The ice cream is delicious and cheap, the people are great, and the location is gorgeous! I highly recommend this place to anyone else who wants to eat ice cream during a snowstorm.

Been to this location a couple of times. I usually get moose tracks or pecan praline. I tried the Italian ice this time and it was awesome. Pomegranate was great. Prices are good too. I get the small size and it’s a huge serving. What do the double scoops look like?!

Cool atmosphere, fun paintings, and delicious ice cream.
Took my 1 year old here.
We decided to go with a maple bacon cupcake (from courage with cupcakes) and butter pecan ice cream.
The bees knees. I used an awesome groupon and got $ 13 of ice cream for $ 6.
It worked out excellent. Cool place to take the kids for some random ice cream cravings.

Two scoops for $ 2,70 is a STEAL! They have all sorts of ice creams here, vegan, soy, Italian ice, and ice cream. I got the Pistachio and it was delicious. The Italian ices were tasty as well. I would go back if I’m in the area again.

My girlfriend and I really like this place. Good ice cream, good service! I don’t frequent Elmhurst much, but when I do, this is the go to place for ice cream!

Satisfyingly good. Went for traditional flavors of vanilla and chocolate. Their «junior» cone or cup is two fairly sizable scoops. Considering this was an after dinner indulgence there wasn’t anyway I was going to be able to consume their 3 scoop or 4 scoop options.

We have been frequenting Brain Freeze since it opened a few years ago and can’t say enough good things about them! They offer the same professional, friendly service whether we are the only ones in there or if we are part of the after school rush. This past weekend, I ordered a Float Bar for my daughter’s birthday party. I had coordinated cups that I dropped off earlier in the week and Kristen and Mitch Hoel, the owners, not only personally delivered the pre scooped ice cream and soda bottles, but even stayed to serve all the kids. I was not expecting them to stay and really appreciated it, as well as the coffee shakes they brought along for my husband and me. They go above and beyond and are an incredible asset to our community.

I really liked this place. It’s in a small strip off Park ave parallel to the train tracks in Elmhurst. Got the Brewpoint Coffee shake and it was very good. A small place, decent selection of ice cream. I’ll go back if I’m in the area. They do have vegan options and the prices are reasonable.

Excellent local ice cream shop! The owners are super friendly the location is great and the price is right! Oh and the ice cream is really good too! Even have Vegan ice cream for my Vegan daughter! Love this place!

For what this place is, I’m sure it serves it’s purpose. I think of Elmhurst teens in the summer crowding downtown. Ice cream is on display in dirty freezers with dropped scoops and ice build up. Cross contamination present. Those two things turned me off right away. Cheap-​ish quality product, outside vendors provide all ice cream and cones. You pay for what you get, Ice creams loaded with artificial colors and favors.
Service was bare bones, the blonde who helped me was on her laptop when I waked in, I thought she was a customer at first. After I stood looking at the menu she got up and came behind the counter (without washing hands) and offered me a sample. No extra small talk, perhaps that is why workers can be surfing the web on a sunny June afternoon?
Overall will not be back. Will not recommend. Better choices within a walking distance that are cleaner.

Brain Freeze is a local ice cream shop in downtown Elmhurst. It’s got some interesting gluten-​free choices (I suspect lactose-​free isn’t going to be an option for some time) and their flavors look good, though each tub doesn’t appear to be made on-​site. Nonetheless if you’re going to walk here from Wilder Park in the summer, you’ll still find some better-​than-​that-​31-​flavors-​place flavors here.
Anyways, I had the Tartino (sp?), which is rum-​flavored with almonds. This was yummy, I’m not convinced it’s real rum, and it’s a bit less creamy than I usually like. But there was a good amount of almonds. (My wife’s chocolate mint and kid’s strawberry were more creamy, and along the lines of what I was expecting!) They were able to fit quite a bit of ice cream in a sugar cone, which I appreciated.
Service was adequate. The interior is a bit dark. I’m not sure who’s designing independent ice cream parlors these days, but lighten it up, guys!

Hands down, the BEST ice cream in Elmhurst and for miles around. The staff are awesome, the flavors are creative and delicious, and I personally love the Italian ice. So lucky to have Brain Freeze in Elmhurst!

I thought we were going to really love this place. We love (LOVE) ice cream, and Brain Freeze has really good reviews. However, to our dismay, it seemed like nothing special.
I had cookies and cream and my husband had pistachio almond. Neither tasted particularly fresh or flavorful. Little guy had dairy free cookie dough… he enjoyed it a lot, but he would devour a cardboard box with a smile on his face if you told him it was ice cream.
There was some crazy weird music playing, so maybe it just didn’t set the mood for us to enjoy our ice cream. We’d try Brain Freeze again just to see if maybe it’d be better another time, especially with the Unilocal deal available.
