Who knew shipping containers would be the next wave of coolness? Second– who would’ve thought El Paso would be on their A game regarding this. As I was walking towards these massive orange shipping containers, I secretly was wondering if the top one would ever tip over like lego blocks. Unfortunately, the laws of physics don’t allow that to happen so it just creates a fun illusion for those passing by. The bottom container features the actual café with three tables and a pop up bathroom within. Gotta keep in mind y’all that shipping containers don’t normally carry a full size bathroom with a toilet and sink. The drinks are pretty good when dealing with coffee; however, their tea selection is mainly pre-packaged tea bags. I know I know… I’m being picky but I really do prefer my loose leaf tea. Price wise they have it set and I dig the complimentary wifi and unique seating in the top container. I mean for caffeine sakes, they have an outdoor patio on the second floor. That’s too school for cool.(Too lazy to fix this sentence and would rather type this out than simply hit delete button, damnit meant the delete button) I kinda wish they offered actual food but I’m sure they’ll eventually team up with someone or will expand their menu. I’m one of the few who can spend hours at a coffee shop if everything is at the palm of my hands. Gotta give it to Coffee Box– they truly have brought a unique concept to El Paso and it’s a great way of offering great coffee in the hustle and bustle of downtown. Well the hustle and bustle of construction up the yahoo that’s occurring downtown.

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been there but from what I remember it is an awesome place. I had a regular latte. The milk was like silky and the overall product amazing. I also tired their banana nut bread, it was the most moist and delicious cake I have had in a really long time. The location is unique and so is the place it self. I definitely recommend the coffee box to all my friend and those passing by. I am really glad more placed like this are opening in our city.

I love this place! It’s really cute and artsy. Great for hanging out with a friend or to get some reading done(although I think the music upstairs is a little loud sometimes). It has a nice view of downtown that you can enjoy from the terrace. The coffee is good and the prices are not too steep. I would definitely recommend this place.

Very cool business! Solid coffee. I am not really a blended-coffee drinks person, so I can’t speak as much to these, but their plain coffees– both caffeinated and decaf– are excellent. I would say better than Starbucks, which is nice to see in a city that doesn’t have a ton of unique and local coffeehouses. The walk-up service window is ingenious, and makes The Coffee Box the perfect place to stop by for a pick-me-up on a downtown adventure to one of the museums. In summary, their prices are very low, their service is fast and friendly, and the coffee is always delicious. I would highly suggest you try grabbing your next caffeine fix at The Coffee Box!

The coffee here was surprising delicious to me. I honestly wasn’t expecting much and found myself pleasantly surprised. I had an iced vanilla latte and the texture and taste was great. The balance of milk, vanilla, and coffee was wonderful and enjoyable. Coffee box is a must try!

I tried the cinnamon flavor shot not too bad. Cute and trendy coffee shop in the heart of downtown. The prices are fair, not too many frilly coffee drinks(which I like), plus free wi-fi and good service. I like that there is as mall outdoor balcony and a heated upstairs seating area for people watching.

It’s a cute place, but the coffee isn’t all that. It was a one time thing, but I will probably never come back. The desserts were good though, but not worth the prices. Parking is also $ 3

The ambience is enough to sell me on this place Friendly service, very welcoming Coffee is excellent I find excuses to pass through the center of the city to have an opportunity to stop for a coffee Parking lot behind the place makes it easy to park

Coffee Box looks unique and artsy. Obviously creative minds designed and constructed this place that looks like it was made out of storage containers stacked together. The place is pretty small inside. There is a togo counter so you can stand outside to order drinks. Parking downtown is metered so bring your quarters or a credit card. The drinks were bad. I had a caramel frappé and a mocha latte. Both drinks were overly sweet as if the barista wanted to shield the low quality drink in sugar. I couldn’t tell there was coffee in the drinks which gives you an idea of how weak the drinks are. There is not latte foam art at all which is disappointing as the creative design of the shop alludes to craft coffee makers. The coffee is one step above gas station/donut shop/fast food shop quality but the price rivals craft coffee shop. I’d skip this joint.

Ever since I got orders to Fort Bliss Texas, I was a bit worried if I could ever find good coffeshops that wasn’t a Starbucks in El Paso that offered good coffee in a chill and relaxing hip place. I stumbled upon this place by accident when I attended the El Paso Indian Food Festival but never got try it till today I finally made it downtown since I’m off from work today. Turns out that this place is the place to be in Downtown El Paso if you want to get work done in a cozy, creative, and comfortable setting that offers great coffee! Oh and Jazz music being played in the background! Patrons are creative types or university students(not the rowdy ones) Being a New Yorker and having grown up in Costa Rica(best coffee producing nation) for 15 years, I can be quite a coffee snob but this place exceeded my expectations. Great job to whomever decided to open up this place right in the heart of Downtown El Paso!

Brilliant concept. A coffee shop located in two shipping containers. Bottom container is where you order drinks. There’s a couple bar stools but nothing special. The upstairs has outdoor furniture and a second container which contains leather(pleather) chairs, local art, and some tables. Very cool. Its perfectly located next to one of the main parking areas on mesa. So you can park the car, grab your coffee, and then head into work. Service was fast, polite, and friendly.

The Coffee Box is a great addition to the downtown El Paso scene. Serving coffee from BLDG6, the only thing it’s missing is true specialty coffee options(pour-over, namely). Current selection includes brewed coffee, espresso-based drinks from an auto machine, smoothies, and Chai lattes. I’m hoping they continue to push great coffee into the mainstream in El Paso, but as it stands they have a decent selection, a great location, and an awesome environment. Why they aren’t offering cold brew during these hot summer months is a mystery to me — especially since they have professionally roasted, fresh beans to work with. Check out the upstairs for local art, cold A/C, and plenty of outlets. Also, the baristas are conversational and very nice.

I was a bit skeptical about this place because I read it was one of those new storage container designs for a location. At first, I thought it wasn’t worth the visit but it is coffee so I had to visit. As I wrapped up my bachelors degree, I got really into coffees and tasting different brews, blends, etc. I visited the location and it was very surprising. The iced coffee(it was 98 degrees outside) was really good and strong. A second visit yielded just as good regular brew and my friend, who ordered a strawberry smoothie, was just as pleased. The place is quaint and the location gives the vibe of what I would imagine being a little kid looking up at adults. The taller buildings surround the shop or are viewed beautifully from the windows. The design, to my surprise, was really well constructed. If I worked downtown then I’d definitely be here more often but a trip every week will suffice. Great work.

This place is located pretty much in the middle of downtown. I came for the grand opening, and a second time after that all within the span of maybe a week. I wasn’t too impressed, but wanted to give it another shot because the business was fairly new. Came back today and was impressed, I tried their iced caramel latte and it was really good. I know they use BLDG6 coffee and it was being used well. The menu had the regular options, iced coffee, lattes, Americano, and some choices of tea and smoothies. The first times I found it a little water downed, and too much cream. I really think this place balanced out and I will now be coming regularly. Atmosphere on the first level can be a little tight, but the balcony and the second level is more spacious and well air conditioned. I can’t wait to try their other drinks.

Absolutely wonderful! Plus the coffee is the best! Two levels, to fit your coffee mood. You sit downstairs by the café, sit outside on the second level or set inside on the second level.

This creative hot spot is El Paso’s newest place to grab a great coffee in the downtown area. Constructed from recycled mil-vans that are stacked to make a 2nd floor. Once inside, you forget that you are in this type of facility. Very modern with great views of the City. I have the pleasure of trying my favorite White Chocolate Mocha and I must admit that it is ranked in an immediate tie for 1st. They offer free wifi so it is a great spot to grab a table an telework. Only suggestion is that the expand the food menu to more than just some pastries or offer an order out menu with a different business. I want to stay here longer but need to leave to eat :). I will be coming here more often.

Coffee Box, I’m sorry I didn’t take more pictures of you, but I promise there will be plenty of more opportunities because I was on a quest to find a hip location with wifi and good coffee and then I found you. You’re the answer to my coffee prayers! I’ve been watching patiently as Coffee Box was carefully constructed out of two large shipping containers. One placed right on top of another, off centered of course to provide more room that allows the business to have a patio. In the perfect location, the center of downtown… literally steps from the San Jacinto Plaza(whenever the hell they decide to finish rebuilding it… it’ll happen though). Plenty of street parking which will save you some green, but there are also a plethora of parking garages surrounding it and it also sits in the same block as a paid parking lot. You got options. I finally got to check out Coffee Box yesterday and it’s already my workplace preference. I gotta say this, guys… they’re in their soft opening. I think I overheard that the grand opening is later this month, but I could be wrong. Anywho… the inside of Coffee Box is stimulating. The décor is balanced that really makes my OCD heart fall for it. The seating options inside are two small tables or bar seating. All wood, all beautiful. I really like their use of different tone wood and the mix of just enough metal. I did notice that all of the art work appears to be local, I don’t think they’re selling it, but I like local so I enjoyed seeing the different artists’ works inspired mostly by El Paso or coffee(two of my favorite things!). When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the sole barista. He was managing shop smoothly and with a smile. They could probably fit two baristas in the space at a time, but it seems unnecessary unless their walk-through customers and inside customers become to massive. Oh, did I mention there’s a window that you can order from on the outside? Cause there is! So if you’re just strolling by and want to grab a cup of Joe, it’ll only take you a minute or so. The barista was a young guy who had a very endearing attitude towards Coffee Box. He seemed completely invested in making each and every customer the perfect cup of coffee, it was really nice to see his enthusiasm and pride in his work. He even made a couple of recommendations to a few customers that came in that seemed very unsure what to order. Great initiative! I ended up ordering a White Chocolate Mocha and guess what? It was perfect! Not to sweet, no bitter aftertaste, and the coffee flavor was strong enough to give me what I was craving without being overpowering. Great cup! The barista also said that refills are only $ 0.90… thinking back he may have been referring to just the coffee, but still $ 0.90?!? That’s a steal! The barista also gave me the insider scoop on a couple of things that may be coming to Coffee Box in the near future, like official Coffee Box cups and a larger food menu since at the moment they are limited to pastries. Honestly, I wasn’t upset that they only had pastries. I was intrigued by the coffee(which happens to be Bldg. 6 and they proudly display it on the counter) and the coffee options they would offer so it never dawned on me that they may or may not have food available. I’ll continue to go regardless of if they ever add a larger food menu, but I will say those pastries looked really good. I didn’t have time to check out the upstairs portion, but it seems like it’s really just an overflow area or a little bit more or a tranquil area to work. I see myself spending a lot of time on the patio though. Coffee Box has such a cool design and really great coffee. And I love the importance they put on being local. Great place to grab a coffee or latte and get some work done!

First experience here, love the layout! Very unique and awesome way to just hang and chill. Staff was super friendly and very attentive. The only thing was I ordered a regular coffee, and it tasted watered down. Maybe I’m just used to dark roast blends, but this tastes like it was sitting for a while. My friend had a chia latte, and she said hers also tasted weak. But hey, it’s a new place so maybe that’s it. Other than that loved the vibe and the view. And they have a pretty cool art set up on the top floor. Very nice and air conditioned!

Well after much anticipation the Coffee Box is finally open, and I totes dig it! They use Bldg 6 coffee, so the beverages are quality stuff. The drink menu is solid, all your coffee bases are pretty well covered, I’d say the variety is on par with Starbucks, however I feel the Coffee Box’s prices are significantly better. I do wish they had a signature drink, they could call it The Albert! What won me over is the atmosphere, totally relaxed and chill. The place is so much more than just the novelty of a repurposed boxcar, the upstairs has a very hip coffeehouse lounge vibe going, they even showcase local art pieces. I LOVE the acoustic background music! Coffee Box is perfect for chillaxing before Chihuahuas games or other downtown events, unless you’re not into chillaxing. So stop by and have an Albert!
