Bad service! They gave me the wrong food after waiting 40 minutes for it! The restaurant looks dirty and the servers get the fried wontons with their hands(without gloves) Dirty and bad service!

Terrible service! Te restaurant always looks dirty! We ordered a sesame tofu and a teriyaki chicken… the food took so long that we decided to take it home! When we got home, in the to go container we had a teriyaki chicken and a sesame chicken. Also, the total for the bill was $ 21.37 and the charged the credit card for the amount of $ 31.37. Bad service, the food takes too long and they give you the wrong food.

This is an interesting concept to cheap Chinese food. A little more healthy take on the whole thing. They offer no MSG and grease laden dishes that make you feel a little better about what you are eating. I had to use a bunch of soy sauce to compensate, which I don’t know if that is doing anything to help the cause. The egg rolls and soup were good. I like the vermicelli options here. There needs to be a flavor factor if you are going to modify the classic dishes. It is too hard to find Chinese food in El Paso. There are only a couple options if you are browsing this area.

It was pretty good. My co-worker took two huge trays to work they were gone by the morning.

To say this food is authentic Chinese cuisine would be false advertising. We arrived to have lunch and ordered Szechuan chicken and Kung Pao shrimp. I was brought sesame chicken and the Kung Pao shrimp was foul smelling and tasting. We sent it back and ordered Lo mein which was sub par. On a positive note, the Diet coke was delicious. Aside from the bad food. there was only one person who acted as waitress, busboy and cashier. This was not our first time at this restaurant we had been twice before and were hoping for a better experience but after today we will never return and will never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Best kept secret for Chinese food in El Paso. Excellent customer service. Everything is cooked on the spot, even the desserts. I’m so glad I tried it!

It’s not good Chinese food. Actually far away from good. Fried rice is no taste. Meat are very chewy.

Love this little restaurant the food is great I especially like the combination fried rice and the Mongolian beef, also I recommend the war wonton soup, service is a little bad, but it only makes the eating at a Chinese restaurant experience more authentic. In fact this is in my top two best. Chinese restaurants in town tide for first only with China wok over in the eastside

This restaurant is terrible, I am shocked by the favorable reviews listed here. We ordered pan fried wontons, General Tao’s chicken(proper spelling is Tso, not Tao), and pork in black bean sauce, for take out. They forgot the wontons, causing me to wait for 15 minutes after I arrived at the restaurant. The wontons looked and tasted like they had been fried in burnt oil, they were awful. When I removed the bell peppers from the chicken and pork dishes, their volume dropped by two thirds. I wouldn’t mind this if they had tasted great, but, like the wontons, they were awful. My wife and I ate about a third of each and threw out the rest. The Mexican chef at this restaurant was trained by the owners, who come from southern China, Guangdong province. The dishes on the menu are eastern and northern styles. It seems the owners don’t know how to cook these dishes, yet they are teaching their staff to cook them. I would avoid this restaurant like the plague.

Because the food was good, healthy and MSG free, my family and I continued to be a paying patron. But now we’ll be taking our business somewhere else. I’ve never been so miss spoken to when placing or picking up an order. At least you can count on the quality of good food and not over-the-phone customer service or in person for that matter. If you plan on ordering take out, be sure to BEONTIME, or you’ll receive a serious lecture from the woman owner. Heaven forbid when you’re busy running errands with an infant, that being on time to pick up a take out order was on top of the list! After having gone there about 3 times a week for months, she freaks out on me over a cheap lunch take out order. Well, she got her $ 12 bucks and lost a long term customer! Enjoy the food, but don’t expect good service or treatment.

Great food and service at a very reasonable price. Place is small and almost hidden between a liquor store and Subway shop. Kung Pao shrimp/chicken, sweet and sour pork, mu shu gai pan, soups, fried rice, shrimp in lobster sauce, etc are all good.

I have had the good fortune to eat Chinese food all over the world, so it was a real surprise to find such an excellent place in El Paso. Its a small place that fills up quickly and with good reason, the food is excellent, the service goos and its clean which so many restaurants in El Paso aren’t. I had the Sweet and Sour Pork. I know thats considered pedestrian but I’ve loved it since I was a kid and so few places do a good job of it. The pork was lightly battered and fried, the peppers, carrots and onions were obviously added at the last moment as they were crispy and delicious. There was just enough sauce to glaze the pork without overpowering it. So many places seem to think that you need to drown the ingredients in the sauce. China House gets it, the sauce is there to add to the dish, not to turn it into a stew. The egg drop soup was a delight. Again, so many place seem to think that egg drop soup is just chicken soup that you drop an egg in. No, its a soup all its own, the egg whites only should be delicately drizzled into the broth, not just dumped in. At its best Asian cooking is about subtlety. Its the mix of ingredients, assembled at the last moment, complementing and contrasting with one another. China House understands this while so many Asian places, especially in El Paso do not. China House isn’t just good for El Paso, this place could hold its own in any city in the country.

I have been to this restaurant twice before with an ok outcome so today I decided to take my boyfriend who had not been. What a mistake. I ordered the Teryaki chicken and it was literally the worst tasting chicken I have ever had. It must have been microwaved and did not taste the way chicken should. Even the appearance was displeasing. The sauce was also terrible. My boyfriend ordered Sesame chicken and it also had a fake taste to. All in all I will never return here. I’m still sick to my stomach.

I really really wanted to like this place given the dearth of palatable Asian food in the area. But 4 ½ stars this place simply just isn’t even if it is located in EP. Called in my order about 30 min before I got there, the guy on the phone said it’s be done in 10 min but after I arrived had to wait an additional 20 min for my simple to go order of 2 dishes. This would have all been forgiven if the food was decent. The beef chow fun was bland with noodles cooked more al dente than necessary. Shrimp in lobster sauce was filled with canned veggies and sauce was very watery. Both dishes were around 10 bucks which isn’t ridiculously expensive, but is much more than food of this quality is worth. I wish I could give you a better alternative for Chinese in the immediate area, but unless you wanna drive another 10miles you’re outa luck.

I thought the food was really good. The portions were big and the price was reasonable. The only problem was the waiter was not very friendly.

The place is tiny, but don’t let that deter. Lunch specials are cheap, delicious, and quick. Décor is nice and inviting; upscale enough for a suit, but laid back enough for a t-shirt. The food is great! Well cooked with proper texture. Flavors are more subtle but worth the savoring. Mild in all the right ways. Great for someone who wouldn’t usually prefer Chinese because of overpowering flavors. Well worth checking out.
