Tried to visit this past Saturday afternoon around 1:45 for lunch and no hostess or people in restaurant. After walking in and waiting 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us we left. We saw one waiter in shorts and tattoos who ignored us at the hostess stand. How about saying someone will be with your shortly. You lost your chance with us and we won’t be back.

Ordered a Philly cheesesteak. The food was mediocre but still good. The service was friendly and quick. The menu had many options and for that reason, I will likely try it again. However don’t expect to be blown away by how unique they are. It’s comparable to Corner Bar, etc. Very nice and comfortable atmosphere and bar.

Well… Not very good at all. Daughter took me here fir BD lunch. Food was sub-par at best. Got the Ruben & fries. Simple order. Sand was very, very greasy. Fries appeared to be «from lunch hour or day-before» & cold. Wine was not very good, very small glass & pour & $ 9 !! Pricey! Go somewhere else. Daughter agreed. Not a place for us! Sorry!

I have only used Unilocal to look at reviews but today, January 10th, Monty’s deserved a much needed review. I came in earlier today at Monty’s with my hubby and our kids after hearing only good things from some friends. Walking into the restaurant it really didn’t look like anything special… And it was freezing! I didn’t know if it was colder inside or out! We were seated in a booth and started looking at the menu. The menu was filled with plenty of delicious sounding things to choose from. We were greeted by our server, Carrie and asked her to give us an overview of the menu. My hubby and I were impressed with how much she knew and loved that she gave us her opinion on what to get, then later we found out she was the youngest server there. Crazy! Thumbs up Carrie! Plus she was very sweet and patient with our kids. I ended up ordering the suggested Carolina grilled cheese, my hubby got the Volcano burger, and both of the kids got chicken strips from the kids menu. Within 10 minutes our food was hot on the table. I’m embarrassed to say, but we devoured everything! The Carolina Grilled cheese is to die for, and my hubby raved about his burger! All in all, it was a great time minus being freezing!(Heat please next time!?) I’m already craving another Carolina Grilled Cheese, and we hope to be served by our cute server again! Thanks Monty’s for a great experience!

The food is not bad, my friend had a rueben I ordered the pork tenderloin. The tenderloin showed up greasy and not appetizing — looking. They were really nice and let me switch and I chose the at Louis cheesesteak instead. The sandwiches were in remarkable. The Pastrami on the rueben was a little thick slices and some grissle in it. The cheesesteak was hot but the onion and Green pepper was cut sort of large and not really cooked enough. Could be much better.

Great place to take the family! They have amazing fries and large portions. Their Reuben Soup is absolutely delicious! My ten year said it was the best soup he has ever had!

Overall good food and atmosphere, but nothing that will«knock your socks off.» Typical grill with bar. I had the buffalo chicken wrap and my wife had the chicken salad. Both dishes were good. We saved room for the chocolate cake dessert and it was just average chocolate cake — probably store bought but it wasn’t bad. Everything was a little pricey, but maybe as this business continues to grow their prices will drop a bit.

Saw this place driving down on Manchester. We were out that way and wanted to try something new. We got there around 6pm and was seated right away. The drinks was good. But who can mess up jack and coke?. We ordered wings with buffalo sauce and they were very good! Smoked wings I think. Then I ordered the 16oz rib eye and that was delicious! Our overall experience with the atmosphere and our server was good. Not too loud. It was a nice neighborhood kinda family restaurant.

I met my college chum for lunch May 18. We had a nice booth, a friendly server and water at the ready. This place is a regular bar-restaurant place. Nothing spectacular in the way of décor. She got the Carolina Grilled Cheese($ 10) — House-smoked pulled pork, bbq sauce, sharp cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses on parmesan encrusted white with a side of BBQ sauce. She chose fries as her side. Other sides available were house-made chips or coleslaw. I got the Monty Burger($ 11) — Topped with American cheese; served with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. I also chose fries as my side, ’cause there was not much else available. I liked the accoutrements for the burger. The first thing I did was pull those pickle strips out of the sandwich and eat them separately. YUM! Next thing I did was ditch the bun. She liked her sandwich a lot more than I liked my burger. It was A-OK, but they didn’t ask me how I wanted it cooked. And it was a little over-done to my liking. I don’t like raw meat when it’s ground beef, but this was still more than what I like. The fries were a welcomed not-crinkle-cut frozen fries from your service provider. But they weren’t terrific, even with sea salt. Just kinda limp. Some were crispy. Most were not. I had a recyclable to-go vessel of half my burger and most of my fries. I ended up ditching the fries. The burger was a meager dinner. Still. .. another meal.

The ribs are great. Very tasty sauce with right amount of smokeness. The fries were nice and warm. The coleslaw had a different taste, might have been buttery. But that was awesome as well. The only reason I took off a star was service. The wait staff is a work in progress. Let’s hope progress leads to perfection.

Tried Monty’s for the first time and wasn’t disappointed. Food was good and Customer service was even better. My daughters were asleep in the car, so a server came out to the car to get my order and brought me my food to go so I didn’t have to wake them. Completely above and beyond. I really appreciated it. Had the Kuban and it was a good sized, tasty sandwich. No complaints at all and would definitely get again. Fries were good too, reminded me of fries you get at the fair. Would highly recommend Monty’s and can’t wait to go back to actually eat at the restaurant.

The BBQ burger, shrimp Po boy wrap, and the cards nest were amazing! I did not like their shrimp and grits it had an overwhelming smokey maple flavor. I’ve had shrimp and grits at other restaurants in the area and this was by far the worst! The service was terrible! The burgers, wraps, and onion rings will keep me coming back. I’m excited to try other items on the menu but will defiantly get it to go for now on!

They should get dinged for the high noise factor but I let that slide on this one. My mom didn’t like that part of it all and I normally downgrade a place for it. But, the food impressed me as being very fresh with us ordering the shrimp and grits(leave off the maple syrup) that also came with a Caesar salad(very fresh). The Big Mag with good homemade fries and some fresh coleslaw as an extra side was enough for me. The Big Mag is their version of the Big Mac and was as well a made burger as I have had … not saying the best burger ever, just saying fresh, well put together and similar enough to the namesake to be reminded of it, but much better. I was in the mood for a burger and it was just right. I would order it again. I’ll go back. My feeling on the prices is they are about right for the freshness and quality. The grits could have been a bit more solid but that and the noise are the only negatives for me. Quick and friendly service and a responsive management makes it worth a visit. A nice addition to this part of West County.

Ate here twice now in the last week, they had great food service, we had no wait times, either time! The servers were both very attentive and helpful! The food was cooked well! Had sandwiches both times, they give large portions for a price of $ 10 – 11. I also had the cesar salad to start off, it had homemade savory croutons and the dressing was YUMMY! The food was very fresh, and they are heavy on the meat for the sandwiches(if that’s what you like)! We split the chicken club the first visit and the roast beef for the second visit, both were flavorful and cooked well! The fries that come with it are homemade toped with sea salt, DELICIOUS! I would highly recommend this place, good addition to the ellisville community!

Over priced for average, greasy, pedestrian food and horrible service. Sever even mixed up receipts with the table next to us but I predicted it would happen before it did. Then the server came back to our table with a different table’s bill and a box to take home food when we didn’t even have food to take home. Even the table next to us had issues. We don’t plan to return and I doubt this place lasts.

Great service despite how busy they were. We got there by 5:40 on Friday and it was already filled up. Food delicious. We started with onion straws… Super fast delivery. I had the big mag but it was too much to finish. Yummmm. My daughters had French dip and BLT. Fries are hand cut and fresh. Bread and rolls were soft with a nice crust. Each meal was about $ 11 but worth the food. I looked and saw most people didn’t finished their sandwiches. Overall excellent service. So glad to have somewhere new to eat with great food. We will definitely be back again

Home run!!! I love the downtown location but this new one helps those that can’t wait for them to open up on the weekend or deal with the early closing. Everything here is homemade and awesome! I was rolling with my mom and cousin and we all had the Buffalo chicken Philly(diced fried chicken tossed with buffalo sauce, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, chopped bacon and blue cheese). The bread was fresh but it really took from what should have been the star — the buffalo chicken. It was also very light on sauce. With such a thick bread it could definitely handle extra sauce as it was almost dry. We asked for more sauce and out it came. After we all added it — immediate smiles — extra sauce is all it needed. They have an extensive burger menu and I love that there was no discrimination on the menu for non meat eaters(even though it’s listed under Non-Burgers”, lol — black bean burgers are too!!!). The décor is cool and the service was great. Shout out to the ultra cute & friendly Carrie — 22% tip for you. Before I knew it, I had more sauce and a new drink. Steven B would be happy to know there are cloth napkins here too. For something sweet at the end we went with funnel cake fries(with chocolate and marshmallow dipping sauce). Totally good & a great kick off to Super Bowl weekend. Go local and head to Ellisville for good eats and sweet treats!
