First had the fried dumplings, it was very good. For the entrée I had beef ramen, while it was good it tasted like the ones you buy from the store, so nothing special. You can also get many different kinds of sushi, I had blue mountain it came with 8 pieces which were fried and came with a blueberry topping. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Next was the French kiss sushi roll it came which 6 pieces, they were big and very fulling. They were also good, but a little to much for me. A good and enjoyable experience, would definitely come back and try the different dishes!

Phenomenal place! The service is outstanding. It’s not dirty at all. The customer service is on point. The atmosphere is super comfortable and judgment-free. They have individual rooms for karaōke. I took my family of 4 to this place and we had a ball. We got a room for karaōke and no one interrupted us, poked their head in the window, and to top it all off, the room is soundproof so if you sing bad like me, you’re good. I would recommend this spot to anyone. It’s like being back in South Korea and Camp Humphreys all over again. Almost forgot, they have a ridiculous amount of karaōke songs to choose from. LITERALLY A BOOKSIZE. Just remember to start from the back for English

Service wasn’t great but the food is excellent. Didn’t like that when you order a meal it doesn’t come with free miso soup. The cheese Ramen is on point and just may be the best thing on the menu. The tempura crab roll with blueberry sauce was amazing as well. I’ve been back twice just for the Ramen soup. You can call ahead and pick it up to go.

I’ve heard good things and thought I’d give it a try. Food was delicious, but the portions were small, at best. For $ 20/person(one of those being a 2 year old) we should have left stuffed, but honestly everyone but the baby was still hungry. We ordered the edamame, calamari, Kalbi, Philadelphia roll, fried California roll, Alaska, dragon, and a fried roll I can’t remember the name of. Edamame, Philly, and Cali rolls were standard for area expectations. The calamari was disappointing. For $ 10 we got four pieces of calamari and a variety of tempura vegetables. And there was really no flavor to the dish itself, not even a redeeming dipping sauce. The quality of fish, presentation, and the flavor of the specialty rolls were on point. But the size wasn’t what I was expecting for a $ 13 roll. The Kalbi was different than what I am accustomed to, but still delicious. There were three ribs, a scoop of rice, and some odd fruit salad that I didn’t try. The accompanying rice portion was small. The toddler ate half the entrée on his own, if that gives you a concept for size. I was a little confused by the lack of kimchi to go along with the meal. I’ve been to quite a few Korean restaurants. With a name like kangnam style, I guess I was expecting more of a Korean feel and menu. Service was sub par, even for el Paso. Only one person at the table ever got offered a refill, and the server wasn’t around enough for us to ask them as needed. They completely failed to bring the soup and salad that come with the entrée. They never offered to bring another beer when the first was empty, or at least a water in its place. I would have been willing to accept a $ 100 tab for 5 adults. Our party included two adults, an 11 year old, an 8 year old, and a two year old. All but the two year old left still hungry. The sushi was delicious. But there’s only so much I’m willing to pay for atmosphere. We’ll keep going to Kee’s. Total dive, but totally amazing service, quality, flavor, and portion size, and I can feed the whole family AND have leftovers for around $ 70.

Kangnam Style is the type of restaurant where upon sitting down on their contemporary Korean decorum style furniture and tasting their authentic cuisine, you immediately want to renounce your American citizenship and become a full time [South] Korean. Seriously, this food is THAT good! I pretty much described everything that makes this place 5-star worthy within the first paragraph. But just to give you a more transparent depiction, we’ll discuss what was probably the best rendition of Ramen soup I’ve had since the last time I had the pleasure of living in Korea… which was like 10 years ago. Actually, the wife and I both got the Ramen… only I ordered the cheese Ramen. Just a warning to the faint of heart: this Ramen has a kick to it. And considering I’m a guy who normally doesn’t care for spicy foods, I gotta say that this Ramen is what’s up! It helps that the cheese cuts some of the spice down a notch. But the thing is it’s not spicy to the point where you can’t still taste the actual food itself. I’d say the kick is comparable to your average buffalo wings. They offer a side of steamed white rice with every lunch bowl. Not much to say about it, other than the fact that it’s clumped just perfectly for chopsticks. We also ordered the Midnight roll. I gotta compliment this place on their timing(not sure if it was intentional or not) because they didn’t bring us the roll until after we both finished our Ramen. I suppose they were just giving us a chance to enjoy one item at a time. At first, the wife had aversions to the smoked salmon on top because it looked raw. One quick taste changed her melody instantly. This roll was excellent, as was the Ramen. I’d give both menu items a «gomabseubnida» out of 10! The service was superb! I mean, sure the place was rather desolate… given it’s the day after a holiday and(presumably) everyone else was at work or something. Still, our waitress was very attentive and cordial. Matter of fact, their entire staff was very friendly. They always make sure to bid each patron farewell upon exit. You just don’t see this level of hospitality in many places anymore. We plan on returning to this quaint little hot spot to sample the dinner menu. The lunch menu consists mainly of sushi rolls and some Ramen bowls and lunchbox specials. So the fact that I can easily give them a perfect rating speaks volumes about the cuisine. I gotta say… the flavors and decorum took me back to my Korean days. I can personally vouch that Kangnam Style is the real deal!

I heard they had karaōke rooms so I had to check this joint out. I wouldn’t really come here just for the food but if you find yourself famished after singing your heart out– I’m sure the food options they have available will taste amazing! We arrived here mid-afternoon and got some sushi, fried rice and ramen. The sushi was okay, I think the sushi chef used to work at Koze but I think the sushi at Koze is way better. The fried rice was fine– it’s way better if you ask for their house made hot sauce. My favorite part was the $ 6 ramen– it’s seriously a 20¢ bag of noodles! I was a little put off at first but on second thought– if it was 1am and wasted, I would definitely order this and thank them for having it on the menu for such a steal.

Kangnam Style is not a bad place. It’s definitely fun for karaōke and you can even get a little room to sing in with your friends. I did end up dining here and doing karaōke with a group and it was a good time. I also thought the service was great and it was for sure a highlight when our server sang karaōke for us herself! I will admit that the main reason I actually decided to check out Kangnam Style was to see if they had any good Korean food offerings. They do have some Korean food options but not a lot I think. I only tried the ramen and it was pretty standard. Korean ramen tends to be pretty standard and not that exciting in general though so I can’t really hold it against them. To me the thing that this place is missing is that it is just not 100%, If you are going to call yourself Kangnam Style, I think you need to really go all out and simply own it! Own your Koreanness with a name like that! Who even cares about sushi at a Korean place really? I know that’s what people seek out when it comes to Asian food in general, but why not introduce the amazingness of Korean food and drink in such a restaurant? I was honestly bummed that they don’t even serve a simple bibimbap here. I guess the goal of the place is not to be known for Korean food but I more for sushi and karaōke. But sushi is not Korean! Just bring on the Kimbap already! Maybe I’m just too stuck on such things. I do like Kangnam Style overall, but I am just a little confused about it in all honesty!

I had a great time on my first visit to Kangnam. Granted it was with an awesome group of Unilocalers(shout out to Tanya, Charles, and Arianna!). As the only sushi karaōke bar in El Paso I feel compelled to give it 4 stars. The potential for an amazing time makes Kangman great. That being said, I would rate the actual food and karaōke at a 3. The sushi was solid but not particularly memorable to me. I found the sushi to be a little chewy and none of the rolls I saw really stood out aesthetically. I did like their southwest style roll(but I am a sucker for jalapenos on anything). I wouldnt necessarily make the trek to the East side for just their food. Likewise, their karaōke selection is pretty limited(although free private rooms are a pretty awesome). The karaōke machine in the private room is pretty easy to operate and has decent sound projection. More impressively is the way the rooms is largely sound proof with the door closed so you can really belt your heart out without disturbing the other patrons. Although… I suppose my wild gyrations to «I’m on a Boat» and«D*ck in a box» might have been equally, or moreso, disturbing(particularly in absence of music context). However, the service we received was solid with our waitress singing on request(no arm twisting there) which helped get our group in the mood(I’m kidding, I’m always in the mood for karaōke. Seriously its a sickness!). In short, Kangnam Style is a place that although its parts may not be stellar, still manage to culminate in a unique El Paso experience that should not be missed. I will definitely go back.

Well for starters, this is an interesting place. I believe it may be the only restaurant in El Paso that offers private Karaōke rooms. I have been there three times and tried something different each time. An in my experience, the food is «ok». It presents well but the sushi is localized meaning it has jalapenos on it… Yes I said that. The Udon Noodles were ok but only contained noodles and a little beef. A few mushrooms, spinach, or even some egg would have made it better. The Karaōke in my opinion really sells this place. I am no singer by no means but this would be a great spot for a «thirsty Thursday» or «Veerness» to grab a drink with friends for Happy Hour.

Where else in El Paso can you enjoy some sushi while singing karaōke with friends? Kangnam Style is a fun night out and the perfect place to go with a group. Kangnam Style and me started out on shaky terms. I went in a few weeks before to see if I could reserve a room and at first was told yes, I could and then only seconds later I was told no, I couldn’t; the rooms are on a first come, first serve basis because they get so busy. No biggie. But then on the day I was meeting here with other Unilocalers, I saw an ad on their Facebook that said they take reservations… well that’s a little fishy. My fiancé and I arrived 30 minutes before we were meeting everyone to make sure we could get a room… we arrived to a completely empty restaurant. I pretty much walked in with RBF. The rest of the evening completely changed my mind about KS because it was pretty great so it just seemed like they haven’t really figured out if they do or do not take reservations. We had a few different rolls like the Catepillar, Philly, Crazy, and California rolls. I thought they were all pretty good and the perfect size. I also had a order of the salmon nigiri which was very fresh and a medium thickness for the area. Good stuff! A couple of people in our group got food off the Korean dishes menu as well and I thought those all looked good too. I was lucky enough to be able to steal a couple of bites of my fiancé’s udon noodles and they were nice a thick and cooked thoroughly. The karaōke was the fun part and what we actually came for. Awesome selection of songs(bigger selection of Korean songs, but still a pretty diverse selection for the American ones). Before we started off our night of «rocking out», we were able to convince our waitress to sing us a song. She was a good sport and came ready with her rendition of Bad Romance. Needless to say, she was a really great waitress and figured out ways to sneak into the room without interrupting our«performances». Love the private karaōke rooms and will definitely be snagging one every chance I get, but they also have karaōke in the main dining area so you always have the option to sing. They also have a sushi bar and just a regular old bar bar so you have plenty of options when you come here and it definitely isn’t weird if you just come for the karaōke. Also, if you see David T. here quietly eating sushi while you’re thinking about going up in front of the whole restaurant and singing Billy Joel’s The Piano Man… do it before he gets up, he’s a professional and if you have to follow one of his performances he will wipe your face on the floor in your tears of shame. Be the opening act, you’ll feel better about yourself… like you got the crowd warmed up for him.

Best fried gyoza in a restaurant I have ever had! So good we had two orders for two people! I also ordered the Red Dragon roll and Spider roll. Both had an amazing taste to them and the presentation was on point. I will definitely be coming back!

We were attracted to this place from the other Unilocal reviews and we aren’t disappointed and don’t disagree with the generally positive opinions of other reviewers. First and foremost, the service and person ability of the staff was great. We went on a Tuesday and with few customers the staff were free and willing to engage us and did a great job in ensuring a pleasant meal. The recommendations were spot on. I was convinced to try Jinro, and was given a unique mixer suggested by the bartender which was a very interesting flavor. The food was down really well and I had no complaints whatsoever about eh sushi– the El Paso roll IS spicy! I would love to see the place on a busy night. The restaurant has a nice ambience and design. A night of drinking Jinro with friends would be a good night there!

Amazing Korean food in El Paso! Their cheese ramyun is perfect, just like in Korea. They also serve soju– the waitress was so sweet and amazing she gave us samples of the soju w raspberry and it was delicious for soju drinkers. They also have an extensive sushi menu. We tried the Virginia(which was a big hit except we picked off the onions off the top, they added an unsavory flavor). We also had the Philadelphia which did not have much flavor. I can’t wait to go back– the menu includes bulgogi(great dish for your friends who haven’t eaten Korean food and want to try it out) and Korean short ribs. The place was clean and nicely decorated. They have a full bar and private rooms for karaōke. I definitely will be going back for the ramyun.

Stopped here for lunch when I was in the area. Staff is super friendly as mentioned in another review. I ended up trying the El Paso roll because I love spicy and crunchy sushi. If you like jalapeños, you’ll love this roll! I love that they have private karaōke rooms for customers. There’s no additional fee to use the rooms, you just have to order food/drinks. Big plus! I was told that they offer a large selection of songs in languages from English, to Spanish, to Russian. The karaōke rooms accommodate parties from 4 – 8 I believe. Another big plus ICECREAMMOCHI! Also, the prices are very affordable. Try them out!

This is a pleasant change from the El Paso style sushi. If your looking for good sushi, plus spicy, we found it first, or at least our waitress did, then recommended it to us and it was good and spicy. The rolls cost a bit more than the joint down the street but they are lager and definitely more flavorful. We will return to try more on the menu. The El Paso roll is a must for spice lovers, the rainbow was excellent, and the muscle roll is a new favorite.
