Amazing couple has dedicated their retirement job to helping people with Celiac Disease and other food allergies – many of us have both :) Before the restaurant opened you had to make do with occasional themed gluten free meals and pre-cooked meals to be purchased from catering company. I wish I could afford to eat out more often. I am now on disability and have a limited budget. When I was still working, I could eat out a few times a week. If this were still the case, I would have a set night each week that I would dedicate to eating here. Plus, I would leave with bread and pre-made meals for at home later. Most gluten free foods at typical restaurants for all others have no taste. This is not the case here! Finally a place we can eat what we want and not just plain chicken or burger with nothing on it. They use natural foods and are happy to ask any questions you have about food allergies and what you can safely eat. But, if you are not in need of Gluten free bread, you will find it drier than you are used to. I love have Celiac Disease and find the bread to be better than most! The café type setting is nice as they do not rush you out. Note: at holiday times they offer special items like pre-made stuffing and pie for thanksgiving. You need to order in advance and it does cost more than you might expect as the ingredients cost more, but the stuffing is the best gluten free I have ever had – even my own homemade bread based :)

This is a great place to eat if you a gluten free vegan. There are so many options on the menu. It is a guaranteed safe meal. The sub rolls are soft and delicious. The eggplant parmesan sub was so yummy. The pizza is flavorful and addictive. It’s my favorite gluten free crust. There are a variety of frozen items for you to buy and enjoy at home.

WARNING: I am basing my experience here on the simple fact that I personally have no food sensitivities or allergies. Let’s get this out of the way — if you have food intolerances, One Dish is probably a godsend for you. They are the only *certified* gluten free restaurant in the state. They are nut-free. They split their prep and cook lines between dairy-free/vegan and dairy-tolerant. They will go over every menu choice to make sure that it doesn’t contain something you can’t eat. However, from the perspective of someone just stopping in for a nosh, I can understand why they’re having difficulty paying the bills. They have taken a simple deli/café menu and made it allergy-free, but there’s nothing there that makes it a destination. So, they primarily restrict themselves to the 3−5% of the restaurant-going population who need an allergy-free deli. The Reuben and pizza we had were perfectly fine. The Reuben on gluten-free bread with an alternative whole-grain bent of some sort was toasted nicely, piled up with corned beef and sauerkraut, with a slice of Swiss and the appropriate dressing. Perfectly OK sandwich. Same with the pizza — a Ledo-esque rectangular thin cracker crust topped as one would expect. But, it was a sandwich with a bag of Utz chips and a pretty basic pizza that with a 50% allergy-free tax bumped the bill to more than $ 30 for just those two items. Bottom line — if you are celiac-positive or have other food issues, this is your place and you’ll be more than willing to pay the premium to get it. However, if you’re not, there’s no real reason to eat here. There’s nothing special about the menu that would bring a non-food-sensitive person in the door. And that, I believe, is why they’re struggling.

I’m part of a family that has to search for nut-free, gluten-free and soy-free vegetarian food whenever we eat out.(We usually eat at home, because it’s easier, cheaper, and safer.) This place provides some options for all of those dietary restrictions easily, with a friendly atmosphere and a great philosophy about tipping. You can really feel that the owners care very much about their restaurant and providing a space where people can eat out safely. The bakery and desert selections are fantastic, and everything is as wonderful as it looks. My only request would be for some more food options for vegetarian meals.

Very disappointed. Ordered a BLT on rye toast. $ 9.95! Very tasteless, tiny slice of tomato and one leaf of lettuce with a bag of chips. Bread completely lacked moisture and very small slices. Also, friend ordered the small mushroom pizza. The small number of slices of mushrooms was ridiculous. $ 20. More than $ 30. for simple lunch with cups of water only. Way overpriced for what we got. We will not be back. The sandwich was served and about 10 minutes later the pizza was served! Unacceptable.

Couldn’t ask for better service. They are truly committed to caring for people with allergies and serving food that nourishes your health. Food was delicious too, and a wonderful tea selection for all us tea lovers.

One of my faves. I’ve been here twice already, and I am just very appreciative of the effort put into this establishment. As someone with many food allergies and sensitivities, it’s hard finding a place to eat out at. This place is the perfect solution, catering to ALL of my special dietary needs. The prices are a little steep(understandable), so I can’t come often, but I do try to treat myself every once in a while. Just a note, in my experience, the food is just a little on the bland side… Needs more seasoning.

I was greeted when waking in, which was nice. They immediately ask you about any food allergies and this is definitely the place if you have a myriad of allergies. They bring the food out to you. I ordered chicken fingers and fries(which I normally love). I didn’t finish the chicken as it was too well done, close to burnt. The rest of the staff was nice and accommodating. One warning for any parents with infants or young children. They have a sign that emphatically states no outside food allowed, including baby food and formula. I understand they are trying to keep this a safe haven for those with allergies, but I’m not sure I understand the ban on formula. Are there allergins in formula? It’s a place I would be hesitant about going with an infant if you can’t feed them(except nursing infants). Overall, a nice place and great for those with allergies or just trying to eat healthier!

One of the best restaurants I’ve gone to. Their food is amazing, they have everything gluten free, dairy free and vegan… They also have gluten free with real dairy for those whom are not having dairy allergies. They also have deserts that are gluten free, dairy free. Another amazing thing about this restaurant is that they have real home made French fries and I’m talking about real home made fries!!! It tastes just like u made it at home last but not least this restaurant contain no soy, oat, peanuts, eggs, sell fish, tree nuts, sesame The owner is such an amazing, kind lady, she went over everything on the menus with me and I’m soooo soooo please by the great taste of food and everything I had there today. I highly recommend this restaurant to those who are seeking real gluten free dairy free place to eat at. I really hope she opens a location near Rockville area one day

Very good gluten free vegan burger, still excellent with vegan cheese and mayo. Yummy and filling. I did not get the veggie Margarita pizza since that was too much last time.

I bet you all the money in the world that you’ve never had banana bread this good ever in your life, because there’s none better… no banana bread is better. I’m so serious.

Not only is the food high quality & safe for me to eat, but I learn SO much about my gluten intolerance by coming to One Dish Cuisine. I love visiting because the owners knew my food needs by the second visit, my name by the third, and are always very welcoming and helpful! The meat is high quality, just like the stuff I buy at home, and I’m happy to pay more for higher quality ingredients. It’s always neat to hear how far people have come from to eat here, and the food is totally worth it! Even if you don’t have anyone with you who has a food allergy or sensitivity, it’s definitely worth the visit!

This is a great place to eat. Wonderful food and allergen free. I had the small cheese pizza and I was surprised by how good it was.

As most people describe this is an incredible find for those of us with varying food issues. The gluten-free pizza crust was the best I have ever had. The owner explained my different options. When I told her I did not care for their non-dairy cheese on pizza, she encouraged me to try it with their nondairy cream sauce instead. It was delightfully superb. What you get here is great tasting food with attention to food sensitivities. You also get amazing passion from the owners. They know what they are doing and go for quality(i.e. they do not use heat lamps because heat lamps only dry out the food). If I lived closer, it would be a treat to come for breakfast. They are talking about franchising and I would love to see a café closer to me! However, visiting here would be an occasional treat as though the place caters to food sensitivities and prepared in-house, the ingredients are highly refined. I eat plant-based, gluten-free foods. I can eat here but there are a lot of starches and white-rice flours used. I can understand the need for the plastic and paperware but it undercutted the yumminess of the food. I wonder if they would let me bring in some of my own dishes? :)

I found this place to be an amazing place, especially for those with serious food issues. Not only do they have many choices to include amazing baked goods, but they make everything from scratch… They stated that they do this as a means of controlling the ingredients. These days our food is so contaminated and they do a great job in controlling all ingredients, including having a second kitchen to control for allergens and cross contamination. Great work! Let me add, if you know anyone that has celiac disease, please let them know!

Found a new favorite at One Dish. They have an incredible variety of options catering to all sorts of food allergies and conditions, even the complex. There are entrees, snacks, and baked goods all cooked in dedicated kitchens free of nuts, gluten, dairy, or there allergens. Oh, and did I mention their GF pizza? Give them a try. You won’t be disappointed!

I had a great lunch here at One Dish. Finally, a dairy free red pepper tomato bisque! It was bursting with flavor and nicely seasoned. I ordered the grilled Rachel, with Daiya cheese on the homemade«rye.» The overall creamy yummy sandwich was great. I had to try their fries on the side. Thinly cut, super crispy, I loved them! I feel like I have to warn my 2015 American counterparts that portion sizes are small. They’re what portion sizes were in the 1950s. It meant I could try a little bit of everything without getting too much food and its a good reminder of where we should be. Prices have been mentioned as being higher, but that’s what happens when you’re not eating factory made food. I will be back for pizza and baked goods!

I’m sad I didn’t like this place! The atmosphere and staff were great but the food was a definite thumbs down. I’m a vegan and my fiancé isn’t so we figured this place would be a great compromise for both of us to eat. I ordered the black bean burger with daiya cheese then he got a cheesesteak sandwich. My burger was large and looked/smelled great but it had absolutely no flavor! Like I had to add salt to it to tolerate it! It was essentially a patty of mashed canned black beans on a bun with no seasoning at all. Not really what I was looking for at all. Fries were good though… But also lacked salt. My fiancé wasn’t totally wild about his sandwich he described it as below to average. The crazy thing is that my burger came with fries and his cheesesteak which was roughly $ 5 more than mine came with a package of Utz plain chips. Like really? If you pay $ 15 for a sandwich the least you can do is give some fries :( To top off the meal it was kinda pricey for why was received. 2 sandwiches for $ 31 and the need for one person to go home and eat more food is a definite 4 thumbs down in my book :( But again the staff were very friendly and the environment was cute… Sadly that’s not enough though
