I would like to convey my extremely disappointing experience with Janes Realty Group specifically with the owner Bobby Jane. I contacted the managing director of this organization and expressed an interest in one of their listed properties. I met with the agent at the property, filled out the application and was approved to rent this property. During my meeting with the agent, I asked if I could pay the initial deposit and fees via credit card, thinking nothing of it. The agent did not know the policy on such things and would have to ask Bobby Janes, if this was acceptable-it turned out not to be, so I said fine and would render payment via check or bank draft… more on this later. A couple of days past. On 8 May, I received a text message from Bobby, asking if I was still interested in the property, I said I was but had to put things on hold for a couple of days as I was dealing with family matters back in Oklahoma — car being broken into and vandalized to be specific-more on that later too. Bobby replied, again on 8 May, «Yes Sir. No worries… sometimes people just disappear on us». I replied that I understand and that there were some issues with the house that I would like to discuss once my family issues were resolved. To that Bobby replied, «Call me when you can. We will work it out. Take care of your family first.» There was no further communication until 13 May when I sent Bobby a text saying«Sir, I have gotten things under control at home, is the property still available? Thanks for your patience!» No response. I was contact with the agent twice on 15 May, once in the afternoon and once in the evening. The conversation in the afternoon was to set up a time to sign the lease, 4pm 16 May at the Jane Realty Group Office. During the second conversation, I asked the agent if it was possible to pro-rated rent for about 6 day as I would not be able to take actual physical control of the property until 5 – 6 June; I never heard back from the agent on whether or not this would be possible. I show up at the office for my 4pm appointment, but the office is locked up. I call the office number, nothing. I call the agent, nothing. I call Bobby Janes, nothing. Finally, I call another agent listed on the website, he answered — of course he answered, he wasn’t in this deal. He said he would figure out what was going on and get back to me. When my phone rang, it was not the other agent, it was Bobby Janes; IRONIC? It should also be noted, the agent I had been working with had her phone going straight to voice mail, HMMM. Two ironic events in a row, patterns start from less! So, I explain to Bobby I am outside his office because I am here to sign the lease for the property in question, an appointment I set up with the agent who also serves as the Managing Director. Bobby stated that we will not be signing he lease today, which I will soon learn meant NEVER! Bobby stated that my desire to use the credit card to pay initial fees worried him — yet he never called nor did the agent to convey these concerns. Bobby asked about the concerns I had with the property — I stated that I wanted to point out things that needed attention in the property, AKAPROPERTYMANAGEMENT. Bobby later cited my desire to «re-negotiate» the rent as another reason to validate his position — I simply asked if the first months rent could be pro-rated to reflect that I would NOT be in the property until 5 or 6 June, when my family will join me from Fort Sill, OK — I will be packing them up next weekend, preparing my own home to be sold/rented, and moving back to E-town. The final stone upon which Bobby Janes built his case to cancel this deal was his opinion that it shouldn’t have taken as long as it did to deal with my family issue — I extended my apologies for not planning to have a window in my van smashed, leather seats ruined, upholstery caked with mud, and personal items of my wife, children and children’s friend stolen, around the Janes Realty Group’s schedule. He said, «this happened in Oklahoma, right?, and you are in Kentucky?» I explained the fact that this event effected my car insurance, and home owners policy not to mention potential identity theft concerns. I guess this did not meet the Janes Realty Group definition of acceptable. Bobby, also felt compelled to convey that our relationship did not get off on the right foot and Janes Realty Group was scheduling showings of the property — Perhaps picking up the phone might have mitigated the numerous«Concerns» listed here!!! I am sure that somewhere in the Janes Realty Group Mission Statement are the words HONESTY, INTEGRITY, CANDOR, and CUSTOMERSERVICE… I strongly suggest these words be replaced with DISHONESTY, COWARDICE, and MISCOMMUNICATION. This was my first bad experience in E-town since moving here in January and it has left me a mere 6 days to find a place for my family to live

If you are looking for a real estate agent in the Elizabethtown, Fort Knox and Radcliff area do not look any further; seek the advice and great service of Mr Rogers Ashley. A retired Command Sergeant Major with whom I had the privilege to serve with in the Army. Rogers is dedicated and very focus on what he does, he will always keep his word, and is backed up by a team that works well as a team. He is there to help clients, both Sellers and Buyers. This guy is top notch.
