Kinderspecs Children’s Optical

I have four kids and my 5 year old needed glasses. It was a recipe for disaster. I could already envision the frames breaking, lenses shattering, displays toppling, my wallet emptying. My anxiety level was already very high, considering this was my baby and he was getting his first pair of glasses. But can I say that everything went really well? Like, really well? Kinderspecs has a ton of toys that entertained my 15 month old and 8 year old. Naomi, the optician, let my 10 year old get involved in the choice process so he also felt included. My five year old just knew the characters he liked so picking glasses could have gone horribly wrong (think teenage mutant ninja turtles glasses), but Naomi was careful to show him only glasses that fit his face structure and nose bridge shape. She carefully inspected each pair for fit, making sure they were not too loose, but also not tight enough that I would not get some wear out of them before they were outgrown. She listened to my little boy’s preferences (really kid, you want magenta glasses?) as well as my own. In the end, everybody was happy! All my kids got to pick from the prize box and no damage insurance claims needed to be filed. I don’t know if they were particularly expensive or not, as this was the first place I went. One tired mom and four kids do not allow much time for comparison shopping. But, really, why do you need to shop around when you find the best service the first place you go? Following my ophthalmologist’s advice and coming to Kinderspecs was the best decision I could have made. Thank you Naomi!

I went into Kinderspecs with hopes that I could find a pair of glasses for my 2yr old I had gone to many different places nobody had her size glasses and the only ones I did find they only had one option which did not look that great on my daughter. Not only did Kinderspecs have many differnt options of frames they also took the time to find the right style and size of frames for my daughter and her glasses were ready in less than a week. When We went to pick them up they made sure it was the right fit for her and checked to see how she did with her glasses and may I add that my daughter looks so adorable In them. I am very happy with their services they were knowledgeable and nice, I highly recommend Kinderspecs.

I can’t say enough good things about Kinderspecs. My daughter had worn glasses for a short time from 5 – 6 years old and at a recent Dr appointment was told she needs to start wearing them again full time (she is now 8). She was not excited at all about this! I wanted to make sure I took her to a place with a big selection to try to make it more exciting and a friend had told me about Kinderspecs. Naomi was amazing! She has such a way with kids and she took my daughter around the store and made a pile of potential glasses. She then worked with my daughter to sort the glasses into a «yes» «maybe» and «no» pile after trying them on. We decided on two pair that my daughter was actually excited about and she kept asking me «Mom when will my glasses be here?» The glasses arrived the next day! We have become clients of Kinderspecs for almost 4 years now. We started coming here when one of our twin boys was 5mo old and had his first pair of glasses prescribed.
The place is small, simple, and very kids friendly. They have lots of old fashion toys and they don’t bother the mess that kids always make and the parents are always ashamed. :)
The service is usually very fast 3 – 5 days and the professionals are awesome with the little ones.
I highly recommend this place.

Linda is the kindest woman! Our son has been in glasses since he was 6 months old and while it was overwhelming at first, she helped us through the whole process. We had to get both glasses and prescription polarized sunglasses for our son, and it’s not cheap. I got a quote from another optical shop in Carlsbad, and they were almost triple the price that Linda offered, just for the sunglasses. I cannot recommend Kinderspecs enough. She is so friendly with kids and even has toys in the front of the shop to make them feel more comfortable.

This place is awesome! I have two kids that wear glasses (one infant) and Linda is super helpful, quick, and has a great selection of frames. We won’t go anywhere else for my kid’s glasses needs.

Linda and Kinderspecs are THE BEST! She is awesome with kids and always willing to do something extra to make sure your child is comfortable and happy with his/​her glasses. They have a great depth of experience in helping parents and kids find the right glasses, something you won’t find everywhere. Kinderspecs is a wonderful place to go for children’s glasses. As a bit of a helicopter mom I’m always looking for someone to treat my son the way I would. Kinderspecs doesn’t disappoint!
