I would give this place no stars but overall I wasn’t a true fan. I ordered a falafel platter and the server did not even bother to take the two last pieces of pita out of the packet in which it came and simply plonked it onto my plate. Furthermore, their falafel was«average» at best. Apart from the unprofessionalism, the price was to high. I definitely expected more, especially for the rating it had been given. Pass.

I went to try the Chicken Shawarma. I had read a few good reviews about this place. It was a good, tasty sandwich, a good portion size for $ 7. Fresh bread and nice amount of chicken inside. Friendly staff, casual style place, I would go back again.

Easily the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had. The owner is magnificent, and they hire good people(it seems). They make an incredible gyro. I added hummus, hot sauce, and a falafel to my chicken gyro. I had it yesterday and I’m still drooling about it. In fact, this is the 4th or 5th different time I’ve thought about it since yesterday. Going to this place 2 – 3 a week at minimum.

Kefta kebab sandwich with felafel and soda for $ 6.99 was a great deal cuz I got there before 3PM. The only downside was that I expected the felafel to be on the side and they just put it inside the sandwich(and made it huge). It was a delicious lunch. My partner had a chicken kebab sandwich with a hot black tea to which they suggested that they add some fresh mint leaves. What a delicious tea that made!

I’ve ordered for delivery from this place a few times now. I thoroughly enjoy what they bring every time. Shawama is my usual go to when I order from any Mediterranean place when I’m unsure and they did it well.

King Falafel has been a pleasant surprise for my fellow work buddies and I. We’ve been hesitant to go for lunch, but a few months ago we gave it a try. Since then, we have been grabbing lunch at King Falafel at least once a week. The prices are great $ 6-$ 7 for a sandwich. Their falafel is well cooked and not overdone like I’ve noticed at some places. The chicken shawarma sandwich is my favorite, but I also love the kufta kebab sandwich. I usually add falafel to my sandwich for only $ 1 extra which is a definite plus. If you’re looking for quick takeout for lunch or dinner, definitely give this place a try.

I love Mediterranean food-falafel me up. I’m always ready. This place left me a bit underwhelmed-very, actually. And I gave it 2 chances. Allow me to mention it seems to be family owned and operated-the wait staff is very nice-a little pushy but in a well-meaning way. Basically, you’re being treated like family and they want you to try stuff! I wanted the chicken shawarma but oddly, they only make it on certain days. So I opted for the beef instead. The pita was good, so were the falafels but honestly, not extremely memorable or particularly delicious. My husband did say he really enjoyed his grilled chicken pita and the food overall. Maybe It’s me but if you need to grab a bite and don’t need it to be off-the-charts good, this is your place.

This place is legit… I loved it the first time that I went back the following day. Hummus is super fresh and give a huge portion. The chicken kabob and kufta pita sandwiches were packed with flavor and super inexpensive. Falafels were crispy and not overly greasy which is hard to find. Ordered a few more items, lehugmune(no idea on spelling) Greek salad, buffalo wings and everthing tasted great and had not one complaint which is hard for me. Ask for side of their homemade hot sauce, it’s bomb! Great place for takeout with resonance prices.

One of the best middle Eastern food in all of north jersey. The baba ghanoush is awesome. Service is excellent. They truly are king of falafel. I could tell the owner puts his heart into it. Highly recommended.

Just ordered from them, their food is awesome! This is real Arabic food! The taste is so flavorful, and I love the rice with the vermicili in it. I forgot what it’s called in Arabic but oh man so yummy! And the best part is the chicken was perfectly cooked unlike some other places I have reviewed recently. My new go to spot for Arabic!

King Falafel has become my go to for quick takeout. There are many great dishes to choose from but some of my favorites are the Falafel and Humus appetizers, the King Kebab platters, and baklava for desert. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on their menu. The only real downside is they take awhile to bring you the check, this has occurred on several occasions.

While sitting in my friends backyard yesterday by the pool around 1:30 pm we were getting hungry so I looked on Unilocal for something other than our usual italian subs and pizza and low and behold King Falafel popped up with my bookmark. We looked over the menu and being that I LOVE middle eastern food and falafel in general I was elected to order for the group! I decided on a large fatoush salad, falafel, lebneh, fries, toasted pita chips, pita bread, 2 chicken schwarma sandwiches and 1 lamb schwarma sandwich. I asked the man taking my order on the phone if he could have the driver call my cell phone when he arrives being we are in the back yard by the pool if he were to ring the door bell I would of never heard him. After about 20 mins I heard the dogs barking and low and behold there was the driver about to call my cell. The food was hot and fresh when it arrived. My fatoush salad was a big hit with my friends along with everything else I ordered. The falafel were large and flavorful with garlic and parsley I loved them. The lebneh was so refreshing and even my friends niece loved it, she was dipping everything in it. The schwarma sandwiches were amazing, the chicken was overflowing with tender meat and Israeli salad. The lamb schwarma was really tasty and flavorful and the bread was the bomb. I love when the bread is soft sometimes you get pita that is a little harder and its not as enjoyable. I’m so excited I found another spot to cure my falafel cravings! Can’t wait to come back!

King Falafel is definitely a hole in the wall!!! I must have passed this place at least a thousand times in my life before finally trying it out. The food tasted fresh, the homemade lemonade was amazing, and the owner really goes out of his way to make sure you are enjoying your stay there. Although the décor isn’t fancy and the environment is definitely casual, don’t let the appearance fool you! The food is as good as it gets! Pros + Falafel tastes amazing + Homemade juices are delicious + Service is great + Platter dish is awesome Cons — The owner should try to groom himself a little better — The place can get a bit smoky(they may have a ventilation issue, but owner looked like he is repairing it) If you live by here, you HAVE to try this place out!

Ambiance/Décor/Atmosphere: Yellow, cafeteria like, cafeteria style tables with some decent brown covered stools. Pretty dull, drab, and boring, but there is a monster TV on the wall to look at. Noise/sound level: We went about 6:30pm and there were a few covers inside with music playing and the sound level was not obnoxious, so I don’t see any issues here when you’re conversating with guests. Menu: The menu is on the medium size comprised of typical Middle Eastern an/Greek style dips, salads, kebabs, sandwiches, desserts, platters, and beverages. There are a few out of the ordinary more authentic items on this menu which makes it even more interesting. Way more variety than Juicy Platters too. Service: Initially, the service was a little rocky. One of the owners was insistent that my wife try her dinner the way he wanted to cook it. Um, no pal, we like what we like not what you tell us to like. But, the other owner came in and saved the day and let my wife order what she wanted how she wanted. Plus, we waited around longer than necessary waiting for someone to take our order, but it wasn’t too long. Food: I had the shawarma platter and my wife had the shawarma sandwich. I’m familiar with Middle Eastern and North African cuisine, but she is not and she had her sandwich made safe and she liked it. This was my first time having shawarma and I really liked it. It wasn’t superly seasoned, but not bland either. I think some of these other patrons have no taste buds. The meat went well with the basmati rice and I found the combo of both to be creamy and spot on. I also ordered falafel and found them to be equally creamy with a nice pronounced cumin flavor among others. The tahini, white(garlic mayo aioli) and green spicy sauces, and complimentary spicy olives and carrots were tasty as well. The meal was even tastier once I mixed all of these in with my shawarma and rice. Bar: None, but maybe BYOB Price: The price point is in the customer’s favor. It’s $ 12 for a shawarma platter which you get it with rice and a salad. With all the accompaniments(pita, dips, veggies) there’s enough food to make two more dinners out of. Overall: The owners are friendly but could use a brush up on service. The food is pretty flavorful, well seasoned, but not overly heartburn inducing seasoned. Yes, salt helps but it doesn’t really need it. I’d rather taste their cooking than a shaker of salt. Some people’s idea of bland is overstated in these reviews, and they take their misguided expectations out on the restaurant. Definitely better than Juicy Platters, and I plan to routinely go back.

I would give this place 2.5 but overall I wasn’t a true fan. I came here after reading so many great reviews. I had high expectations that when I bit into my schwarma sandwich, it would be the best thing ever. I was disappointed. First of all, they did not have meat, they only had chicken which was a let down b/c I was craving meat schwarma. The sandwich itself was mediocre. My friend got the same sandwich and felt the same way. They do have good prices, but the food was just eh. The food left a bad feel in my stomach. Just wasn’t for me.

My husband works near by and I was stopping by for lunch. I searched Unilocal and was super excited to find this place just a few minutes away. I love Mediterranean food and when I saw the ratings got hella excited(thank God for Unilocal lol). We ordered the Kufta and Chicken Kabob sandwiches along with an order of falafel. Hey if these people claim that they are the kings of falafel who are we to not judge for ourselves haha? The sandwiches were surprisingly big and filling for $ 5! I’ve been to other places where these type of sandwiches are small and not enough to fill my tummy. They were incredibly messy though so grab a bunch of napkins. The falafel was amazing. My mom tried one and said it was the best she ever had and she really enjoyed it which is major coming from a lady who hates falafel lol. Would definitely return! The price was right for decent food!
