advantage of the awesome happy hour deals. A burger and pint for $ 10. Can’t beat that!

I really like the way they incorporate southwestern flavors into American food. The service was exceptional. My family and I enjoyed it here

I’ve been to Angry Owl 4 or 5 times now and I still don’t really know how to describe it. When I take friends for the first time, I explain that it’s kind of like an El Paso Applebee’s or Chili’s…but better. The menu has some nods to former El Paso franchises like Jaxon’s, and there is something for everyone. My favorite is the Ahi Tuna Sandwhich, which is like eating sushi in a bun with the ginger and wasabi they throw in. Their fajitas, burgers, and BBQ are also solid. For the drinker, they have a large selection of taps, and they also have a full bar with lots of specialty drink and margaritas. The bar area itself is a great place to watch a sporting event with a plethora of large TVs everywhere. Truth be told, this place isn’t going to knock your socks off, but the menu has something for everyone, the food always hits the spot, and to be honest I’m just happy that it appears something is finally going to survive in this location after years of turnover.

Came in for a late lunch and received EXCELLENT service by D.J.; the owl wings were scrumptious as was the chimichanga. They have specials throughout the week and best of they are locally-owned. Great food, great service, a must visit and a definite return!

This place is really huge! I never went to Jackson’s or Good Coffee before it was Angry Owl but i was surprised at the sheer size of it. Inside the décor is pretty standard i would say. I don’t really see an owl theme or whatever its supposed to stand for. Menu is pretty huge with a lot of choices. Some i was confused about which i didn’t think i would order from a place like this. What i did like was the custom names they have for their menu items and how the servers and bartenders are all matching uniforms. The servers are really nice too and more than one asked how we were doing throughout the night. The appetizer fries we ordered were really good and spicy. My green chili sandwich on rye looked and smelled really delicious and it was, but when you order marble rye bread you expect some sort of crunchiness to it and my sandwich was completely soggy by the time i received it. It ended up being a fork and knife meal. I ordered a Purple Haze beer which tasted flat and warm to me so i’m sure not too many people order beers like that here. Maybe next time i will be more inclined to eat from the kids menu cause the chicken strips with fries looked really good.

I’m big on making sure that when service is very much on point and satisfaction is exceeding expectations to compliment a place of business and server/kitchen staff. Angry Owl be assured I will be back with my family/friends and will spread the word to let others know too. Great food and service today for our crazy group of ladies bravo!

My family and I all went to have dinner. A group of 19 adults and two kids. The food was good and the service was amazing. The tip was already on included on the bill but all of us still tipped more. I would like to suggest to try all of the desserts, OMG they were a party in my mouth.

Meh. The food is average. They have an ok ambiance. The bar looks nice. The service is decent. The only problem is the prices are too high for the quality you get. We went in a large party and sat upstairs. I got a chance to taste a myriad of appetizers and about 4 different dishes from a burger to a steak and I really was not impressed by any of it. Personally my steak was overcooked, low quality and cold. Even the desert was just average. This is typical bar food with nothing new to add.

This place is pretty good, especially if you need a couple drinks, wanna watch the game and need to get some grub too. I’ve had the ahi tuna sandwich with sweet potato fries, which was quite good, and the New York strip with green chile mashed potatoes.(You need to try the green chile mashed potatoes!) I’ve had their margaritas too and they are pretty tasty. I’ll be back here for a quick lunch or during baseball season ;)

Beware depending on the color of your skin. My family and I went after church. The host seated us all the way in the back, we were the only family seating there. After taking my daughter to the bathroom, I noticed there was another seating area filled with other people, mostly white and no blacks. when I got back to the table, I asked my husband if we could leave. It was odd that my family was seated way in the back. Even the waiters were acting strange. I guess they never seen black people before. It’s so sad.

Dude & dudettes, I have traveled all over the world searching for the best green chile burger. This joint, by far exceeds anything I have tasted! Great service, great atmosphere. Another secret to this once is the mashed potatoes worth green chile– a must try. I will definitely come back here when I return to El Paso. The beer selection is adequate and satisfying, cold and tasty. The bartender, Westin, was responsive and accurate on my complicated order. I changed a couple of items and he got it right! Perfect

Sitting in their lobby after lunch. I knew knew knew we should have gone somewhere else. Wife got the shrimp and pineapple skewers… they had nothing else on the menu(besides lettuce) that was gluten free. We actually both were wanting soup, but for whatever reason they have gluten in all three soups on the menu. Bummer. Anyway, she ordered the shrimp, skewered two ways: 1) Blackened 2) Honey/BBQ. Served warmish(emphasis on the –ISH), on a bed of white rice(because white rice is what everyone wants to go with their shrimp, right?!). Eight shrimp total and a side skewer of bell peppers, onions and two teeny, tiny pieces of pineapple. The side of mashed potatoes with hatch chili’s definitely not forgettable… too spicy for her, mild for me, but not something either of us would have ordered. I get Southwestern, but it was a bit much. 15.00 for somewhat edible shrimp and two(SMALL) pieces of pineapple… the rest was inedible/undesired. The Mojado sandwich. Wow. Description sounds good! Au jus cold, as was the sandwich… and the sweet potato fries too. My hand is bigger than the sandwich altogether, and by that I mean I was expecting lots o’ meat and yummy stuff. 11.00? Damn it! Beer was ok, service was good. 50 bucks I will never see again, kinda like me sitting here.

As always, I really wish I could leave half stars. I would leave 4.5 for the angry owl. Remember when ready my reviews and star ratings, its not about cost, its all about VALUE. When walking into the restaurant I really didn’t know what to expect. I came in with an open mind. Starting with the atmosphere, its just«okay». It is not uncomfortable or extremely inviting, its just okay. They could tone down a little of the owls, they are every where. On to the food and service. We were greeted very quickly by a very nice waiter. Informed us of some house specialty and brought our drinks quickly. We started with the Nachorrones. Let me first say, I hate pork rinds, seriously hate them. So I’m sure you are asking why order? A couple people at the table loved them. I figured why not, I’ll give them a shot, omg glad I did. The cheese with the fresh pico and a wonderful fusion with the rinds. I ended up eating ¼ of the app. The only complaint and caution is that some are extremely crunchy and hard. Like chip a tooth hard so be careful. Moving to the entrée, I had the El Chuco chicken sandwich with beer battered fries. I love hot foods and saw they had ghost pepper cheese. Decided, LETSDOIT. The chicken was juicy and cooked just right. Piled high with hatch green chilies(so yummy) and my ghost cheese. I was so excited I forgot to take a picture until after I dug in. Let me tell you, the cheese is HOT. It has excellent flavor but hot, so watch out. I would have no problem ordering this dish again Overall it was a great experience and make sure to check in because there is a 10% off! On the value scale I would put this at a 4.25 stars Value of food: 4.75 Service: 4.5 Atmosphere: 3.75 Hope this review helps. Check out my pictures.

Got to love local restaurants! The Angry Owl is a great restaurant to take hold of the old Jackson’s. The food is a mix of bar food with also classic Mexican restaurant flair! I personally stick to the Angry Owl Burger! It’s a spicy mix of peppers added to a double meat burger that will be enough for two meals! The burger itself is so delicious and flavorful that I crave it often. I’m not much of a double meat burger kind of guy so I end up taking one meat out and save it for later. The hatch style green peppers are added on top and the ghost peppers are mixed in the cheese, which gives it a spicy kick with each bite! The fries are a great potato wedge style that are always crispy and crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. Definitely this burger is a must try. The service is also something to rave about. I’ve had good to excellent service each time I go. But probably the best part to mention is my most recent visit, ordering«to-go.» The wifey wanted the burger but hates onions and tomatoes(I know! Don’t ask me why but that’s her style hahaha). We’ve ordered the burger«86’d tomatoes and onions» before and had no problems. Well, opening the to go box at home, there were onions and tomatoes. A quick call back to the restaurant and they apologized for the mistake and offered us a replacement burger made to order with no problems! Hence, why I love going to local restaurants! They always put the customer first. Suffice it to say, with this spot just down the street from me, I’ll always be getting my beak wet and belly full here!

UPDATE!!! We decided to give the Angry Owl another try. There was no wait this time so we were seated right when we came in.* We ordered stuffed jalapeños and they were awesome. My 6 yr old son ate chicken tenders. They needed salt but the fries were good. For the entrée, we had the smothered chicken, beef fajitas, and the rib eye steak. The smothered chicken was bland — it needed seasoning and rice was over-cooked. The fajitas were great — perfect. The ribeye had a juicy flavor — very tasty. Our waitress Stephanie was exceptional. She kept our drinks filled and was very attentive — worth 20%. I would come back. *The management previously offered to comp our meal if we would come back and give it another try. We decided to give it another chance but unannounced. I was afraid if they knew it was us they would overkill the niceness which wouldn’t be reflective of the true restaurant experience.
