I first heard the name Piggly Wiggly mention in «Sweet Home Albama», the movie with Reese Witherspoon and Josh Lucas(he looked so hot in that movie) okay moving on. I though that it was just a made up store for the movie but when I googled it I was surprised that it was a real place! So, when my husband and I were on a trip to Georgia and exploring around, we stumbled across the infamous(at least in my mind) Piggly Wiggly. I forced to my husband to stop and go inside. He had no clue why I was so eager to go to a grocery store when we really didn’t need to but he obliged. The store itself was on the smaller side. I’d compare it to the Northgate in Long Beach on Pacific Ave. For those familiar with the LBC area and know what store I’m talking about; well it’s a bit, hum how shall I say modest. It’s definitely not a Gelson’s or Bristol Farms. In the case of Piggly Wiggly it’s no Ingles. Nonetheless, it’s fairly well organized and decently stocked. The employees are very nice and friendly. But, the overall selection of items is rather basic and limited. The prices are not much lower than it’s higher end counter parts. In all, the store is your average run of the mill grocery store. No frills or thrills. This is more of the store were I would go and get basics a quick and to the point shopping experience. Piggly Wiggly isn’t the store where I would shop more leisurely, wonder up an down the isles seeing what catches my eyes and finding new things to try. It serves its purpose though.
