I was on my way to Asian Market when a beautiful smell of honey-baked ham made it’s way to my nose and quickly enveloped my body in those cartoon smells that dragged me right to the place I belonged… inside Honeybaked Ham Co. I had seen this place before, many a time, but I always made the assumption that all one could buy here was a big ‘ol ham and how often does one need a whole ham? Boy, was I wrong. I walked in around noon and found a line of about ten people, which in a smaller place like this it made it feel packed, but it moved really quickly. Especially since a majority of the people in line before me had already called their order in and only had to pick it up and pay. Prices seemed beyond reasonable to me and they had a few different manager’s specials like a half sandwich with a cup of soup for about $ 6. I had just got out of a barre class so I was pretty dang hungry and went all in with the Ham Classic, Jalapeño potato chips, a drink, potato salad, and a cup of soup. I got all of this for a few pennies over $ 13, but if I had just added the combo to my Ham Classic(includes chips, a drink, and a side) it would’ve only been $ 1.99 more to my sandwich total which most of them were all around $ 6-$ 8. The Ham Classic was so fricken’ good! Ham with swiss, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, and a sweet honey mustard all on a croissant. Soooo good! There was easily a half inch of ham on that croissant, in a layer of two or three thick slices. And the honey mustard, this stuff was three parts honey and heaven, and one part mustard. My new favorite sandwich! I thought the soup was good as well and same with the potato salad. The potato salad was a little different than what I’ve ever had since the potatoes were sliced, not cubed… interesting, but it was still good and the perfect companion to my sandwich and soup. HHC does in fact also sell whole hams that apparently you can pick up, but if it’s close to a holiday like Thanksgiving or Christmas, you may need to place an order. And they sold some other things for a great dinner, like family-sized macaroni and cheese, cheesecake, chocolate rum cake, dinner rolls, and more. I briefly looked at the prices for these things and while they were more than I’d like to pay for a dinner for two, they were perfect in price for a group of 4 – 6(which is actually how much each item said it would feed). Definitely keep this place in your back pocket in the event that your in-laws stop in with almost no notice. Love this place for a great lunch and I’m sure I’ll eventually be trying their take-home items. I’m coming for you chocolate rum cake!
