I am moving soon but will continue to drive back to see Hunter. My hair has never looked so beautiful or been so healthy. I don’t have a lot of time, but Hunter always works around my schedule and gives me a gorgeous cut and color. I love that my cut works with my natural wavy texture. I don’t even have to style my hair, I brush it out after showering and it dries into beachy waves. I’m naturally a brunette, but have always wanted to be golden blonde. Now I am! I absolutely love going to Hunter. He is extremely talented.

Hunter knew exactly what I wanted to do with my hair. Going pixie short for the fist time can be a little concerning but he knew my hair type and made it work. I’m currently very satisfied with my cut and definitely will be going back.

Hunter Quartermane does an exceptional job on my hair. Wonderful! The experience at the salon is first class. Since recently moving to El Paso from a much larger city with a hairstylist I loved for years, Hunter is an amazing find. Is he the cheapest? No. But, the amazing job he does with color (especially red), the quality cut and superb blow dry exceed the others I’ve had in most major cities and his prices are comparable.

I dont usually post reviews but feel the. need to after my experience today… After numerous failed trips to «recommended» salons in el paso in search of someone who has experience working with blonde and damaged hair, I came across Hunter. I am in hair heaven at the moment-​he somehow fixed my hair and gave me the blonde I wanted!

I am new to the area from Seattle and anyone who has had to find a new salon can relate finding a new salon is always nerve wracking. Not in this case, the minute I walked in I relaxed. The salon has a fun, funky vibe and everyone was so nice and welcoming. I left with not only amazing hair that looked and felt fantastic but it was exactly what I asked for! I had such a good time I can’t wait to go back! It was worth every penny and for a haircut and color the price was less then what I was used to paying at home. I loved this place! Not sure why my review got flagged, even though it was a real review about the bad experience I got here. So i’m posting it again for Unilocalers.
This establishment perfectly demonstrates why you can’t trust ratings on establishments that have limited numbers of reviews, which unfortunately seems to be the norm in el paso. For those of you that have ever been robbed, hustled, or conned out of your hard earned money you’ll know that distinctive horrible feeling you get after wards. This is the feeling I got after I forked over 70 bucks for a 10 min horrible haircut here. Maybe part of the blame is due to the lack of a competitive market in El Paso, but charging Manhattan prices for a sub mediocre haircut in El Paso should almost be considered criminal. In the short 10 min that I was there, hunter made it obviously clear he had extremely high regard for his hair cutting ability, but after experiencing the results of his «handiwork» I’m more inclined to believe that there may some frontal lobe issues going on. An overpriced bad haircut, even by el paso standards.

I have had my color done and hair cut in top salons all over the country; L.A., Phoenix, Chicago, New York (April Barton herself), DC to name a few. No one, anywhere, has ever come close to Hunter Quartermane.
Hunter has been styling my hair for 10 years. For the last 5 years of our history, I lived in Santa Fe, NM and had to either fly to him or take a 5 hour drive, each way. Which I did. Every two months. Because he is worth it.
What I love most about him is that he extremely smart and intuitive. It’s like he studies color reactions on all different types of hair so that when you go to him and ask him to color your hair, he knows exactly what tone you’re asking for and how to give you what you want. My biggest concern always is blonde because it can go wrong so many different ways. Never once since I have been seeing Hunter has my blonde been anything but perfect. Never gold, never brassy.
I can sit down and tell him I don’t know what I want, I just want something different and he always seems to know how to read into that and make me look and feel fabulous. My most impressive story is the time I went to him and asked him to change my hair (which was like platinum blonde at the time) to something darker that brought out the green in my eyes. He took my hair to a gorgeous sort of cold tone brown with these cold tone blonde blended highlights that made my eyes very literally change color from hazel to green.
His cuts are also amazing. He has taken my hair from long to short (a super cute bob a little above shoulder length), shaped it as it was growing out, cut layers, let it grow, cut it straight, given it body, made it lay beautifully even when it was 4 weeks into the cut and I could keep going. He finishes with a blow out and I promise when you leave that salon, your self esteem will jump 50 points.
Speaking of the salon, that’s another thing I adore. It’s in a building with a beautiful little courtyard and it’s small. For me, this means all of his attention is on me and my hair instead of a ton of stylists with house music so loud you have to yell in order for your stylist to hear you.
I currently live in DC but anytime I have the chance to fly in/​out of El Paso, I do solely because it means Hunter can do my hair. If you’re looking for the best colorist/​stylist you’ve every had, you have to give Hunter Quartermane a chance. He won’t let you down.

Hunter is the best hairstylist in El Paso… nay. the world! He makes my hair look gorgeous as he adds color and does a cut that will last me for a few months down the line. My hair has always felt soft upon leaving my appointment — not straw like — as at some salons. His place is top notch. And this is from a hair snob. I have had my hair done in Beverly Hills by Juan Juan, at a number of Sherman Oaks salons and made the rounds in El Paso. He because the CBS TV affiliate’s main hairdresser for all of us anchor-people…that meant I got my hair fixed to look fabulous all the time!!! YES!!!
So, I have glowing reviews for Hunter — If you are in the area –BOOK HIM!!!
