The Shrimp Encocado is delicious. Came on a Friday Night for some a quick drink. They have craft beers. Which surprised me for being a Colombian /​Latin experience. The appetizer came quick when I ordered. The shrimp is on point. The sauce is Zesty and would wish to have this sauce as a side sauce. It’s Zesty, just love the sauce. When the bill came I was surprised.
For a Beer and a seafood app it was affordable. Will definitely come back. The place is big and the ambient is nice and classic.

To begin with, the parking… well there basically is no parking they have a small strip of parking spots on the right side of the building and that’s it! Anyways once inside I asked the girl, a table for 7 and she said «give me a minute» I saw they set up a table for eight right behind me but the girl never sat us down and kept looking all over the place like she was lost and didn’t know what she was doing. It wasn’t until some other girl asked us how many were we and immediately sat us down on the table behind me (crazy). Sat down got out menus and ordered our drinks and didn’t get them until about 15 – 20 minutes later!!! Really??? Ordered our food, everything was ok except for one plate which was to swap some potato chips for salad. The owner said he couldn’t do the swap and they will charge extra for a side salad. The way he said it was that we were going to get the chips and the salad on the side. So we agreed and when we got the plate the chips where swapped and we assumed that they gave in and did the swap. When we finished and got the bill they charged for the regular plate and the side salad but never got chips. We told the waitress and he told the owner/​manager which was kind of upset, but the customer is always right, right? So he took off the extra $ 4 from the bill. Overall the food was ok. the service bad! (Everyone seem lost even when delivering the food). The place was very nice and clean but it’s not just about the looks. They need to hire people with experience, focus on costumer service and get organized!!! There are running around like headless chickens. The original location is better with the service. Unfortunately this is the first and last time I will be coming to this place.

Excellent place for Colombian food. I’ve visit pretty much at any time… from 3am after dancing all night. to breakfast, lunch and dinner, and every time the food it’s always well prepared and fresh out of the kitchen.
The bandeja paisa that is the most typical Colombian plate it’s really good, even tho for my appetite it’s always a lot! (Not a big eater), for breakfast they have american breakfast and breakfast with meat and a variety to chose. Also another good thing its that they have fresh beverages like smoothies that are also made on spot so they are always fresh. And also fresh Colombian bread that it’s good for the afternoon snack with a cup of coffee.
The place its a bit small but it does the job. Overall really good place.

Love this place. Has delicious Colombian food. My family and I visit often. One of the best Colombian restaurants in Elizabeth.

I been here 3 times with my fiancé, because it is her favorite place in Elizabeth for Colombian food. The food come in big portions, but you also pay 15 dollars per plate. Colombian food is kinda greasy, but depending on what you get. I recommend for something healthy get the Parador Rojo Chicken. i love to eat that with a side of beans.

The authentic Colombian food here is great! I love their weekend hours (4am). I’ve had Brandeja Paisa, and steak here. Rice good, beans good, empanadas great, service is also great. Friendly staff.

I eat here often. Breakfast it’s coffee and pick items or one of their 6 menu items. Lunch they have good specials, and dinner the beans and meats are flavorful. The food is priced right, and taste great.

the best colombian food in the area. i keep coming back here again and again for the cazuela de mariscos which is absolutely spectacular. the place is always packed, so be prepared to wait (though not long, usually) BYOB, with two liquor stores within a block’s walk and the last time i went they even had some live music, which was nice.

A family member took me here before going house shopping. I must say, after having a plate of their Bandeja Paisa and having Peruvian food for the first time yesterday, I am now hooked on all things South America. I mean, seriously though, I’ve never truly enjoyed this dish until now. The last time I had Bandeja Paisa was at Antojitos Colombianos in San Diego, CA before moving to Jersey this summer.
Bandeja Paisa ($ 14): The dish is composed of the following: Arepa, Colombian sausage/​chorizo, half an avocado, a pretty big bowl of beans, a scoop of rice, a plantain, one medium sized skirt steak, and chicharron/​pork rinds. The skirt steak was tender and well seasoned; there is no need for any sauce. The chorizo was delicious, especially with the peppery kick it has. The avocado, bowl of beans, rice, and plantains were delicious; the avocado was fresh, the beans were nice and hot, and the rice was in a generous serving. The chicharron, however, is the star of the dish. The pork was tender and well seasoned like the steak. It was, however, a bit too salty. Then again, I don’t mind. It was so good!
The arepa was probably my least favorite item on my plate. It tasted like cardboard; flavorless, bland, and chewy — think stale popcorn in the shape of a hockey puck.
Service was alright, but it took awhile to get our orders out and our change after paying the total. We had a hard time communicating with all but one of the waitresses, since only one of them spoke English. A bit tough; however, the waitresses were all friendly. I’d come back for sure.

I’ve been here a few times with my family, the food is good. Ive had the bandeja paisa (typical colombian platter) and also some of their specials. I recently went for breakfast and had hot chocolate with cheese and fried chunchulin which was delicious and by far the best meal I’ve had at this restaurant. Now that i commented on the food… I’m not a fan of the place because the employees are forgetful, they tend to forget some of the orders and drinks, last time i was there they half assed some of the orders we got (it was a big table) it took forever to get my uncles drink and meal, we were all eating and practically done by the time he received his meal. The place is always packed and might be understaffed which is why i think they forget things sometimes and might take them forever to come back to your table. Also, last time i was there they had so many people waiting for tables that you can feel people breathing down your neck waiting for you to leave. not cool.

TERRIBLE!!! We went after a night out in Elizabeth. We didn’t get to our usual place cuz z a friend was raving about this place. We came at 2:30 am and it was full, so we were already excited. We ordered the empanadas, they may be the worst ones I have ever had. They seemed unfresh and were salty. My GF got the rib soup and it was bland. It seemed like old meat thrown into water. I order the bandeja paisa, and the steak was fair, rice okay, but chorizo and chicharron were SUPER salty! Definitely don’t waste your time here.

You want Colombian food, this is the place to go! From empanadas to dessert! Delicious!

I came here on a Monday evening for dinner because my boyfriend was in the mood for a bandeja paisa. I ordered the ¼ pollo asado and a few min later the waiter informed me that there wasn’t any chicken left– what? So I ordered the bistec a caballo instead. My food was brought out several minutes after my date’s, which I think is a big restaurant faux pas. When mine finally came out, it was very good. The sauce on the steak was incredibly flavorful. We had plenty left over– I’ll most likely go back but to split a meal!

I came here after I was wanted to get a back up to La fogota. I noticed this place always have a lot of people eating in here. The ladies working here are nice and understand English.
Portions are big like every Colombian place I’ve been to. La Fogota has a bigger menu but the food are comparable in taste for me.
I like that I can sit at a table and check out hot women walking. Too bad most of them have kids or taken already: P The secret service have good taste.
Parking might be an issue. I alway park on Morris. I’m afraid my car will get jacked if I park on a side street. It is Elizabeth afterall.

Colombian food, Colombian music videos, and to top it off, even a sexy, hot older Colombian woman as a waitress. I’m in love.
PS: The service is phenomenal with a nice at home touch. Their demeanor is excellent, too. Everyone has a smile on their face and greets you with warmth.

Great place for casual dinning with great service and excellent food. If you happen to be in the area, you can’t go wrong paying them a visit. My personal favorite Entra~as. Enjoy!

Excellent food, charming service, and good prices. The sobrebarriga a la criolla is particularly good and big enough to share. Also the licuados with milk are awesome. English-​speaking staff is limited, but you can get what you need without Spanish (the fact that the menu has detailed pictures helps).

We have previously been to their other restaurant, and I inadvertently checked into that one. So I added this one! We have been eyeing this place for awhile now, wondering when it was going to be completed. Now, here we are. Newly opened, it looks like it once was a car repair shop, and I think the building still does have an auto repair shop somewhere towards the back of the building. Limited parking but, you can park in the park area before the restaurant.
The place is very spacious and bright, plenty of seating with an upstairs seating area as well. They have a bar area and a bakery area as well, they also have a small stage for a DJ or performers. It appears that you could probably move the tables and create a dance floor or host a party there; they definitely have the space.
Staff there was really friendly, primarily Spanish speaking, but that’s always A-​OK. They were very good about coming to check if everything was OK. Very tech savvy, they use tablets to take orders. Menu was a fair size, your typical Colombian breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes — they have pictures of all the plates, it’s a nice touch when you may not know the language.
The food came out quickly and plenty of it, I ordered a soup which also came with a side salad, avocado, rice and plantains. Hubby ordered the Bandeja Paisa — very good, holy moly talk about a fatty piece of Chicharron — artery clogging at its best! Prices were good — most entrees are $ 14 or less, with the most pricey being $ 22
The coffee was very good, the hot chocolate with cheese was good too, had to look that one up, I had known about Colombian hot chocolate drink, but never with the cheese, I tried to create the gooey cheese goodness that I saw in the pictures, but my cheese just sank to the bottom of the cup, so I ate it separately. We also enjoyed some baked goods, Pandebono and Empanadas, all fresh and delicious.
We are glad this placed opened up, it’s very close to our home and another great place to come and eat!
