I was their noodle fan in flushing, I’m very happy that they got a new store in Elmhurst. Some of my friends told me their noodles isn’t good as flushing so I told myself try something else. Except the noodles other stuff is very tasty especially the sausage fried rice!

A new Taiwanese joint in the neighborhood, Happy Stony offers authentic Taiwanese cuisine that makes my tastebuds happy! The stinky tofu is especially stinky here(a major plus!) and the beef tendon noodles are flavorful.

This Taiwanese restaurant is awesome ! I’ve ordered food from here several times in the last month and really like the quality of their beef stew. I recommend their beef stew noodle soup and their beef stew over rice. The beef is cooked perfectly and literally melts in your mouth. The soup is meh and can be better but the noodles are great. I also recommend their fried chicken nuggets over rice which is normally a fan favorite in Taiwanese restaurants. I find it odd that it does not come with the spicy mayo sauce like the ones in Flushing Mall. Their Shrimp Fried rice is also delicious but for some reason, it was cooked differently when we ordered it on two separate days. The first time it was fried and had a soy sauce looking color to it, the second time it was completely white and had edamame beans… All in all, it’s a good place for a good meal.

Beef Noodle de-construct: Broth — bland; missing the complexity of the beef and herb. Noodle — cooked perfectly, but taste and texture are off. Not the same as original. Passable. Beef — cooked perfectly, tender and chewy. Watercress with garlic — perfectly cooked with good wok flavor. PS: Please bring back duck leg noodle soup.

Long a staple in downtown Flushing, this beef noodle soup joint has since moved to New World Mall and now recently to Elmhurst. The beef noodle soup with tendon is my favorite, since the meat is softer and chewy. The soup base, which is critical, is slightly heavy on soy sauce and doesn’t allow the natural beef flavor to come through. However, the noodles are ample and nicely cooked. The appetizers are also decent, and I’d recommend the cucumbers, seaweed, and tofu. Nice décor as well. Faces less competition than in Flushing, so it’s business should be better.

Got take out from here, its delicious. The minced pork over rice was a big portion and lots of sauce to cover the entire rice. The stinky tofu was great as well.

Great food, and the amount of food for the price is amazing. Good amount of beef in the beef noodle soup. Much more than what I had in elsewhere. Deserve my review.

The beef noodles is not good. The broth lacks flavor. It seems that It is made from beef stew sauce rather than stock made from beef bone. Other items we tried were OK, but for a beef noodle place, those count little.
I have never eaten so unpalatable food. And service was very bad. The waitress has been rude to say that my baby’s smile is fake many times, my baby just 14 months old. We stay in this restaurant only half and hour, but we felt very unhappy, especially my baby. I don’t know why the waitress did this, my baby was sitting in the highchair for this 30 minutes! So I never go to this restaurant!

Service is okay. I recognized the owner from her previous restaurant in Flushing. The food on the other hand, not up to par. I don’t mean not up to par in terms of Taiwan standards. I mean not up to par even compared to her previous food establishment. For a beef noodle shop, that should be it’s signature but it was not good. The noodle itself was alright but the soup base was inexcusable. The beef and tendons were acceptable. We also ordered fried chicken cutlet and stinky tofu. The fried chicken cutlet was horrendous. Oh my, i don’t know what batter and what oil they fried it in, I almost threw up after the first bite. The stinky tofu was good for the first few pieces but then it become cloying. It definitely is too expensive for this quality(or lack of).

I don’t think this beef noodle joint is the same one as the one In flushing. The beef noodle soup was ok… but everything else we had was good. The pork roll, which is pronounced ji-juen…which sounds like it is a chicken roll is actually pork. Never understood why that was. Lol. Anyway… the shredded pork and bamboo is pretty good and also the cold plates were pretty good, along with the beef scallion pancake roll and stinky tofu. I would come back. The prices are reasonable. Hope you guys enjoy it also.

Came here a few times since the first time was just eh. There is this one server that isn’t too nice but the rest of the staff were. Place is kept clean and nice(where chao thai 2 use to be) I was excited before they opened because of the noodle soup and how they were located in flushing previously. I’ve ordered the bamboo shoots with pork over rice which i really enjoyed. Stinky tofu was stinky but the sauce was really bland. The oyster pancake was pretty decent and the small cold dishes that they offer. Here’s to the noodles that we tried twice. Pig feet noodle soup, bland like water. At first i though maybe it was just not a good day, but when we went back again to give it another try, same… BLAND. This sucks because they have so many noodle soup options!!! I will be back for the other cooked food but i don’t think i’ll give the noodle soup another go.

What once was a glorious restaurant in flushing has now become a shadow of what it used to be. Service has always been terrible but the food justified dealing with the bad service. Restaurant was empty and yet the waitress instead of grabbing my soda stood chatting to another waitress until I asked if perhaps she forgot my order. What used to be a beef noodle full of he intense complexity of hours boiled beef broth is now a bland substitute where overwhelming 5 spice is used to cover a subpar broth. The noodle consistency is still just as good but without the proper broth it’s bland and tasteless. If your looking for the old happy noodle from flushing that we all used to love, don’t expect it here. It’s like the owners have lost their focus on quality :(a sad day for us noodle lovers m…

Second(Third?) Coming. Of Noodles. First Taiwanese Beef Noodle place that I’ve had in NYC that I actually enjoyed since Happy Beef Noodle closed. Was subsequently told that this place was opened by the same owners… which makes … sense. If you’ve had Happy Beef I can stop here. If not: RIP( ) Beef & Tendon Noodle Soup. Combo of Sausage /Bean Curd /Tendon Apps. Ultimate Taiwanese comfort food. Do it.

This is a new Taiwanese restaurant where Chao Thai 2 used to be. We checked this place out for the first time tonight on a Wednesday night and it was packed with people literally waiting outside. It was actually really strange to see this place packed as CT2 was always pretty empty. Many of the patrons were Taiwanese which was definitely a good sign especially given that this isn’t really a Taiwanese neighborhood. As for the food, everything was good — better than expected. Oyster omelette was definitely better than most other NYC places and the pork chop over rice was delicately crispy if that makes any sense. The style is definitely different from that of 66 but nonetheless very good. Beef stew noodle soup was also different — the broth was much more mellow than what I’m used to but not in a bad way. Overall, it was very impressive at reasonable prices. I can’t wait to try their other dishes.
