Hi Fellow Unilocalers, Unfortunately, I don’t think you’re going to find Café Biere again :(Not yet anyways. This is in the Albany Patch for their new location, which is now also closed. Lmk if you guys find a good bottomless mimosa place!

OMG I can’t believe this place is closed now? I hear rumors that it has moved to another location, but I can’t find it. Can anyone update some info? Their website still has the same address. Café Biere was the BEST bottomless mimosas place I’ve EVER been too. First time I came was for a couple birthdays and we ended up in a cake fight. I brought out of towners here the second time around and yes they ended up with some puking here and there and people passing out. To sum it up, we had an AWESOMEBRUNCH and very MEMORABLE. Haha. The food was amazing too, very tasty. I recommend the mussels and french toast. My friends also liked their burgers. Luckily, the second time around we got to eat before we starting chugging down those delicious mimosas so I can accurately rate their food. I was amazed by the quality of food. What’s more memorable was their mimosas. They have amazing and unique flavors. My favorite was probably hibiscus but they also have pineapple, guava, even tamarind. They have different flavors each time. The first time I came, we waited about 2 hrs before a table opened. But they started giving us mimosas which made the wait bearable. The second time around, we came early enough to grab a table. I would recommend coming earlier cause people tend to linger and tables rarely open up after 12 pm. The staff is very nice and they really like to get to know their customers. They let the birthday girls in the back to mix their own mimosas which was very nice. They even let us stay late that day because it was a workers birthday and they had cake which ended up in a cake fight. Of course since alcohol is involved, it can get rowdy and the music can get loud. Don’t expect a place to catch up with your friends. It’s more of a party scene. Price is on the pricier end. With bottomless mimosas, except to pay ~$ 30 per person. It’s cash only so make sure you bring enough cash. Overall I had amazing experiences and would like to come back!!!

If you’re going for brunch, do yourself a favor, and make sure you have a designated driver. Then buy their brunch. The bottomless mimosas are… very bottomless. And different flavored! The guy who was pouring them out of a pitcher at each table let everyone know that if you don’t finish what’s in your glass, you don’t get to try the next flavor. Ok, ok. Let’s back track. The line was substantial. Especially for a table of 7. But they start dishing those mimosas out while you’re waiting. Get inside, order, food can take a bit, but that’s only because at any given moment on an early Sunday afternoon, this place is jam packed. So busy. But fun. At one point during our meal, after one member of our party was invited to help make and dish out the mimosas, everyone just started singing. I can’t even recall what was being sung, but it was being sung with vigor and camaraderie. The food is great, the mimosas are solid(well, most of them), and the staff and patrons are both friendly and fun. Café Biere is an experience.

**** CASHONLY **** We arrived a little after 9am and were seated immediately. By 9:30 there was a small crowd of people waiting outside. Pretty small space and can get loud. Standard brunch fare. The draw is their bottomless mimosas($ 17) with a rotation of fruit flavors. Looong wait for food. We were told of some«kitchen issue» while getting our mimosas topped off. The g/f got the Two Farm Fresh Poached Eggs($ 9 with Rosemary Brown Butter, roasted potatos and salad ). A lighter take on a benedict(which they have several varieties of on the menu). The eggs were nicely poached with runny yolks. Not much brown butter. Salad was fresh and nicely dressed. 3.5 stars. I had the Open-Faced Sandwich($ 12, Challah bread, béchamel sauce, ham, two eggs over easy, with sweet potatoes and salad ) It looked good, but the bread was overtoasted and hard to cut, even with the serrated knife provided. You might notice the dark bottom in this cross sectional shot where you can definitely see the eggs were beyond over easy( ). The sweet potato fries were limp, which my g/f likes, but I did not. 2.5 stars The owners bought Monteros on Solano Ave and have shifted the bottomless mimosa action over there. Apparently they’re keeping the name, but Biere-izing the menu. Hopefully the larger space will let the operation run a bit smoother.

I’ve been here about 5 times, 2 times with a groupon deal. The mimosas are great, I come here again and again because of the bottomless mimosas. Typically, other restaurants will give just 2 different flavors of bottomless mimosas, or just the normal orange juice. This place is amazing because they have about 20 different flavors and it changes up every time they run out in the back. Whenever my socal friends come up, i’ll take them here because there’s nothing else like it. In the past, when I went the wait wasn’t too bad, but I guess this place has become a lot more popular. When I went last time, this past weekend, there was long wait… about an hour, but they gave us our bottomless mimosas as we were waiting and it didn’t feel that long. The food is pretty good too. I’d recommend the mussels and the mushroom crimini. The main reason i’m giving them such a low rating is because when I went this weekend, my friend and I got food poisoning. First off, when we received our glasses there was lipstick and lip gloss all over the rim of the glasses. Not just mine, or just hers, but both of ours. We had to switch out our glasses. This was the first time this ever happened to me from all the times i’ve been there. I ordered the Mexicano Eggs Benedict and she ordered the Steak and Eggs. I’m assuming it was some cross contamination because our eggs were cooked well. When we both got home, it was pretty bad… we know it was not the mimosas. I’m still going to go back because i’m hoping it was due to the amount of customers they have and I know how tiny their kitchen is. Also, they’re moving to Albany… which I guess be my reason to go there now.

Been stuffing my face at Café Biere on and off for 3 years now and the food is consistently delicious! Believe the hype, the lamb burger is that good… however, be prepared to take a nap after brunch/dinner. Also notable are the clams in a variety of broths(all of which are yummy), wide selection of beers, and bottomless mimosas on the weekends. The owner is a super chill dude and allows us to seat our pup outside while eating.

*FOOD* — definitely 4 stars for food! — I came here for brunch on a Sunday morning, ordered the Bacon Scramble(scrambled eggs with bits of bacon, roasted pepper, spinach, and melted cheese). Yum. It tasted delicious! Their wheat toast was pretty fantastic as well. Oh, and don’t forget the potatoes! Crispy on the outside but nicely cooked on the inside. *SERVICE* — pretty nice service; I didn’t get the bottomless mimosas, but I know the waitresses are very on top of refilling your drinks as necessary *DELTAS* — SOLOUD; probably thanks to the bottomless mimosas… people feel compelled to yell across the table to talk to their friends — SMALL restaurant, so come early to avoid long lines! — CASHONLY! I prefer to use cards so I can earn points. With all these deltas, I’m almost thinking of giving this place 3 stars… but then, the food was so good. Go for the food. If you want a quiet lovely Sunday brunch, this isn’t your place to go since it’s so hard to have good conversation with your company.

Went on a Sunday for brunch and mimosas. Was severely disappointed with the quality of the food and variety of mimosas. I really wish it was the same as before. Also, it might be so popular now that it’s hard just finding a seat or hearing yourself talk. My friend had a Groupon which is the only thing that made the visit worthwhile. I feel like it’ll be another long while before I come back. Food: steak and eggs which tasted like regular steak and eggs with avocado. Mimosas: only 6 kinds, not the 20 the advertise. maybe they ran out but it’s still disappointing.

(This review is just for brunch) I’m endlessly grateful to my friend who not only found Café Biere but also made sure I got out of bed at 8 am on a Sunday to come to this place before it filled up. The interior is small and adorably decorated but gets crowded very fast. We arrived 30 mins before the rest of our party which our waiter curtly acknowledged before starting us on mimosas while we waited. Seeing as mimosas are an important and fundamental component of any Sunday brunch I would give this place 5 stars for them alone. An employee brings out a pitcher of differently flavored mimosas in rounds. Our first was a tame OJ, but afterwards I was blown away by the watermelon(light and refreshing but more flavorful from the bottom of the pitcher), Mountain Dew(I think the waiter might have been joshing us) and others which whose flavors are long lost due to them being, well, mimosas. When our group of vegetarians had arrived we quickly made our orders(there aren’t a whole of meatless options to choose from, but we still had choices). I decided on the avocado omelette. Maybe it was the mimosas(see above) but I was stunned with how delicious it was. The avocados were creamy, the herb goat cheese strong enough to compete with the eggs and the sauteed mushrooms were divine. My omelet came with leafy greens and seasoned potatoes and ketchup. Mmmm. The goat cheese in the omelette was such a good decision. So tasty! Music was loud and the selection was whimsical. The bathrooms are like, really nice. But this place is small and although empty when we arrived before 9 was teeming with people when we left. Still, I can’t wait to come back here, even if it means waking up early to avoid a wait!

I came here for a party of 4 bruch on a Saturday morning and would definitely return. The interior was pretty small and the top 40’s they were blasting inside sucked BUT there was outdoor seating(thank god) and the food, serivice and mimosas were to die for! My boyfriend got the steak and eggs which had a semi Mexican twist with a great sauce and tortilla chips. He was stoked and it looked delicious. I got the veggie egg ommelette which came with the perfect rustic bread and a salad, loaded with tasty veggies(my one year of vegetarianism). My lovely lady friend got the Salmon Benedict which is definitely what I will order next time because it looked amazing.(They offer a number of different Benedict’s with different sauces such as tomatoe based, salsa, etc). And our number four got the bacon omelette, what could go wrong. We decided on the bottomless mimosas, which they said means a server will frequent the table with a pitcher for refills. Lovely lady friend response, «don’t forget about us because I drink fast». Wise words. First round was lychee mimosa, amazing, sweet, strong. Second was guava, even better, being a little less sweet. Third was cucumber, which was so refreshing and above all my favorite. We made it to six, but somehow the other flavors have escaped my memory… all different. Overall it was a great time shared over a great meal and the servers were genuinely very friendly. I would surely return… and highly recommend the outdoor seating!

I did not come here for brunch and the bottomless mimosas so many people rave about. I wanted to check this place out first with a Groupon before splurging $ 30+ on brunch. The Groupon was good only for dinner, so we cruised on over during their happy hour to enjoy a beer before dinner(which is excluded from the Groupon value). The restaurant is a whole lot smaller than what I’d imagined… Just a few bar tables inside and even less on the patio. The service was quick, as the menus were already laid out, and our server quickly took our drink orders. The menu selection is pretty limited– your typically American bar food fare. I opted for the pulled pork sandwich and my boyfriend got the Oyster Po’ Boy. Our sweet potato fries were good, but I’ve definitely had better. The beer fennel mussels were good too, but just too heavy on the cream. Neither of us enjoyed our sandwiches. My pulled pork was slathered with mayo, so much so that mayo was all I could taste. The spring salad was nice and light, good to offset the heavy sandwich. The Po’ Boy was over-fried because you couldn’t even taste the oysters anymore. Again, too much mayo. Where is the ratio control?! My dinner experience with the food was so poor that I will not be returning for their brunch. If they can’t do a simple pulled pork sammy, how are they going to wow me with an egg benny? Also, the prices are way too high for such a grummy establishment. I think it was either $ 12 or $ 14 for the sandwiches… so NOT worth it.

**BRUNCHONLY** Yes, this is a long review but I hope I can make it worth it for you. Y’all need to get your butts to Café Biere NOW. This place is ahhhmazing! The food and mimosas are great but the owner Ivan is the star of the whole friggin’ show. First, I’ll go over the food. I came here on a Saturday morning with my boyfriend. Get here early on the weekends because it gets super busy around 11. I ordered the French Toast with whipped cream(even though I don’t like whipped cream) while my bf had the Salmon Benedict with roasted potatoes. It was my first time eating Eggs Benedict(don’t judge me). I’ve never been an egg person. It was so delicious. The salmon was smokey, the eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce was dope. I also loved the roasted potatoes. Right amount of spice and flavor. The French Toast was cinnamony and warm. It came with blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries, all super fresh and sweet. Now to the bottomless mimosas! We had A LOT. I think I had 8 glasses while my boy had 10. So Ivan started chatting with us after we got our food and he is so fabulous! He gave us a very generous discount. He loved my bf, and they were having a ball together. Ivan is ridiculously charming, sweet, funny, and did I mention fabulous? We told him we wanted to try the lychee mimosa and he made a special pitcher just for us! At Café Biere, they make a pitcher of mimosa and every 15 min or so they come around all of the tables and refill your glass if your glass is empty. Each time the flavor is different so it’s always a fun surprise. They didn’t make lychee that day but I read on Unilocal that lychee was good so we made a request and Ivan made a whole pitcher just for us! And then Ivan brought out a big glass of honeydew mimosa for us because that was my favorite. He also made us a special hibiscus one. AND he brought my boy on a tour of the kitchen. Ivan made our brunch absolutely spectacular. Here are the flavors we had(all caps = my fav): Orange HONEYDEW Strawberry Cucumber Grape Lychee MANGO Guava Hibiscus Needless to say, we spent 3 hours at Café Biere. But it doesn’t end there! Then the DJ arrived and they were pumping some awesome dance music. This restaurant can get really loud and with a DJ, it is difficult to hold a conversation. So if you’re looking for a more intimate brunch setting, this ain’t it. BUT if you’re looking to have one of the best dining experiences of your life and to get to know a fabulous man who loves to make his patrons happy, then Café Biere is a godsend. Basically, if you want a fun, lively, and delicious brunch, Café Biere is calling your name. Where else can you go to eat eggs benedict, get tipsy over mimosas, and dance to Rihanna?

All I can say is… don’t come here if you don’t plan on getting bottomless mimosas! Perhaps I made the unfortunate decision to opt out on bottomless mimosas when I came for brunch, but it was an overall horrible and very frustrating experience. We came at 1pm on a Saturday, and had to wait an HOUR before getting seated. The entire café is very, very small, and very, very loud.. I’m not even sure why it needs to play such obnoxiously loud music(my friends & I were basically yelling at each other, with our faces 6 inches away, because we could barely hold a conversation). Anyway, not pleasant, to say the least. So it was 2pm when we got a table, and 2:20pm before the waitress finally came around to take our order. It took maybe another 20 minutes for our food to come… and what do you know… they messed up my order. It wasn’t a huge mess-up, but annoying nevertheless. They also skipped out on the toast of one of my friend’s orders. 2 mistakes in one table? NUUH. The food itself was mediocre. I ordered poached eggs, which came with roasted potatoes, side«salad»(more like a few leaves drenched in a very very salty dressing), and Acme bread. Let’s just say my favorite part of the dish was the bread and the potatoes. Someone at the table got the Salmon Eggs Benedict. It was drowned in hollaindaise sauce, which she described vividly by saying, «it was like eating a mixture of cream cheese, butter, and mayo.» As for the mimosas, I was able to sip on my friends’ drinks and tried the guava, watermelon, and strawberry banana. They were good, I must admit, and the waiter definitely keeps them coming. In fact, they refilled the mimosas faster than they refilled my glass of water(oh wait, they didn’t even refill it ONCE, even though I downed it within the first five minutes of my meal). Slow service, overly-loud atmosphere, so-so food… not the best brunch experience. One last note– NOWORKINGPHONENUMBER and NOWORKINGWEBSITE?! Remind me again how this place runs business.

I purchased 2 groupons for Café Biere, tried calling for reservations, disconnected… Since I only have 5 days left, I decided to drop by to see if they are open, and thank goodness for us, it was and there were tables leaving so we only waited 2 minutes… Dont expect some grand décor, it looks bigger from the outside… Every table ordered the mussels, there were 4 choices for how you wanted it done, we chose the garlic and butter, keeping it simple… very good, especially with bread for dippping the juices… We also ordered chicken fingers, we asked for aioli instead of chipotle… very good Steak sandwich, layers of steak with red and yellow peppers, delish… fries, terrible, cold and dry… Calamari, comes different than your typical fried calamari, comes in this big chunk, almost like a ball, battered with onions, red peppers and more, very good… We don’t do alcohol, so tap water it was, service is a little slow, rather very slow, but if you kick back and eat like we did, you are fine…

$ 16 for bottomless mimosas in all flavors imaginable. I somehow remembered to record each of the 15(!) flavors we tried: orange, ALOE, strawberry banana, GRAPEFRUIT, lime, strawberry, hibiscus, MANGO, TANGERINE, cantaloupe, kiwi, watermelon, pineapple, PASSIONFRUIT The flavors in capitol letters were my personal favorites. I really wanted to try green tea, but I guess we didn’t stay long enough! The owner is super fun and even when I told him to fill my glass only halfway full, he would always fill it to the rim :). Also, you don’t need to buy an entrée to get the bottomless mimosa unlike many other places. I ate breakfast beforehand, but tried some of my friend’s Salmon and Mexican eggs benedict and they were both delicious. Best(first) experience drinking bottomless mimosas! CASHONLY!

I’m new to Emeryville and I’ve heard a lot about Café Biere, but when I finally made the effort to dine at the restaurant they were closed for renovations for a month. I don’t know what was renovated because the place was like a dive bar without a bar. Dark, dirty, small. I strongly believe that Café Biere’s high Unilocal rating must be based solely on their bottomless mimosas. There is no way people could give this place four or five stars based on dinner! I agree wholeheartedly with Laurence W’s review. My lamb burger was drenched in salt and my fries were served COLD. Then, I asked for something non-alcoholic to drink and was told that they only have TAPWATER.(Laurence, you were lucky to get a coke!) Boyfriend was not a fan of his fish and chips. I’ll admit that we enjoyed the mussels in cream sauce, but I was so hesitant to eat them because I kept having to swat away flies while trying to eat, and this was while we were seated indoors and on a cold night. WHYSOMANYFLIES? Oh, by the way, they are cash only.

It’s like being in the club on a Sunday morning. …only with breakfast. Thus, we dubbed the term«BRUNK» — brunch-drunk. It was such the perfect birthday! While we waited at a streetside table, they kept our glasses full. And even though we sat in really close quarters to the table next to us, we merged ourselves into one big party by the end of the afternoon. That’s just the type of place this is. So leave your uppity, attitude-having friends at home — there is no room for that here! Strawberry, lemondrop, melon, pineapple… As the server came by with the ice-cold metal pitcher, I downed my mimosa and slammed my glass down like«Hit me bitch!». I will NOT disrespect the sanctity that is the bottomless mimosa by letting that pitcher pass me by. I only wish they had more than one bathroom! Oh and I almost forgot — there WAS food. I soaked it all up with a crisp and flaky Monte Cristo which is like a white napkin version of a ham and cheese sandwich, with a raspberry preserve dip. You haven’t lived til you’ve had one. My friends all had the french toast with powdered sugar and gobs of fresh fruit. By the time we stumbled out of there at 2pm, the sunlight reminded me that we were, in fact, «brunk» before the sun even went down. OHYES.

3.5 stars. Café Biere was nothing like I expected. I got here with a couple friends on a Saturday morning wanting the brunch and bottomless mimosas. We walk in and immediately we’re BLASTED with hip hop music and a rowdy atmosphere. really? In the morning? Haha, maybe because of the mimosas. Still, it caught me off-guard for a brunch place. We opted to sit outside to enjoy the sun and move away from the noise a bit. Pros: 1. Bottomless mimosas have at least 14 different flavors. You start with the orange then they come around with different flavors all the time. My favorite was definitely the strawberry! $ 13 a person so make sure you try a lot of the flavors, but it’s fun and hopefully I’ll be able to try all 14 flavors sometime. 2. The omelette we ordered was cooked well and had a nice blend of cheese and vegetables, mmm. My favorite dish. Cons: 1. Pancakes tasted good, but they ran out of maple syrup and gave us honey instead. Probably should’ve asked before just giving it to us that way. 2. Service was slow and sitting outside, they rarely came to check on us(except the mimosa guy haha). 3. Salad was not very good, just tasted like unwashed spinach or something. Think I’ll be back for the mimosas and maybe other dishes, but so far, not my favorite brunch place.

Mimosa Flavors Tried: melon raspberry lemonade(did not taste like raspberry lemonade at all) orange juice(tasted like just champagne) mango aloe pineapple(my favorite and sweetest of them all) apple cranberry watermelon cucumber guava My friends and I got the Groupon to go to Café Biere for an entrée and endless mimosa’s and boy was it definitely worth it. If anyone ever catches a Groupon for Café Biere, I highly recommend you buy it as soon as you can. Our brunch came out to be $ 144 and we had only paid around $ 17 a person for the Groupon. We made our way over to Café Biere early in the morning arriving around 8:30am and there was no one in site! Judging from the other Unilocal reviews, we wanted to beat the crowd which usually comes around 10am to 10:30am. If you want to beat the crowd anytime before 10:30am should be pretty safe. The restaurant is very tiny and as a result the place fills up quick and with endless mimosa’s you can find yourself waiting for a table for quite a long time.(Better to be the ones inside than the ones waiting) The food was pretty good. I got the«Steak and Eggs» which pretty much reminded me more of a nachos than a steak and eggs. The rest of my friends got a variety of Egg Benedicts which they thought were A-Okay as well. I think what really stood out at Café Biere was the mimosa’s. The wait staff were cheery and fun to talk to. One of the wait staff even sat down for lengths of time to talk to customers which I thought was great.
