Ladies who are searching for a hair salon/stylist, do not go to Foliage. My hair was destroyed by Richard. He let me pay & leave with all kinds of gold & orange colors throughout the back of my hair & never told me. My hair was cut extremely short and the ends are uneven, blunt, & botched. A stylist from a different salon said my hair was butchered and that it looks like a broom. I have been in tears since my appointment on April 7th. I am posting my experience so others are aware, I don’t want anyone else to have to go through this. They made one offer to «fix» my hair but after a huge disaster that happened the first time how could I trust that place to make it better? My hair is extremely short because of him & I cannot go any shorter. I cannot have my hair go through anymore processing & they refused to refund my 185.00 I feel taken advantage of because my hair was destroyed & I lost a lot of money. I took someone else’s feelings in consideration over mine. I sat in that chair & listened to Richard talk about how«amazing» he is, how«high class» foliage is, & about all the moms that wanted to have sex with him while he was coaching one of the city’s little league football team, the Ducks. I should have spoken up & told him I don’t want to hear your coaching stories & that the bragging was unprofessional. I should have turned my chair around to face the mirror so I could have seen what he was doing to my hair instead of him making my back face the mirror. I should not have cried in the changing room. I should have told him how I really felt. But I cared more about how someone else felt, over myself & didn’t speak up. I have learned a valuable lesson in this horrible experience. Foliage hid my review on their Facebook page after they responded to my post by blaming me. Foliage Salon and Day Spa Hi Christa, We apologize for not exceeding our usual expectations with you. However we did try to fix the the problem and offered you several different options. We don’t offer full refunds as stated at the door entry and at the front desk. As a stylist its difficult to cut hair when a client continues to move their head, and we have to re-position them several times in one sitting. Unfortunately you didn’t let your provider finish what he was doing because you«you had to go» In the future we hope you find a salon that does meet your expectations. I responded: I never moved my head & the stylist never told me he was having issues moving my head. I am not a 2 year old. Richard NEVER had to «re-position me». I have never had an issue with a stylist in the past giving me such a horrible haircut. You only gave me one option, & that was having someone else cut my hair. How can you trust a salon that provided such a horrible service on the first visit? He finished my hair & I cried in your changing room. The front desk lady asked me to fill out a comment card after I payed & that is when«I had to go» because I needed to leave before I cried in the lobby. Which I ended up doing when I came on 15 April 2016 to show the salon what a horrible job that was done on my hair. Would the owner like to see my hair? How do you explain the spotted blotched bleach job throughout my hair, was that my fault from moving as well? how is this even possible? «not exceeding our usual expectations with you» this my first visit, so how could you provide usual expectations with me?

Do not waste your time and money on this place. I got a hair cut, and highlights and the hairstylist Richard left my hair burnt and dry. I had virgin hair, but he swear he was the best on cutting and doing highlights. My hair is not long but short to the neck and I know he left the bleach in my hair to long. He charge me 180 for it. Too expensive for a crappy haircut and burnt hair. DONOTWASTEYOURMONEYHERE!

Just lost a customer. I took time off of work and I leave for vacation on saturday. The person I spoke with forgot to include a facial and they stated they dont have time today. Suggested I return on Saturday. Failed to provide full disclosure and failed to confirm services requested. And no one was manning the desk at check out time.

I stopped by yesterday to get a pedicure and absolutely loved it. Truly a spa with southern hospitality and bedside manners! I had such a relaxing experience. Too bad they don’t have a spa like this where I live. I would definitely recommend and come again!

I would not recommend this salon to anyone. I went to El Paso to get away and relax. When asked about the afternoon of spa treatment, I wasn’t too positive. The person at the counter did not pay attention. She was more concerned about being paid, which was screwed up. My friend who went with me ended up with a charge that their person neglected because she wouldn’t listen. The bank has been notified. Don’t do the jacuzzi or the chakra massage. I was expecting a jacuzzi not a bath tub with jets and the chakra massage was truly a joke! They read three cards that they had chosen then have me a back massage. The 3 cards were read after and it wasn’t an hour massage. I’ve been and had a wonderful experience at the Aveda spa in Albuquerque. It was not worth what we were charged.

I was recommended here by a friend who had hair and makeup done for a wedding she was in and after seeing pictures of how nice everyone looked I decided to book a trial for my wedding. Karen and Annie were really sweet and extremely professional and went over the consultation in great detail. In the end I was really blown out of the water with what an amazing job they did. So I booked them for my wedding and got the same amazing took the day of! And not to mention my bridesmaids looked drop dead gorgeous!

Scheduled a pedicure a week in advance. I showed up for my appointment 10 minutes early and was informed by the receptionist that their pedicure chairs were broken and new ones were being installed«as we speak». They would not be able to see me. They claim they tried to contact me today to let me know. They had the right phone number, yet I had no voice mails… So, you mean to tell me that all the pedicure chairs broke today and they were able to get someone in to install new ones on less than a days notice? Poor form to make appointments you know you can’t keep, then fail to cancel them last minute. To top it all off, some other lady offered to reschedule me. When I said I was from out of town and wouldn’t be able to reschedule anytime soon, she said«oh well, I was going to offer you a comp service.» Nice. Luckily, another salon was able to get me in last minute and did an awesome job with great customer service!

My wife went to this salon with blonde hair to get her roots touched up and came home platinum silver BLUE! They blamed their shampoo boy, for the stylists unprofessional results and inattentiveness. The stylist and manager told her it would eventually wash out. Even though the color was done wrong too! They gave her a sample size shampoo and told her to wash it at home several times to get the blue out. My wife was so embarrassed when I picked her up from this salon, she was almost in tears. Reluctantly I had to say something to management for her mistreated condition. I spoke with the manager, and after five minutes of saying her hair was unacceptable, and still in disbelief they let her leave the salon in that condition, after charging her for professional services. The manager said they would wash it again, but nothing else. My wife was speechless and«now in tears at the counter“during my talk with the manager who made no other option. I requested owner contact then at that point and was told they were on vacation and they would give them the message to contact me. So for about $ 120.00 after 20% off for their(Blue) mistake and wrong color match discount, they’ll let you walk out the door. No contact from yet owners either!

I went to Foliage for the first time this January. I am new to El Paso so I read many online reviews and I thought I would give this salon a try. I scheduled a hair cut and I had a coupon from the website for first time customers. The salon was beautiful, nice décor and clean. The stylist gave me a great neck massage with peppermint oil and she was very kind and I enjoyed talking to her. She cut my hair with me facing away from the mirror the whole time. Which I actually liked because I always feel a little vain if I am staring at myself in the mirror the whole time. However I wasn’t really sure what she was doing. She dried and curled the ends of my hair so I felt it looked pretty good. But… when I went home and washed my hair I realized that it was not a good haircut. My hair had not been cut in 7 months so the ends were pretty ratty and she did not take off enough hair so my ends were still uneven and ratty. Also the layers were really choppy, not the gradual delicate layers I am used to(from living in California). Anyways after about 2 weeks of trying to convince my self that it wasn’t that bad, I finally went back to have my cut redone. I was assigned the same stylist which worried me but I wasn’t in the mood to argue. I felt bad because the stylist was clearly embarrassed by the situation. She did a better job this time but I think she was nervous and I had to really point out her mistakes with the layering. Anyways I am still not really happy with the cut but the fix is a little better. If you go here I would recommend not using the coupon because they usually only let you use it with the less experienced stylists. I would ask for one of the more experienced stylists and see how that works out :)

I’m not sure why people keep giving this salon a bad rap. I like it mainly because the sell aveda products. I’ve been there twice. The first time I had a hair cut with Alejandro. He was fun and the cut and style was great. I went there last week for a hair cut and Alejandro was no longer there, so Dalia did my hair. I’m pretty easy going about my hair, so we tried something new with bangs. Great cut and looks fab.

I called for information on their bridal packages, and the receptionist was very rude, snobbish, and unwilling to help… This alone should be a warning sign to stay away. If this is the service they provided over the phone I can just imagine when you walk into the salon.

I recieved a gift certificate for Foliage as a mother’s day present. After a couple of months, I was finally able to get some time off for a much needed massage. I called ahead to book my appointment, made an appointment easily with no problems, within the next few days. The day of my appointment I arrived super early, just because it was my first time there and didn’t know how long it would take to get there. I walked in and was greeted immediately. I was checked in and taken to the massage area. I filled out a simple paper stating how/what type of pressure I would like, etc. After a few minutes I was greeted by my masseuse. My massage was great! It felt like I was there for hours and really it was more like just 50 – 60 minutes? After changing, I was back out to the waiting area. Few minutes later met with my pedicurist and was taken to the pedicure room. I happen to get one of the loudest pedicures machines in my life! Everytime she spoke to me, I had to ask her to repeat it, machine was so loud! Either way, I got over it about 10 minutes later… pedicure was still worth it. I really had a great experience even though I had read some of the other not so great reviews. I appreciated their services and will probably check out some other services in the future.

For Mother’s Day I chose to get my Mom a spa package. I wanted her to get the whole works: massage, pedicure, and facial. In essence, she needed some major pampering. I ordered over the phone and told the staff my cousin would pick up the gift certificate in El Paso. Somewhere between my name, my Mom’s name and my cousin’s name the gift certificate got lost. Ugh. After several phone calls to the salon, my credit card company to affirm the charge went through and my cousin they finally found it! To make up for the mistake they kindly included a complimentary terry robe and slippers. While the robe and slippers weren’t the best of quality it is still the thought that counts. I commend them for fixing their mistake promptly and trying to keep the customer happy. Let’s just hope when my Mom goes to get her massage they don’t lose her too!
