I can’t see why there are negative reviews for this place. It is a little fish house with great deals, it isn’t a fancy restaurant but nor is it trying to be. The halibut fish n chips are some of the best in the south bay, and I’ve been searching for five years for great fish n chips. The ciopino is pretty good and the tilapia stuffed with crab was good as well, ask for a very good price. $ 3 wine on Sundays is pretty nice too!

All of there food seemed to be frozen and microwaved. Nothing fresh. Dressing for Caesar salad was very bad. Quality very low. Waiters were very nice though

I love my seafood! For dinner, I got the sea bass(grilled or blackened) with the blackened option as it comes prepared with delicious cajun spices in the fish. The plate included lemon butter sauce as well as a choice of 2 sides. I opted for the garlic parmesan fries and Caesar salad. My plate was very yummy and the fries were very filling. The sea bass was good, but I think next time I would get it grilled as the cajun spices were kind of overpowering for me towards the end. I also tried the special, which is a crab-stuffed Tilapia with veggies and mashed potatoes. The crab-stuffed Tilapia was super yummy! I love the creamy sauce that came with it. I would get this one again if I could. Overall, quality of the food is great. Credit cards accepted. Plenty of parking. Service is friendly.

First time here & last time here! Food was not all that great & over priced. Place needs an update and looks old & does not feel welcoming! Felt a bit odd and confusing. My fish did not appear to be fresh or what it should have been. Then again, the blacken flavor was not very good & the portion was small compared to the price. Not a good seafood resturant at all.

No need to try this place. I did it for you. Kind of an odd experience. Food wasn’t horrible, but service was a bit off. Not a comfortable ambiance. Something just doesn’t add up. Oh well, I felt like fish n chips!

I’ve been here twice and am definitely not a fan of this place. The restaurant is old and shabby and located in a run down strip mall. Plenty of more upscale and nicer food options in El Segundo. First off, there are way too many items to choose from and they’re written on multiple chalkboards at the place where you order. While there are lunch specials, there are also some expensive entrees in the $ 15-$ 20 range. I ordered the Alaskan cod fried tacos after debating whether I should go with a fish sandwich versus tacos. The tacos were relatively bland but once I added the green sauce it had more flavor. It came with rice and beans. Afterwards, we ordered a brownie with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream on top to share. The brownie had an artificial taste and was way too sweet. Definitely don’t recommend coming here if you’re looking for seafood. Better off going to Malibu Fish Grille or California Fish Grill which has better ambiance and quality of food.

The fish is really fresh. Lots of choices. They even have a good steak. The only thing I did not care for was they added live music. We could not hear each other speak. They need to lose the amplifier. Quieter is better. The place is too small for that kind of music.

Forgot to get $ 7 for $ 15 Unilocal deal this time, stupid of me. Make sure to get it next time, if there is next time. I had a small Cioppino. Full of seafood: mussels, clams, shrimps, fish, nice portion, OK quality. Soup is too tomato-ly, lack of herbs and time to infuse seafood sweetness into it. More like a plain tomato soup with seafood in it. Disappointing. Blackened Wild Ahi Tuna Taco, comes in two tacos. Large piece of tuna, firm, grilled, but not well blackened. Some shredded cabbage and green salsa to add flavor, but too simple.

Solid seafood for a reasonable price. My brother introduced me to this place as he lives in El Segundo. Glad I went. Took the family and we tried a bunch of deep fried seafood matter. Kids had cod fish and chips. My wife had salmon fish and chips. I had fried shrimp in sweet chili sauce tacos and my brother got the blackened halibut fish tacos. We also got an order of popcorn shrimp and hush puppies to share. Portions are large. Served with large amounts of sides as well(rice, beans, fries depending on the entrée ordered). Hush puppies were fantastic. Golden brown, moist and flavorful cornmeal served with a spicy ranch(or some other creamy like) sauce. Popcorn shrimp were little(hence popcorn), fried perfectly and served with the same Thai sweet chili sauce as what came on my shrimp tacos. Very good. All of the fish and chips dishes were fried perfectly as well. Not greasy, right amount of batter and fresh fish. Big portions of fish as well. The chips are just fries but that doesn’t bother me. Just put some malt vinegar on them and I imagine I am sitting at some seaside fish and chips joint in the UK. Or not. I’ve never been there and I have no idea what fish and chips made by real Brits taste like. All I know is this stuff was pretty solid. Fish tacos came with lots of blackened halibut on a corn tortilla and covered with diced cabbage and diced mangoes with some tidbits of ginger. Really fresh and hit the spot. Shrimp tacos were basically corn tortillas filled with the same popcorn shrimp and treated with the right amount of Thai sweet chili sauce. It was also accompanied by diced romaine lettuce and diced mangos. The atmosphere is rustic and well old. But it was clean. The service was great. Staff super friendly. Money goes into the food, not the venue, which is just fine with me. Cool little local find.

Big party of 20ish ordered all sorts of creatures from the sea. They have mostly fried stuff but claim they’ll cook it however you want. Décor is like any other typical seafood place. They gotta stick with the formula, yanno. Most of us ordered an appetizer and an entrée and barely finished it all or boxed half to-go so the portions are great.

Was served soggy fries and rubber sole tonight. Overpriced versus quality of the meal. I Won’t be back.

Fish was made fresh. Garlic fries were not. How do you take the time to fry the cod but not the fries too. Atmosphere was fun, like a pier and clean. Staff was really nice.

I had the shrimp po boy a couple weeks ago and it was back to perfection. Recently had the Mahi Mahi tacos and tried the fried oysters. I’m impressed… these guys are back to 5 stars. Great recovery!

Okay, I have NO idea what they did, but their dishes are WAAAAAYYY better this time around!!! Don’t get me wrong — they were pretty good the last time I had visited, but… WOW! Went for a lunch today and ordered the blackened catfish with Cajun rice and house salad with soy ginger dressing. My friend ordered the blackened tilapia with sautéed spinach and onion rings. (My friend and I share our food, so… with that being said…) … the blackened fish on both dishes were so YUMMY!!! They were both moist and the seasoning was perfect! Well done! The sautéed spinach — WOW! I don’t think I’ve had it better than here! Right level of saltiness and the garlic didn’t overpower the flavor of the spinach. Really good! I was hoping the Cajun rice didn’t have beans in it(I’m not a fan of beans, I gotta say.) And… it didn’t!!! Oh, and the dressing for my salad was fantastic!!! The onion rings were a little too battered, but eh. After all the other great food we had, we didn’t really care. Well done, ESFC!!! A true fan here!

On the outside, this place looks like it belongs on a decaying pier that served Van de Kamp’s fish sticks. If not for a group lunch, I would never have ventured inside on my own. Surprisingly, this place is great. The ambiance is great and the inside is clean. You even crack peanuts while waiting for your food. You order at the register and they bring your food out. My buddy recommended the crab cake sandwich so that’s what I got. The sandwich was HUGE and on a deliciously buttery bun. The crab cake was moist and flaky with plenty of crab inside. Great food at a reasonable price means I’ll be coming back here again.

Been here a couple times for dinner & just like another review, they’ve been consistent with their food. BIG portions at reasonable prices so come hungry! My top picks: –Clam chowder: Fresh & very hearty/filling. The bread bowl is no ordinary bread bowl — it has a delicious cheese & garlic crust! –Jambalaya: HUGE portion — can easily feed 2 – 3 people. –Clam linguini: Flavorful and lots of clams. Very filling. Not recommended: –Fried oyster appetizer — tiny portion, maybe around 5 – 6 pieces only. Get the calamari instead. –Salmon tempura: Too chewy and well-done. Go for the halibut instead. Ambiance: –Clean, big, good for families –Nautical décor –Attentive service Tips: –It’s located in the Rite Aid plaza on Grand Street. Parking is NEVER a problem here. –No need for reservations. I’ve been here on the weekdays and weekend, and its never full. –Every now and then Unilocal offers a $ 5 off deal so look out for it! –Just like 5 guys, they offer FREE peanuts. There’s a self-serve barrel near the register with paper bowls so help yourself! –Get the clam chowder in a bread bowl instead of regular, since the bread bowl has a garlic/cheese crust!

I applied for the email list and didn’t get another email for the discount. Apparently if you sign up you get $ 5 off a $ 10 meal. There was a print out on the link but I wasn’t near a computer at the time. The cashier offered me a free drink in lieu. I ordered the oysters po’ boy. Knowing most restaurants they use jarred oysters. I also ordered baked beans and fries. When my food came out it looked promising. There were two halves to my sandwich. I was given black beans instead of baked beans. But it wasn’t a big deal. When I first bit into my sandwich it was okay. Way too much bread though. Halfway through my sandwich the oysters tasted funny. I pulled the oysters out of the second sandwich and there was a brownish gunk through my sandwich. I didn’t eat the rest and spit out what was in my mouth. I tried to eat the fries but they were cold and tasted like they had been sitting there a while. I reached for the malt vinegar and was about to pour it on my fries when I realized it was full of gnats. When the cashier came back to check on us I showed him my food. He said the oysters are fresh and come in a jar. Yeah. Fresh. He also said it must’ve been a bad batch and offered me something else. I kindly declined. Before leaving he gave me a business card with a handwritten note for a free APPETIZER on the back. Again, thank you, but no thanks.

This place is a hit! Stopped by to have some lunch, had the fish & chips plate. Based on the flavor and quality of food, impressive! Best Fish & Chips you could ask for. I will dine this location again for other menu options. Thanks to Robert, service was the best you could ask for. El Segundo Fish Co, they know their stuff! Highly recommended. Oh and for those who like Cole Slaw, it’s top notch. Next visit or two I would like to try the Clam Chowder, Lobster Bisque(If its available), and or Fried Calamari.

Came here for Friday night dinner, me always wanting Clam Chowder and also saw they have Bootlegger’s Brewery(Fullerton Ca) Hefeweizen beer on tap — hubby was sold. The décor is old school nautical; To the younger generation probably too old for them, but I think that’s its charm & character. There are older folks(they/we like reasonable priced meals), families, middle aged couples & groups of people. The service & food was good to us, I was stuffed! Maybe it was the beer too! I had grilled tilapia, sides mash potatoes & garden salad & homemade Balsamic dressing, and a cup of clam chowder that was served on a large soup plate(not a bowl), but it was good. Hubby had a huge(Max burger) hamburger plate with shoestring fries & garden salad he sub’d for coleslaw.(I am curious how coleslaw is though). We liked it, prices pretty decent for seafood & pitcher of beers was $ 18, which was perfect, it was like two ginormous schooners/punch bowls to us and did feel the nice happy feeling fast;) Our server was polite young man & very prompt! He gets 5 stars! They have ½ wine Sundays — I can’t wait to try that! Parking’s tight as next door is a bar that appears to be a favorite w/the locals –not trendy as the surrounding others, but cozy which I also like. Also the RiteAid & laundry mat take up parking too, but it’s doable. This is great local place too if your not up for driving past or on Sepulveda for the bigger restaurant chains. It’s a small town kinda place :)

Fantastic food! And super close to the El Segundo Arclight, so it was great for a quick bite. At times the service was a little slow as my husband and I’s dinner came in the window for pick up at the same time, but then the waiter only brought my dinner and left my husband’s sitting in the heat lamp window while he went and did some other things for other tables first. A small complaint, but it was weird that he didn’t just bring both at the same time. Cute and relaxing set up and décor to the place, and the music fit the vibe well. There is a barrel of free peanut, but no one ever bought some to us, so we went and got a bowl and got some ourselves— maybe it is self serve? The tables are covered with white paper and there is a cup of crayons so its fun to draw while you wait for your food! My husband got the catfish sandwich with onion rings– very yummy. Bread was soft and the fish was well battered. The onion rings were homemade and also well battered. I got the grilled Mahi Mahi with the butter sauce, the asian ginger sauce and some ranch— ALLGREATSAUCES. And I’m Southern so I know good ranch! The fish was so light and flavorful and melted in your mouth. Forgot how fantastic mahi mahi is… But let’s get real here, got a side(glad we didn’t do an appetizer of it bc it would have been too much to eat) of the corn filled hushpuppies with the chipotle sauce, and it was everything I could ever dream of! Seriously, my friends had a Groupon for here like a year ago, and I have been dreaming of a chance to come try them ever since. We also started out with the ahi tuna wontons with the mango salsa — - YUMMMMM Used the Unilocal deal, so that was helpful :)
