They serve a variety of different slices that are prepared and laid out, then warmed in the pizza oven upon purchase. The pizza is thin and delicious, and true NY thin crust pizza. I just tried their meatball parm sub for lunch today, and it was huge and yummy(i ordered the small)… The fresh bread was delicious on its own, and when added to the marinara, cheese, and meatballs, it was perfect. Definitely stop here.

I’ve been here twice and had 4 different pizza slices. Have to say the pizza is the best I’ve had in Ellsworth. The staff behind the counter is helpful and has great attitude. I agree with the other reviewers that more time could be invested in the seating area. keeping it clean for example. Seems like the tables are there because there is room for them, not because they want to have table service. At my last visit I noticed way more«to go» slices than folks who ate there. The Bianca is my favorite right now!

It ain’t fancy, but it’s darn good!!! Finelli’s is a staple for our family. Dinner in or carry out, we’ve never had a bad meal.

Great thin crust Pie! Good atmosphere for a couple slices and a beer. If you’re looking sit down dine in experience you may want to look elsewhere, but I bet that comfy joint with cloth napkins won’t come close when it comes to the taste of the pizza.

Don’t know what the guy from Philadelphia was smoking, but this was the worst pizza that I have had in a long time. Thin crust was tough, tasted like cardboard. Splotched tomato sauce, with very little cheese. $ 14.00, what a gyp. Guess there are enough tourists to keep them busy. On the way there, drove by Pat’s, parking lot full. Should have turned on there.

Pizza was great, topped and cooked exactly as ordered. Service was quick and friendly. We ate in, lost a star because they have no ice for soda’s(not broken, just don’t have ice); and it is kind of an odd décor.(And not odd in a good way). Clean it up, get the stuff a real restaurant has, solid 5’s.

1. Dirty 2. Tasteless 3. Overpriced Ordered a meatball sub, and it was cold. The sad part about this was that they use a microwave to cook it and still couldn’t get it hot. Even after telling the woman at the counter it was horrible and cold, she didn’t care. No offer for something else or a refund.

Great pizza and craft beer. What else could you want? The Carnivorous Rex is AWESOME!

Year after year they still offer a great pie, especially by the slice or as a pie in house. Something is lost when you take the pie home. You can have two slices and a beer for $ 8. Best pie in downeast Maine!

Look, I don’t wanna be that guy from New York. You know who I am talking about. That pr! ck, that no matter where they are, no food is «real» unless it is made in New York City(or LI or wherever.) I hate that guy. I wanna pimp-slap his ass until he goes back to Brooklyn. But no matter how annoying his presumption that no food is real unless it is made in NY, you have to give him this: There is a reason why a pizza place would want to promote their business as having«NY Pizza.» Having said that, Finelli’s ain’t it. I have had their pizza 3 times now, and it’s not good. The crust is always overcooked and difficult to chew. When the pizza gets cold, it is no longer palatable(good NY pizza should still be delicious cold.) I don’t know why I keep giving them chances. There is better pizza even at the damn shell station down the street. Here was the kicker for me: I called up last week to ask if I could get a Sicilian pie. The girl answering the phone said, «what’s that?» OK, first of all, if you have the balls to call yourself NY pizza, then a) someone from NY should be able to recognize it as such, and b) everyone working there should know what Sicilian pizza is! How do they get to keep calling themselves NY pizza when their product doesn’t even come close to NY? Seriously, since moving here I have had good pizza(Jason’s in Brewer, Reel Pizza in Bar Harbor) but in Ellsworth, people seem to accord Finelli’s as being the place to go for pizza, and the only reason I can think of for this is that they just haven’t had NY pizza before, so they don’t realize what charlatans in the world of NY pizza that Finelli’s is. They should NOT be allowed to call themselves NY pizza, in fact, they should NOT be allowed to call themselves«Finelli’s!» I don’t even care if it’s their actual last name, they don’t deserve to use an Italian surname in conjunction with their substandard product. They should take the final ‘i’ out of the name and call themselves«Finell’s Irish Pizza.» By the way, I give them two stars instead of one because their sauce is not altogether horrible. Take that sauce, put it on a decent crust, get a good full-fat cheese, and hire someone who can make a NY pizza worth a f!@#, not a lifelong Mainer who wouldn’t know what NY pizza looks, feels, smells, and tastes like, and they can call themselves«Finellli’s NY Pizza.» Until then, I will be calling it «Finell’s» and staying far away from it.

I had a slice of the pesto tomato, and a slice of the saucy baby, which has chicken, bacon, bbq sauce, pineapple, and jalapeño… both were really good! Paired with a beer(or glass of wine)…yum!

Great pizza. Quirky atmosphere. Awesome place to grab a slice or an entire pie. We eat here frequently when we are in the area. Worth checking out. Great pizza and bear special.

Our first visit this season(we are summer residents in the area) and pleasantly surprised at the new look. Very tastefully remodeled with fresh bright colors and new tables. It looked much cleaner than before. Their lunch special, two huge slices of pizza with beer or wine, is a bargain at $ 8.00. For one of my slices, I chose the bacon, onion and green pepper. It was one of the best slices I have ever had and we have enjoyed pizza all over the lower 48. Can’t wait to go back and have this one again. If they don’r have it by the slice, I will order one like it. We have always had good, courteous and friendly service here and are having a hard time understanding the(few) bad reviews.

Pizza was ok but not 5 star. Wings were lousy. They had doors and windows open inviting in all sorts of bugs and heat. Very odd kind of place indeed.

Finelli’s has the best pizza in Ellsworth but it also has the most expensive pizza in Ellsworth. I would never eat inside of the restaurant it typically feels Dirty and with cobwebs on the walls. Definitely overpriced but if you have the money and don’t feel like eating inside of a restaurant Finelli’s is great for pizza.

Reading a couple previous reviews about bad service didn’t seem to make sense as I experienced nothing but good service here. I had to wait an extra minute at the checkout because they were training a new hire. Big deal! He even thanked me for my patience after. Can’t ask for more polite service than that. The décor was rustic which reminded me of my childhood in NY going to various pizza places. There is even an antique dough machine on display which is a good conversation piece. As for the food, the pepperoni pizza was very good. It had a very thin and crispy crust and a well seasoned sauce. I also tried the Italian Grinder with the house Italian dressing. This was a very good sandwich with plenty of meat, cheese, and veggies. Tasted very fresh! The only knock on the food was the pizza by the slice was only lukewarm, if it wasn’t for that it would be 5 stars easily. After I got in my truck to leave, an employee carried an older ladies pizzas(4) to her car for her. Good food and good service! What more can you ask for from a pizza joint?

People who have given this good reviews, I feel, haven’t had good pie before. So, we ordered here the first time, last year when we were on vacation. We were told 20 minutes. We go to pick up… The guy forgot to put our order in. Well, that’s awesome. So, we sat in the parking lot until the pie was done. No, «I was too stoned and forgot to bake your pie» discount, no free soda, no apology. Nothing. Crust was pancake flat and not cooked all the way. But, some how the toppings were searing(sp) hot. So hot, that all the cheese would pull of the slice in the first bite. Very greasy too. Being that everyone deserves a second chance, we tried them again about 1 month ago. Crust was too well done this time around and the toppings were just the same. A heaping, sloppy, greasy mess. Not sure how they get away with«Authentic New York Pizza». Just a ploy, if you ask me. PS — Their sign says delivery, but they don’t. Why is it so hard to find good pie in this area? No one has gotten it right yet.

My husband and I don’t get good pizza in Maine often but we know the one place we can always count on and it’s Finelli’s! Delicious New York style pizza with great prices. I also enjoyed some tiramisu and a side salad in really generous portions. Can’t wait to come back! Yum!

Horrible service matched by terrible food. I don’t like to put people down but the lady at the counter will hands down win any contest for dummies. Rang me up wrong, even was putting down my order wrong in front of me when I corrected her. Did the same to a couple currently sitting across me. Said she was new but it doesn’t take 10 years to just listen to the customer and take the right order and charge the current price. It’s 30 minutes already and haven’t got my pizza yet. Lost my appetite. The pizza came after about 35 minutes. It’s straight from the oven, almost boiling hot, slimy and disgustingly falling off. I can’t imagine what the others ate who gave good reviews. Probably bottled water.

Ellsworth isn’t littered with great restaurants. Meanwhile, Finelli’s bucks the trend by providing good pizza at an affordable price. This is a walk up to the counter and order type of a place, rather than a full service restaurant and it provides a relaxed atmosphere. I think you’ll be challenged to find someone who doesn’t enjoy their experience here. For starters, their pizza is solid. It’s not the best you’ll ever have, but does blow away any chain style pizza you’d consider ordering. Our pizza’s crust was awesome and the cheese/toppings were cooked to perfection. The garlic bread was just average, but the chef’s salad did a good job at bringing fresh lettuce to the table, good veggies and tasty Italian dressing. This is a great place to end the day after touring Bar Harbor or Acadia National Park. There’s cheap beer on tap for adults, and it’s relaxed enough for kids to be themselves. And, more important, it tastes great.
