Holy haircut Batman! I’m never going anywhere else to get my hairs cut again. Jesse is the absolute man. I’m thinking of going back everyday and getting ¹⁄₃₆^th of an inch taken off just so that I can hang out with the dude. And if he did cut my hairs everyday I’m sure it would still look dope, because the dude is some sort of hair-​wizard. I’d say he must have sold his soul to the devil to get those skillz, but he’s way to nice for that. I’m seriously considering naming him godfather off all of my future children so that they can hang with the dude, and get dope haircuts for life. GO. Go right now. Stop what you’re doing and go get a trim from the hair-​wizard with a heart of gold.

I love remedy but mostly I just love Jesse. He’s so damn good. I used to hate getting my hair cut, with all the boring chit-​chat and the underwhelming results. Hairdressers always seem to require that I know exactly what I want done to my hair, but it’s like, you’re the professional stylist, you tell me. Jesse is a whole different game. He takes my vague ideas and crafts something awesome every time, cuts that suit my hair, my face, and my style. And he keeps up an interesting conversation the whole time. Damn!

I tried Remedy Salon for the first time back in October 2015 by recommendation of friends from my gym. I booked my appointment with Zulma. She is incredibly sweet! If you’re like me and uncomfortable in the chair just chatting away silly — yet just to chill and for once melt into a chair while getting your hair did!
I got a cut and color, a long bob and purple streaks. It was a text book cut, and Zulma ROCKED it! I have ppl run up to me asking me where have I received such magnificent hair? First, it’s from my Mama, secondly from Zulma’s skilled hands. Seriously, Zulma is super talented! Please book an appointment today!
The facility is clean, with plenty of street parking. Amenities are simple and the space is incredible airy and inviting.

Anjela made me look cute again! She knew just what to do to make my awkward in-​betweeny hair look awesome.

So Wendy was for almost a decade one of my favorite dance teachers and for whatever reason I never took her up on her other passion: hair.
I decided this year to say F.U. to what a 49-​year-​old is supposed to look like and dye my hair. Wendy fit me in and spent the better part of her day doing my hair until it was PERFECT. I cannot say enough about her professionalism and ability to make my dream hair come true!
The color is so vibrant and alive and the cut is exactly what I needed.
The salon prices are very competitive for their services, the location is easy to get to by car and I will be more than happy to cross the bridge to go back and see Wendy again for a touch-​up. Spending the day with her make turning 49 so much easier.

I’ve had my hair cut and colored at Remedy a dozen times over the past few years and I’ve never been disappointed. Dani is amazing — she has an incredible knack for color and for knowing exactly what I want (like she knows I’m a chicken and is generally conservative with her snipping). Lona subbed for Dani while she was out on maternity leave. I was initially worried about going to someone new, but soon realized that I was in expert hands. Couldn’t be happier.

I walked into the salon to make a future appointment, and I was told that I needed to make an appointment through their web app. Once I downloaded the app, I found out that there weren’t any appointments for a month.
On the day of the appointment the stylist didn’t even arrive until about 10 minutes after the appointment time. There is no receptionist, and the other stylists who were there did not greet me or ask about who I was there to see. I was never offered anything to drink throughout the entire time I was there.
The haircut was overall okay aside from the locks of hair that she missed. The way that she styled my hair just didn’t work with my hair type and left if looking frizzy and not at all like I had just had it done.
Overall, it takes to long to get an appointment here and the prices are too high for the level of service and artistry.

It is definitely as good as it gets with Jessa! She is both a talented stylist AND an amazing listener. She also gives fantastic advice. The combo will make you feel like a million bucks when you leave– promise! :-)

Remedy is a lovely little salon and Jessa Darro gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had! Not only is Jessa completely professional, she is warm and actually listened to me and gave me exactly what I wanted. She also wasn’t afraid to make suggestions as she was cutting my hair, which I’m glad about because, like I said, awesome haircut! I’d go to her for color or makeup too.

Love this place and Jessa! Jessa Darro does amazing work. I am super picky and she has done magic with my color, great highlights, low lights and even a correction. She is a perfectionist! Love it!

$ 60 trim. Walk ins available, especially if you wander over around lunchtime. Beware the stylist who wants to tell you his/​her life story. Requisite product-​pushing, like most salons. Just say no! Also say no to email lists. Don’t spam me, please! Nice people work here. Lovely space with exposed brick and sunlight. Convenient to wander over to Farley’s afterwards for lunch. Parking on side streets.

Just got my hair cut by Lona, she is the BEST! I chopped off my hair today and went from long hair to shoulder/​neck length hair. I was super nervous and I’ve always been the type to look for a cheap cut but decided to spend more money this time since I was cutting a lot off and I definitely do not regret it! It was so easy to ask questions and I was reassured that the cut I was getting was right for my hair type and face shape. I never write Unilocal reviews but this place definitely deserves it. You get your money’s worth. Will definitely be back.

Lona is amazing! I can honestly say I have never loved a stylist before Lona. She is great, listens to exactly what I want and delivers excellent work every time! I hope to come to Remedy for a very long time =)

Still amazing! I have never strayed from this salon since my 1^st appointment 3−½ years ago. That means something, I am not a monogamist when it comes to hair dressers, and now I can say my hair has found it’s soulmate. I’m hooked for life. I mean, I book vacations «around» my hair appointments.

I am SO pleased with the haircut Jesse gave me 2 days ago. I’ve been going from a very short (once shaved) pixie cut to growing my hair out, and the process has been painful. I’ve avoided getting my hair cut because most stylists seem to miss the whole «I’m growing it out please don’t touch the length!» plea, but Jesse understood that need without my having to beg. The cut he gave me keeps the length but takes away all the awkwardness that happens when going short to long. It’s really very fetching, too!
I’m so happy I found this place! And it’s right next to Farleys (like as in the same building) so I happily got some good coffee afterward. Support this business! I plan to for years to come.

Yayyy Remedy. I work nextdoor and go here several times a week just to say hi to everybody. They are great ladies with cute dogs, they play good music and everybody smells nice.

When I left San Diego in 2008, I was worried about finding someone to cut my hair up here in the bay. I’d been seein’ my girl in SD for 5 years and hoooo boy that is a tough relationship to let go of. So… I hopped on Unilocal and found this place.
I tried Anjela the first time and she was super duper excellent at cutting hair and also just pretty chill in general. Six years later, I haven’t looked back. Sure, it’s not the cheapest haircut, but Anjela literally spends an entire hour sculpting your ‘do. She is really meticulous and perhaps sometimes borderline neurotic about getting it just right, but hey that’s exactly what you want when you’re getting your hair cut, right? She’s also got a great sense of style and her finger on the pulse of what’s current, so she’s great to talk to about changing up your look.

I’m a salon whore. I’ve been around the block with too many stylists both in the East Bay and SF, having paid the $ 100s of dollars for a simple guys haircut only to move on to the next one.
Having found Barbara at Remedy.damn.talk about someone who not only does a fantastic job consistently on every visit but someone is authentic and makes you feel like its just the two of you in there vibing. could this be the one? Hell yes!

I am so sad to have to update this review.
The last time I had my regular highlights done by Anjela, they came out brassy. She tried to fix them but they still weren’t right. It was very apparent that she was annoyed. Next time I went same thing. When I said something she told me that «it is very annoying to hear that because I know that I did them in creamy beige.» And proceeded to have an attitude during the haircut. I’m sorry, but when you are spending 100’s of dollars on a service, you want it right, no? I wasn’t going to bite my tongue to please her. Sheesh.
Last time I went I asked if they had WiFi, and if so, did I need a password, so I could be on my iPad while I was waiting for my highlights to be done. She said with a sneer: «I have no idea.» Then she went over and whispered with another stylist and they both glared at me. WTF? I felt like I was in high school dealing with mean girl.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t have the money or the time to mess around with a ridiculous situation like this.
I will never go to Anjela, nor Remedy again. What a disappointment…

I used to make a voyage to SF to see Masaki from Oxen Rose to do my hair. I loved him but decided that there has to be someone closer who I can replace him with.

I’ve been seeing Wendy for more than 5 years now. I always leave the salon feeling happy with my hair. She always seems to get my vague and poor descriptions of how I want my hair to look like. Or, whenever I feel indecisive or just plain clueless of what I want done with my hair, she never fails to whip out something that I do love! We’ve been through different hair styles… from super short funky haircuts, purple highlights and back to embracing my natural black, wavy hair. I love Wendy’s precision and attention to detail. She takes her time and I never once felt like I was being rushed out. I always feel very comfy in her chair… never forced into any awkward conversations. She also gladly straightens my hair at the end even though it sometimes take forever!
I do have to admit I’ve cheated on her a few times with the other stylists, but it’s only whenever she is unavailable and my hair needs to be badly done. My fault. I should plan ahead of time. Despite missing Wendy, the rest of the Remedy salon stylists have not disappointed me so far.
I also enjoy Remedy’s ambiance. It has a super chic, minimalist interior décor, with really cool art work. They also offer beverages of your choice to ensure that you’re as comfortable as you can be.
Even though I usually end up paying $ 80 for a regular haircut (including tip), it’s a price I’d gladly pay for the service I get.
