Food is great, but I have tried this place twice and they never have ribs or their smoked pies. What’s up with a bbq joint not having ribs? Not good for service.

Great hidden gem of a place for some absolutely superbly cooked brisket and meats!!! You have to stop by and try!!! To pass the time while you wait you can shop next door in the barn or have some great conversation with the the guys there !!! Ask for Steve he’s one hell of a smoke guy!!!

Very cool mini smokehouse. Brisket and pulled pork were succulent and made with love. The beans were a little spicy with brisket on it too! The two guys than run the place are very awesome. Great local place to support and get some BBQ that’s not overpriced

Driving home on Montana Ave I smelled BBQ by buddy’s beer barn and saw the smoke by a little shack next to the barn. Stop to see what going on because I love smoked brisket. Turns out this«Just smoke it» has been there a year all ready. Tried out a combo plate of brisket and pork with BBQ beans and tater salad. I wanted to cry it so good!!! Nowhere around here can you get brisket like this. Smoke rings on both meats! Real smoke flavor that I’ve been missing here. They have chicken, ribs and sausage too that are on my list to try next. But I’ll always get brisket if like this. Sauce was perfect sweet with spicy heat to it. Tater salad was red skinned and not a mustard based like I hadn’t in my head when I ordered but was awesome. And a roll instead of the sliced bread tipped it off. Card said they catered. So I’m going have them cater for my birthday. Two thumbs up

I got the two meat platter to go($ 12), and ordered chicken and shredded pork as they were out of brisket. When I got home I realized they had given me sausage, instead of pork, which I don’t eat and can’t review other than to say I’m disappointed to have wasted the money. The roll was a prepackaged dinner roll and the pickles were store bought. The BBQ sauce on the chicken was great, but the skin was incredibly chewy and fatty, not crispy at all, so I didn’t get to enjoy how delicious the sauce was with the chicken. The smoke flavor did, however, fully penetrate the meat. The beans were very good, pleasantly seasoned with flecks of BBQ meat. The potato salad had no flavor, aside from the taste of mayonnaise, and was very runny. Oh, and I didn’t include it in the rating because it doesn’t bother me, but the person taking my order interrupted it to answer a personal phone call. I include that in the written part because I know it’s a huge pet peeve of some people.

Had discovered and read about this place here on Unilocal app. So today I went to check it out. I got the two meat combo(brisket and chopped pork, with potato salad and the beans). First both meats were awesome in taste and tenderness. The beans were soooo good too, but the potato salad was different. I guess mentally I was already planning on the yellow potato salad with eggs. Anyways the only bummer was I felt that the meat portions were on the smaller side. Other than that everything was great. I recommend this place. Good job and look forward to returning soon. Thank you.

I must add to a review I wrote on the business page for Just Smoke It, a small take away barbecue shack located on the property adjacent to Buddy’s Beer Barn on Montana(across from the new city bus terminal). I first encountered the shack when I was shopping for pottery at The Barn, and the smell of the food smoking lured me to investigate. Sure enough, there it was… a little gem of a surprise selling everything from smoked brisket plates or sandwiches, chicken, pork, ribs, sausage, and even dessert in the form of smoked pies. That’s right, you heard it… smoked pies, plus the best potato salad this side of the Pecos. I’ve never tried it, but they also have macaroni salad. The flavors infused into the smoked meats are really nice… and I’m picky about that. Also, I don’t like a lot of sauce and Jesse(owner) has a light hand, though if you want more I’m sure he will accommodate. I’ve been back several times, and even had Jesse cater a luncheon at my work. He can handle anything from a couple of dozen to hundreds for catering. This is definitely a business you need to try, and I have no doubt you will love it! Seriously, it’s one of the best barbecue places in town.

You walk up and see a shack and think you are not going to like it, but it ended up being very high quality bar b que at a great price. Plus you get to walk into Buddy’s beer barn to get some craft beer while you wait. Well worth the trip

I would not eat here again ! Not even if it was free, the ribs and brisket was cold like out of fridge cold. We put them in microwave and heated them but still awful ! The sides where ok !

Came here for the $ 2 Ribs on Tuesdays and I’m glad I did! Got two orders, the ribs were pork ribs and had an awesome smokey flavor. Nice fall off the bone soft texture. They weren’t small wrinky dink ribs either. The bbq sauce was good too, nice and tangy. Glad it wasn’t a mustard base bbq sauce which im not a big fan of personally. The sausage was good as well. Got a side of potato salad and ranch style beans. The potato salad is on point, the ranch style beans, damn! So good. I think they even had pieces of sausage in them. Some damn good beans, I can get quart of those beans and eat that alone. The rolls could of been better but it didn’t take away from my meal. Before coming I’d call ahead and see what meats they got smoking and available because a lot of them go quick as the day goes. I’ll definitely be coming back, love that I can get me some craft beer and bbq at the same spot. The guy Jesse there too was a cool guy and very helpful as was his bald biker buddy who was helping him out. A place well worth the visit.

Located right next to the beer barn(if you’ve never been give it a shot just drive right through) is a little spot that you walk up to and place your order. I had a brisket sandwich«combo» which came with some macaroni salad, I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to get a drink or not. The brisket sandwich with jalapeños and onions was perfect, the macaroni salad was ok but next time I will try something different. I didn’t see any menus printed out nor a place where you could sit. They’ve only been open for a couple months and I’m sure things will continue to get better, the brisket as I said was really good and would love to try more of the meats!
