We had a great experience working with Sharon. She helped us come up with a plan for an unused portion of our yard that has really transformed the look and feel of our backyard. She was quick to respond to questions and very flexible throughout the process of finding the right materials and plants for our project.

Great lay out and selection! I could have spent hours here. There was a great clearance section, but the regular priced succulents were a little expensive when full price. Would definitely return.

We got married at Barrels & Branches just recently, this is one of the best places to have a wedding take my word for it! Everyone said something about the venue being a perfect fit. The nursery grounds are hard to describe you just need to go there to really appreciate it. Samantha and all her staff are super helpful and have tons of knowledge. It is truly a magical place!

My friend and I came here recently to pick up some baby aloe plants. Definitely worth the drive as all of the plants here are well taken care of and are healthy as hell :) They let you pot your own plants with their mulch and pebbles for free. Oh and also, there is this really cute cat that wanders around the area! Love this place

Samantha has done multiple projects for us, helping us to redesign and refresh parts of our backyard. She has always done a fantastic job, taking into account our aesthetic and completing the project for a reasonable cost. She is honest, extremely talented, and a pleasure to work with. She is always our first choice for any landscaping projects.

Samantha and the whole staff at Barrels and Branches are super knowledgeable and great at what they do! I needed some plants installed to give me some privacy from my noisy neighbors. Samantha recommended some great plants which grow quick and dense. They are still coming in but looking good. Barrels and Branches also has a small garden center which is a very peaceful place in Encinitas. If you need landscaping or have questions about setting up a garden, I would highly recommend Samantha at B&B, her knowledge is staggering. I will be back for future projects.

Truly THE hidden gem of Encinitas!!! Just walking around the nursery is like being in a botanical gardens, it is always perfectly merchandised which makes it not only enjoyable but also really helpful when you’re trying to visualize what something is going to look like in your space. They have a great selection of specimen plants and succulents and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. If you haven’t checked it out yet, definitely stop into this magical place! I am there at least once a month picking up something for my garden and also just to take some time to walk around and enjoy their beautiful grounds.

Love this place! Best nursery in encinitas! Beautiful stuff and a wonderful owner! I alway look forward to coming here. I love all the selection of stuff! Great place to get gifts too! I heard the classes given here are awesome and it’s a great venue for events! I had my baby shower here and I was over the top beautiful and would reccomend to anyone!

Some of my favorite memories are spending time in nurseries in the different places we’ve lived. Some have that special, magical quality that makes you want to take your time and linger. This nursery is THAT place! So quaint and beautiful, I feel like I’m in a fairy land every time I go to B&B.
Besides being a well stocked nursery, they have very unusual things you won’t see at the local mega home centers or even other local nurseries. In addition, Samantha and her staff offer personal, comprehensive service every time we go. We are also in the middle of a complete landscape remodel at our home which Samantha is leading for us. Her vision and execution are spot on with what we wanted. We couldn’t be happier! We figure that she is saving us tons of time, money and headache trying to do it all ourselves. She is the expert at picking the right plants and design for our lifestyle. If only we’d found her sooner!

I just love this quaint local nursery in Encinitas. They have a big selection of succulents from 1 ½ inches to very large ones. Great place to get ideas for projects, potting plants, even backyard furniture. The young lady who was working there was very helpful in finding just what I needed. I inquired about making a succulent/​living wall and she walked me over to an example of a class they offer. She informed me to what materials I needed as well as helpful instructions. A local artist creates picture framed succulent art.
I noticed they have beautiful pots at very affordable prices. The plants I purchased were reasonable. I can’t wait until I walk through their garden nursery again.

So impressed with this hidden off the street nursery on Santa Fe Dr in Encinitas. It is so unique and creatively laid out in a multi level artistic way… it makes for a adventure just walking the paths. They have many specimen plants and a large variety of rare succulents at very good prices. The owners and the staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, caring and helpful if you need assistance. It is truly inspirational to visit.
They carry a large variety of indoor plants that could be given as gifts as well as pots to put them in. Off to the side is consignment shop where hand crafted items, collectibles and misc is on display. A nice place to pick up a special gift for someone or yourself. Out side you will see among the landscape different consignors garden art that is available for sale to enhance your yard.
Barrels & Branches gets my five stars and I am sure you will like them too.

I first found Barrels and Branches through a Living Social deal. The nursery is a bit hidden from the road and, though I had driven past many times, I’d never noticed their sign. They offer an outstanding variety of plants, including specimen plants not found at other local nurseries as well as drought-​tolerant plants. They nursery is laid out in a way that also inspires gardening creativity, integrating pots, fountains and other hardscaping features. I’ve now been to Barrels and Branches several times and find the owners and staff consistently friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. After living in Encinitas for over 10 years, I’m happy to have finally found a local nursery that meets all of my organic gardening needs with excellent customer service to boot!

Cute hidden nursery with plantings and pottery. The staff members have been consistently friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to asking detailed gardening questions.
They only have one kind of mulch, compost, potting soil by E.B. Stone Organics which simplifies things for the consumer since I have used those same products in the past with success. What is different is that they sell this soil booster which worked quite well when I needed to reseed patches of my lawn.

Nice place! Love to just go walk thru, even brought my parents last time they came up for lunch:-) have gotten a lot of neat plants here, trying their veggies for the first time this season as they are competitively priced. Some of the plants are a little more expensive… but you got to check it out for yourself. Great little stock of pretty pots and Great customer service!

Drive by this place all the time, but since it’s hidden from the road, I’ve never stopped before. We went because a neighbor told us they had black bamboo we wanted.
One of the owners greeted us with a warm hello and gave us good honest advise for our many «tree needs.» She was patient and very knowledgeable. We didn’t purchase today, but we will be back. I’ll be back just to browse all the unique accessories as well.
So much better than trying to buy what Home Depot feels like stocking.
Tip: need larger specimens? They’ll get them from their growing stock & bring to this location so you can see before ordering.

Awesome local nursery on Santa Fe in Encinitas. Operated by an amazing, talented group of women. You can find some unique plants, to add to your home collection, along with some vibrant colored planters in great sizes and shapes. Support your local, one of a kind nursery and shop here instead of Home Depot or the other chains in Encinitas
