Great service, not great food. Almost every dish we got was super sweet. I mean, it was edible, but just so. It seems to be a trend down here. I’ve been to several local Indian restaurants in the area and all are like this. Well, this one was a little worse on the sweetness. Not a lot of variety in flavor. Also, the kofta was not properly cooked. I don’t regret trying it, but it just doesn’t measure up to the Indian food you can get in Artesia or Los Angeles.

From the UK so I know about the curry scene. Food was good although could use a little more flavour. Menu needs some innovation on top of some of the classics they have. Delivery was NOT good 25mins late, customer service was not good either; repetitively informing me the driver would be there in 5 – 10 minutes. A nice note: they added complementary rice to my order. I deliberately did not order it as I had some already at home, but a nice touch. Order only if you not in a rush.

I always order the same thing to go(naan, rice, and chicken korma). Food is great and delivery is quick! I can usually make three meals out of my one order.

The food is always fresh, the condiments are well used. The buffet is generous. The staff is friendly and helpful. What else can you ask for?

Hands down the best Indian food in the Encinitas/Carlsbad area! The staff is great. They even have a buffet on Mondays! I’ve been going to this location along with the other two located in San Diego for years, never a disappointment!

My opinion of this place, once low, has risen considerably. My wife and I had the non vegetarian combo for 2. It was great. Meat samosas, chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, lamb korma, soup, salad, naan and more! My wife started eating the dessert, gulab jamun, and said«This is terrible». For a second I almost fell for it then I realized she wanted it all for herself! We used the delivery service«Doordash». Worked out great.

Had our first takeout from here and it will be our last. The chicken biryani was just rice with 1 or 2 lumps of fatty chicken, the saag aloo resembled green liquified baby food and the chicken tikka masala was so orange it was almost fluorescent. Very poor and at $ 50 very overpriced!

Quite the drive from Carlsbad Village, but well worth it. Here’s the thing with Indian food… it’s either amazing or it’s severely disappointing. Guess which one this is?! ***AMAZING*** I tried other Indian food places, and while they weren’t bad, the sauces were watery in an attempt to save on overhead I’m sure. Indian food is not cheap to make, so if it’s cheap – chances are it isn’t that good. That said, this place is right on par with how much one would expect to pay for amazing Indian food. Do it. You’ll love it.

We ordered chicken tikka, kababs, baking an bhartha and chicken vindaloo. Also some rains and gulab jamun. Eat24 offered a 5 level spice rating. I did spicy for vibdaloo and bhartha. They are inedible — headed for the trash. Tikka is also headed for the trash — super salty. Raita was ok. Naan was ok. We have not tried the gulab jamun yet. Don’t waste your money. I’m Indian and know good Indian food — this is as bad as it gets!

Just ordered take out and it was fantastic! Food was well cooked, tasty, and portions were excellent for the price(better than KC Tandoori for sure.) also, for Sunday after 9pm late night ‘everybody’s busy what can we get last minute dinner take out’ it was beyond exceptional. Boyfriend loved the mango chicken and veggie samosas, garlic naan was amazing soft. Papadum was perfectly crisp(my fave) and the veggie karahi was just delish. Important side note!: medium is QUITE spicy!!! I love spicy food, but even the medium was a bit much for me(think sriracha kicked up a few notches!). So order mild if you don’t do spicy food! Overall, can’t wait to check out their Monday night buffet in the near future!

Today I decided to expand my horizons. I was told by a friend of mine that Passage to India was the place go to. Today was my first time trying Indian. I’ve have to say their food is amazing. Never tasted something so rich in spices. The Chicken Tikka Masala(not Marsala) blew me away! With their soft, buttery naan and a side of rice just made it such a great meal. Also, don’t forget get to try their Mango Lassi!

I love this place. Indian food is one of my favorites and this place does it very well. Interior is nice, they have large booths and tables for families or groups to sit at. Small tables for couples and it’s nicely decorated. My daughter loves the fountain by the front door. Dishes are served traditionally, order your main dish, rice and naan separately. They will bring it for you to assemble at your table. I always get a king fisher or another Indian beer with my meal, just like when I visited India. The quality it excellent and just the right amount of spice for me at «medium». Chicken vindaloo and the regular curry are my favorites, my daughter loves the chicken tikka and they even gave me a free dessert for my birthday. Very nice :-)

This place has been our Christmas tradition for a couple of years now. Both my wife and I are from the Midwest and we’re not religious, so while everybody else is with family or at church, we’re stuffing naan in our face holes. This place is pretty good. I’ve only ever had the buffet, so I can’t comment on their menu, but here’s what I do know: Their naan is bomb. Their tandoori chicken is also bomb. Tandoori chicken in general tends to be dry, but they manage to keep their chicken moist and it’s very flavorful. Their chicken makhani is great. They have all the ingredients to make dal bhat tarkari on their buffet, if you long for Nepalese food, which I occasionally do for a weird reason. I’ve enjoyed all of the things I’ve eaten here, which is good because I’m usually pretty picky. Their service is pretty good as well, and the staff is always very friendly. Prices are pretty good as well. This is a solid place for Indian food in North County.

On a business trip and had the chance to go with some colleagues for Indian. High points Butter chicken hands down is one of the best I’ve had. Tandoori was tasty as well. Grilled Lamb was really spicy and yummy. Samosas had nice flavor and spice. Friendly staff and fast service. Just ok Saag paneer was bland. Chicken tikka masala was fair. Ambience is ok but not a lot of seating in this small strip center location. Restrooms need an upgrade Would I go back? If the company is paying — sure. Otherwise I’ll choose one of the many other options in this big city.

This is the best restaurant in Encinitas in my opinion, and I’ve lived here for 15 years. I order from them via grub hub a few times a week and often come in for the amazing lunch buffet. Every dish I’ve been ever gotten has been amazing, even just plain rice is better here than anywhere else I’ve been. This restaurant is beautiful inside, the staff are always super attentive and polite and again, it’s the best food I’ve ever had! The Gulab Jamun & Naan are my absolute favorite. Another plus, when I order delivery, they’re always early! I have a lifetime long love for this restaurant and you should too! Definitely a must try if you’re into flavorful food. Thank you, Passage to India. I love you!

This place has awesome ambience… very clean and traditional. Staff members are very polite. I ordered a drink and I didn’t like it. They took it back and didn’t charge. I loved the chicken wings and shrimp tandoor here! They are the best! I also liked chicken 65. This restaurant is the best in the locality. I highly recommend this place.

Ordered food. Chicken tikka chili, shrimp masala, mutton karahi, wings, shrimp masala. Paid over $ 100. What can I say. the food was delivered after 95 minutes, compared to what they say: 45 – 60 minutes.(Not to mention the location was 2.5 miles away) Chicken Tikka chili: chicken was not fully cooked. Masala was half cooked. Chicken Wings: Have never had more tenderized and vinegarized wings. Not cooked properly. Rest of the masalas were terrible. The naans were burnt and not cooked. Restaurants like these should be closed and banned!
