Terrible. Help mostly ignores patrons until forced to help. Very cramped. If you try to print from the public computers at a dime a page it won’t accept cards or twenty dollar bills. … advanced warning would be nice or a way to pay the help and get prepaid card like kinkos. Very archaic. As far as the ac… it’s hot there now. Probably one person that works there gets hot so everyone else suffers

I frequent this library quite often and I have never experienced an issue with their air conditioning. Perhaps they were just having temporary issues but this place is great. I’ll spend a couple of hours here each time I stop by. The staff is very friendly and they’re really on top of getting in new books and their reservation system works quite nicely as well(which is more of a testament to the over arching El Paso Public Library system). It also looks as if though they used to have a fully functioning café in the back of the library, hopefully either something awesome will replace it or they’ll get the café up and running again soon.

Much to my dismay the Cielo Vista Library Branch is a 5 star facility being ruined by a really crappy 1 star policy: they don’t turn on the AC, and trust me, its a BIG deal. The Library itself is one of the newest if not the newest in town, so everything is quite new and nice. They even have a row of comfortable arm chairs for laptops/reading, which are kept in very good condition… except the material becomes hot and uncomfortable a condition no doubt exacerbated by the fact that they do not turn on their freakin’ air conditioning! There’s not even a fan! Apparently they do this because of energy conservation, which I would understand, but at the same time, all the lights are on, when there’s PLENTY of natural light, and I’m not asking you to keep me at a frosty 65 degrees on a hot summer day, a draft here or there would be nice. Its a real shame, because if it weren’t so uncomfortable, the library would be a great facility, particularly because it isn’t as noisy as some other branches. Perhaps I would’ve been a more generous reviewer had it been Winter. It’s a really nice library if you don’t mind the heat.

In reality, I’m a fan of all the El Paso public library branches and they are all meet pretty much the same standards. This library is closest to the Stonehaven/Eastwood area. It’s a one story building with a park and walk way outside. Inside there’s plenty of seating, computers and laptops available. The book selection is what it is, decent sized(comparable to the size of a library in a public school maybe). If you can’t find the book you’re looking for, don’t give up hope… just go to the front desk(you can also do this online under your account on the libraries website) and make a request. They’ll let you know if there is a wait for the book because a lot of people have requested it before you. If there’s no wait, expect your book in the next couple of days — they’ll give you a call to let you know when it’s in. This branch used to have a café in the far left corner. I’m not sure what plans they have for it now, but I’m positive it’ll either go back to being a café or become some kind of «quiet» room. The Jose Cisneros branch like all the others are always having different classes and groups. Check the website to find out if there’s a group that you want to check out. They also have a lot of things for kids to do(and even more in the summer) and I would say a majority of it, if not all of it, is FREE. If you’re taking your kids here, there’s usually a small snake on exhibit near the check out. The snake goes on hiatus during the winter though, but your kids might become a fan of the library just because of that snake. I’ve seen it happen.
