Had breakfast at this Mexican restaurant. I wanted traditional Mexican breakfast and was not disappointed!!! I had the Conquistador and yummy is not enough to describe how good it was. Wish I lived here and this would be my go to restaurant. Don’t pass this one up. Everything is cooked fresh. Nothing from a can! Just like a Mexican grandmother would make it!!!

Homemade Caldo de pollo was delicious. It’s not like some places where they throw in pieces of chicken towards the end of the cooking and it tastes dry/tough. This Caldo has whole chicken pieces with bones that have been cooked together with vegetables to make tender chicken and flavorful broth without any artificial seasonings. Chile and tostadas were also very tasty. This place tastes like genuine Mexican cooking without shortcuts. Definitely coming back to try more dishes.

My favorite Mexican food joint, though the one up Piedras seems to get a lot more attention. Good selection for breakfast and lunch. The menudo is consistently delicious, and the S.O.S. is a winner as well. The chips they serve are great and the home made salsa varies in intensity. Plates are reasonably priced, though the coffee was priced a little steep(free refills though). For lunch the soup of the day is wonderful, whatever it happens to be. The enchiladas montadas are very flavorful. They can get busy, staff is friendly but can get overwhelmed at times.

I love this place. Open kitchen so you know food is made fresh. Lots of choices for breakfast and lunch. I hit this place at least once a month. Friendly staff and authentic Mexican food.

I decided to come here because of the great Unilocal reviews. Sadly it doesn’t live up to the hype. Great food can make up for a lot of sins. But«Pretty good» food has a much bigger hill to climb. First off, they really need to hire a couple of table bussers. When my wife and I arrived every table was either occupied or stacked with dirty dishes. We were told to sit anywhere we wanted. We found the cleanest dirty table and waited way too long for someone to clear it and wipe it down. When that finally happened, we waited way too long for someone to bring menus and take our water and coffee order. In fairness, they were very crowded and busy with only two waitresses trying to wait tables, bus tables and be cashiers. For all I know they were cooking too. Just as we were about to call it quits and head for Kiki’s we got our order taken. Things began to improve. The chips and salsa were plentiful but I’ve had better salsa. The food arrived piping hot and honestly it was pretty good. One thing about El Paso, though is that it is filled with«great» Mexican restaurants and you never have to settle for«pretty good». I’d go back if I was in the neighborhood, but doubt I would travel any distance for it. Everybody in this town has their own favorite Mexican food joint(s). It just depends on what you are in the mood for.

Best Rellenos around! Came with a party of 5, all had something different and all thoroughly enjoyed. Salsa is simple verde that’s very spicy while Chile queso has no heat and tons of flavor– masterful use of green Chiles in different ways! I had the breakfast steak and was wowed by the many flavors! PS, don’t let the building exterior fool you, the interior is very pretty.

Delicious place for breakfast or lunch. The juevos montados is especially good for breakfast. The coffee is okay at best but not worth knocking it down a star. Definitely check it out when you get a chance.

This is definitely a hidden gem in El Paso. First of all is solves the dreaded«where do you get breakfast in El Paso» dilemma, but even beyond breakfast they have excellent staff, and a great menu. Most of it is huge portions of mexican classics like montanas, chilequiles, enchiladas, manchaca and rancheros. I’ve had it all and it is priced to elate you. If you like a lighter fare, I’ll admit that in my wife’s eyes, I am a close second to the enduring dedication she has for the roasted chicken salad here.
