Elk Grove Optical

This is a nice little shop. It is relatively easy to schedule an appointment. The staff is super nice and helpful. They even send you a text message when your order has arrived. So glad I checked out this place.
Parking stinks at lunch time. It is next to a Subway, near McD’s, a bagel place, and Taco Bell.

Friendly. Knowledgeable. Efficient. These are three very important qualities in an optometrist’s office, and, thankfully, three qualities I found at Elk Grove Optical!
The office itself is pretty minimalist — few frills, just a handful of exam rooms and a decent sized lobby with a variety of eyeglasses that will likely appeal to most. I spied eyeglass brands from a variety of price points (some a bit higher than I would expect) — from Candy and Guess to Kate Spade and Marc Jacobs.
After spending a few minutes filling out my new patient paperwork, the office then took me for the pre-​exam tests including eye puff for glaucoma, retina exam, etc. Less than 5 minutes after, the doctor called me into her office for my contact exam. The doctor was on point and efficient, spending just enough time to walk through all the necessary steps.
I was at the office a total of 45 minutes and walked out with a fresh prescription and contact and glasses order. I sincerely appreciate the staff’s expeditious but thorough nature!

This is a great local place to quit it with the squints and get your eyes checked. The staff is very helpful and polite and takes the time to explain your options for glasses, contacts, and eye exams when it comes to insurance. I haven’t gone in for frames yet, but it appeared like they had a nice selection and even had lots of fancy pants designers to choose from.
The doctor is very good and very quick; I was in and out in less than 40 minutes and that includes filling out paperwork, going through the insurance info, the eye exam, contact fitting, and payment process. Not bad if you ask me!
