Meh’ I ate the fried fish and calamari w/sweet potato fries that cost 1.50 extra. Breading wasn’t very good. Calamari was decent, fish was mediocre, sweet potato fries were disappointing. What’s funny is the upgrade from regular to sweet potato was 1.50 more but the amount of fries was pretty minuscule. Next time is try something not fried and see if it’s better, I’d give it another try but wasn’t too impressed. Also getting sauce from their sauce bar was insane too many people, the line to get sauce was as long as the line to order but it was even slower.

This restaurant had very fresh fish, a good variety of sides that were healthy and good prices. The service was quick and efficient. Prices reasonably as well

Excellent customer service. when we ordered Shrimp and paid for the meal. The manager came to our table to apologize and advise us that they ran out of shrimp. They had us order something different and gave us half off the price for the inconvenience… True customer service… We will return

Love this place. It’s a great place to grab a reasonably price healthy meal. Parking Lots of free parking in the lot. Lunch hour can be a challenge, but not that big of a deal. Atmosphere Industrial feel. Fast casual restaurant. Lots of patio seating. Fish tacos are amazing. Tried the Cajun seared ahi salad. It was so tasty. Pumpkin seeds add a nice texture and an added flavor.

GOODTHINGS: — Fresh and delicious seafood; portion is generous; self served sauce(their tartar is amazing) — Pretty much everything off the charbroiler is good, I usually go for the ahi tuna or salmon. The fish and chips is awesome as well — moist fish, light and crispy batter. — You order, get a number, then just sit down and wait for them to bring to the table — service can be a tad slow during lunch rush. — Lots of indoor and outdoor seating — Easy and abundant parking HOWEVER:(main reason for 3 stars) My colleague got shrimp tacos one time. While the tacos were huge and tasty, one of them had a hair in it… It definitely wasn’t his hair because he’s blonde and the hair was long and black… This was an alarming sight but the server took it back and made a new one right away.

I have been going to this place for years getting my usual fish plate until I discovered their clam chowder! 5 stars to them for keeping up with the quality of food over the years and still manage to give their customers great value for their hard earned buck!!!

First customers in the place and place order… they don’t have change for $ 100 and then I didn’t recv. Order for 20min.(On my 30min lunch). The cashier needed a code from the manager to unlock the register because it was saying they were out of talapia… well he was in the restroom for 10min… there goes my lunch… I won’t go back to this location.

This is a mixed review. My wife had the Mahi and it was excellent. The staff is freindly and helpful. Now for the bad part, the seared Ahi tuna. It was, to say the least, inedible. I am a founding member of the clean plate club, I didn’t eat my fish. It was a brown shoe leathery horrible excuse for tuna. I told my wife I am going to get a box and take it home for the dog. She said, «what did the dog do to you.» This pretty much sums the fish up. I looked at other plates of food and it all looked good. Maybe I just got unlucky. I hope so for your sake.

This place was really great at first but has gone downhill. They always seem to run out of staples such as shrimp!!! I like the shrimp tacos and I have walked out because they don’t have any more. It can be a big disappointment! Seafood restaurant constantly running out of seafood. What’s the point?!

Good seafood spot. My favorite dish is the white fish(Swai) plate with either fries or rice, garlic butter sauce, and grilled zucchini. The service here is always really slow. Long line to order and it takes a while from when you order to get your food. I recommend that you call your order in ahead of time.

I’m so freakin dumb. I went to school for 4 years at UC Irvine, where one California Fish Grill was located… and I ate there one time. ONEFUCKINGTIME. But anyway that’s all in the past now… lol. Now I work less than a mile away from this location and I already ate there 2 days in a row. Amazing. I’ve tried their burrito/wrap before, which is good, but I think their grilled fish dishes is where its at. I wanted to slowly work my way down the menu, so I ordered the swai/white fish, which is like the cheapest fish they have($ 7 – 8? That’s it??) … and wow it tastes like a million fucking dollars. It’s basically a nice big slab of grilled fish, and I love their cajun seasoning, but I also ask for their garlic butter sauce on the side. Best of both worlds! The cajun seasoning actually gets a bit spicy, but very subtly. I dunno what makes this dish so amazing, but it was. It also comes with 2 different sides, and I like to get the grilled zukes and rice. If I’m feeling splurgy I’ll get the fries… hehe. They also have this bomb ass spicy corn chowder. OOh. Delicious. It’s not really that spicy but it’s got really good flavor to it. Creamy too OOOHHH yes. Their fish and chips is insanely good. The batter is super crispy and the fish is flaky. Their house-made tartar sauce is soooo bomb! MMM. I also tried their cajun white fish burrito, but it’s pretty much the same as getting a plate of it. but you get some cabbage and rice inside it instead of choosing your sides lol. I’d prefer the plate, but sometimes you want a burrito. They also have a ton of salsas towards the back, and I LOVE their roasted tomatillo salsa. I pretty much will be here all the time. ALLTHETIME.

The seafood here is made really good! The best dishes according to my aunt are the white fish and shrimp! The salmon is cooked too dry! I ordered the white fish with zucchini and cilantro rice! They won’t give you the option of cilantro rice, so make sure to ask! It taste really good! The side order of Brussel sprouts is also a delicious choice! It’s only $ 4, so it’s worth the try! I like Brussel sprouts so I thought it was good, but many people do not like it so maybe it’s not worth the price. Customer service is mediocre, not too shabby! They keep their tables very clean and sauce table tidy so that’s a plus! Overall I would definitely come back here.

Came here for a late lunch as I work down the street by Imperial Highway. Decided to call in my order so I could have the food ready by the time I got there. Didn’t quite work out that way. Still had to wait a good 10 minutes. There’s plenty of parking in the area and plenty of other shops and restaurants. The interior is decorated nicely. Lots of tables inside as well as outside seating. It wasn’t super busy but there was a good amount of action going on that day. I ordered the grilled Cajun swai wrap. It was a nice size and filling on its own. It had the white fish and rice, onion, tomato, cabbage, and cream sauce. I told them to hold the cream sauce and have the Cajun sauce on the side. The cabbage is nice and crunchy; even after being stuck in the wrap with the hot grilled fish. Seasoning was well done. Rice was fluffy and nice. So I polished off one half and went into the second half. About 3 bites into it, I felt something hard. It was the corner plastic piece of a bag. I could tell because I could clearly see the corner edge where the plastic gets pressed down to seal the bag. Must’ve been the corner from one of the ingredients. Not sure how it got in there but it made me lose my appetite. Without thinking, I quickly threw the rest of the food away. Everything was tasty and good up to that point. But it wouldn’t have been good to swallow that plastic. Therefore, I had to deduct 2 stars from my review.

I’ve enjoyed going to the Gardena location over the years, but this spot boasts the same goodness. The food is fresh & affordable, FYI, Fish Grill provides counter service, meaning you place your order, take a number, and wait for it to be delivered to your table. This is not a sit down restaurant with a waiter/waitress. The fish is all fresh, and a good size if you just go with a fish fillet. They also offer various types of fish, or you can have fish tacos — plenty of variety in how you can have your fish. They also have good rice/beans/vegetables, personally, I like the grilled zucchini, which if you’re watching your carbs, is an alternative to the rice or potato sides. Surprisingly, the little piece of bread they give you along with the cold salted butter they have available is really good. They also have a more than adequate salsa bar which will help you zest up your meal. The corn chowder soup is better than the clam chowder(my opinion), which is odd for me since I usually like clam over corn, but I think the corn chowder is more zesty. I dig the format, and love the healthy fresh food, which will cost you about $ 10/$ 13 out the door.

I went here yesterday for a late lunch. I had the grilled catfish, Brussel sprouts and sweet potato fries. Meh. Meh and just Ok. The catfish was nothing to write home about I found it over cooked and too salty. I would suggest you ask them not to salt the fish too much. I like fresh tasting fish. I’m not sure about this place and trying it again. The Brussel sprouts were TERRIBLE, the worst I’ve ever had in a restaurant. I must say the young lady taking orders in the front was great, she was moving very quickly with such a high volume and was being as kind as possible. As far as the food goes. I won’t be back. I saw another fish place further up the street called Malibu fish grill. I will give them a try and let you know how that is. I’m a fan of grilled fish as you can see.

Great customer service and staff who are very friendly. The food was delicious. I ordered the fish and chips and my friend ordered a salmon salad. The fish had the right amount of batter with a very delightful seasoning. The french fries are out of this world but they aren’t the worst either. The salmon in the salad was cooked and seasoned perfectly with a very good dressing, walnuts, and cranberries. There where areas near the condiments & fountain drink session that were very slippery and extremely unsafe which downgraded to 4 stars from 5. Overall the food here is great and at a very affordable price.

My office decided to come here for a holiday luncheon. It’s one of our go-to places because its close, convenient and has a chill atmosphere. FOOD: I had the mahi grilled with the butter sauce with french fries and grilled zuccini. My coworker and I shared half of our orders so I could also try a different fish and cooking style; he ordered the trout cajun style. The fish were well cooked and well seasoned. The cajun style is better as it has the right amount of flavor, whereas I thought the other style was too overwhelming because of the butter. Neither fish were super fishy. With a squeeze of lemon on top, its perfect. The fries are lightly seasoned with cajun flavoring but there isn’t anything particularly special about this or the grilled zuccini. Fairly good portions though for the price you pay. Overall: 4⁄5 SERVICE: The only service I got was when they brought the food to my table. The tables and chairs are moderately clean but that is because we were the first bunch of customers that day. Sometimes I have to wait for them to bus the table or do some of the wiping down myself. Each table has napkins and straws. There are self-serve areas in the back for drinks, utensils, and condiments so you can get what you need. Overall:3/5 DECOR/AMBIANCE: There is outdoor and indoor seating. During lunch rush it can get super packed and it can get hard to get around because there isn’t a lot of walking room between tables. Brightly lit with tons of windows. There isn’t a lot of décor but you can see your meal being prepared as there is a window over the grill. Overall: 4⁄5 The food is delicious and for a decent price. They open at 10:30am now instead of 11am so my coworkers and I usually try to arrive early enough to order and grab a seat before the lunch rush starts. I’m sure I’ll be back in the future for other office parties.

This is one of my new favorite lunch stops before I head in to work. If you are picking up food to-go, I advise to call ahead and order your food. This way, you get to skip the lengthy line and walk right on over to the«Phone Orders» register. This has saved me so much time! I have only tried like three different things on the menu: the battered fish tacos, garlic butter salmon, and fried zucchini. I love them all. When you typically think of battered fish tacos, the words«soggy» and«greasy» probably come to mind. But that is so not the case here! The tacos always come out piping hot and super crispy. They are so tasty — I end up craving them way more often than I should and have to talk myself out of coming here too much… The fried zucchini are the same — always crispy. I have never been disappointed. The garlic butter salmon is tender and flavorful. I don’t tend to order it all the time because it is a lot more expensive than the fish tacos, haha! The only slight downside about this place is that since it’s in «The Edge» section of Plaza El Segundo with lots of other restaurants, parking can be a real pain! But I guess that means business is booming, right?! I can’t wait for another one of those tacos.

Quick service restaurants(or QSRs) have become very competitive in recent years as the fight for your business has become fierce. QSRs need to find a balance of providing good food that is at a reasonable price point, while getting that food to you at a «fast food» turnaround. As the traditional fast food chains struggle, QSRs such as California Fish Grill(«CFG») are rapidly expanding into new market areas. QSRs need to turn their tables rapidly in order to serve more customers and sell more food. CFG offers healthy and fresh grilled seafood options as well as the traditional deep fried preparation method such as fish & chips. I prefer the grilled option as it is a healthier cooking method. Everything that I’ve had here is delicious, including the fish & chips. Every time I’m back in the area, I’ll be grabbing my quick lunch or dinner here.

What an absolute find! I love that I can get a healthy, robust dinner with fresh fish for less than $ 10 here. It was packed when I went on a recent weekday night. They have taco plates, and fried fish/shrimp, but the way to go is to get their fish combo plates which come with rice, bread and grilled zucchini or coleslaw. So much food for so little! I literally eat half and then the rest as leftovers the next day. The ingredients are good quality and fresh. The rice was the hearty stuff you get in pilaf. For the fish plates, you can get your grilled fish either with their garlic butter sauce or cajun spice. The cashier recommended I tried both, so they served up my Swai(white fish) two ways! I preferred the garlic butter as the cajun was too spicy for me. The«fish of the day» fish plate is 50 cents off the regular price and it ends up being around $ 8 after tax. There’s a salsa bar with fresh pico de gallo, tartar sauce, citrus slices, etc.
