Plain cheese steak with grilled onion sandwich I had. Felt like I was the first customer today meaning it was empty. My sandwich came right away. It was good. While I was eating, more and more people came. Nothing to complain or add to this place. Friendly service and good food. After I paid I found out with my Unilocal check-in, I will get 10% off. Next time for sure I am gonna check in before I pay! This place is my go lunch before Laemmle.

Pretty good eats! Mushroom steak had good flavor, but was a little disappointed with pizza fries. Pizza fries should have had some pepperoni on them, instead of just marinara & cheese. Tasted good though. As for the review mentioning their dislike of the meatball, use simple logic: don’t order meatballs in a Steak Sandwich joint. Would you go to a Chinese place & order pizza? I think not!

I’ve tried both the Philly steak & cheese and the chicken & cheese Philly. Both are amazing but I prefer the chicken, their sauce is creamy and the onions and peppers are melted in with the cheese all tucked into a soft bread roll. Pretty darn good.

Being from Philly I have yet to find«the best» and although they use the authentic rolls, my choice for cheese is not mozzarella but provolone for extra flavor. Meat needed to be seasoned more and not chopped as much… didn’t have enough texture. I did like that they incorporated the sauce into the mix though and not just on the top. Prices okay but I do think $ 7.99 for fried mozzarella sticks is high. Service was great… fast and super friendly! Will return but for 2 pizza cheese steaks, mozzarella sticks and 2 drinks I think $ 33+ is a little high for lunch.

Mediocre at best. We ordered through Eat24 our food was wet. Why wet? Our cheese steaks were barely filled. We also ordered a large cheese fry but only received frys. I called them and they didn’t want to do anything because the were closing. I ask for a refund of my money for the fries, the guy said he would call me back(yeah right). No call of course. Even Eat24 did nothing. These guys suck.

Well it’s definitely not Philadelphia’s best but it may be the best cheesesteak in California. they do have cheese wiz which is how a real Philadelphia cheesesteak is supposed to be made. If you order your cheesesteak with sliced cheese do not leave your feedback on a Cheesesteak because you don’t even know how to eat it. Would you put sliced cheese on nachos??? Exactly. On a scale from 1 to 10 I would rate it a 7 Based on the actual sandwich bread, steak, cheese, peppers, mushrooms. I did ask for my onions to be extra well done, they were not but other than that the service was great. they have three big-screen TVs and they were nice enough to change the channel for me so that I can watch the NBA playoffs and a turn down the music and turned on the sound for the televisions.

Clean store. Service just ok. Bought a meatball sub. It was salty. It looked nothing like the poster. There was more bread than anything else. I will not go back nor recommend the meatball sub to anyone else.

Sarah B. Clearly problems here !!, when I asked about the over charges. .instead of saying let me go thru the order, the owner«Mark«blamed it on new help for putting out the wrong price list ?? I work down stairs and the salon orders daily. He gave me 2 day old fries, old bread and lied ! Also over charged me anyway argued my lunch time away! !!! was rude… parking is so hard… so go to Subway for half $ and a void old food and confrontation . Subway, go to Subway.

Make sure you order cheese on your cheese steak. Apparently a philly CHEESE steak doesn’t come with CHEESE. Pshhh. My dogs stoked now. He get the 2 sandwiches I ordered. Thanks Phillys worst.

I used to eat at Philly’s Best down in Irvine years ago when I worked there, but since moving back to LA(7 years ago), I basically forgot all about it… until this week. Stopped in and got my usual order from back in the day: Philly’s Best cheese steak(with sweet peppers and mushrooms) and the Cheese fries. The sandwich is large, but the bread is so light it almost feels like you are eating cotton candy. It’s great. Took me back to my college days, as it has not changed in how I remembered it. If you’re in the mood for a Philly Cheese Steak, I would recommend Philly’s Best.

I’ve been pretty happy with them for the most part. The rolls are really soft which really helps make the sandwich in my opinion. I’ve tried the steak and cheese, the bbq chick and the buffalo chicken and they are all delicious. I do have 3 issues with this place. First is whenever I get a steak and a chicken my steak is always done first and it gets cold while it waits for the chicken. It’s no secret that chicken takes longer to make so start the chicken and then the steak. My other issue is with the provolone on the steak sandwich. I don’t think they put enough on it and because I get my order to go it’s not melted by the time I get home(which also has to do with the complaint above) and so it doesn’t taste all that great when it’s not hot and melted. Last issue is with their stamp card. Make sure you get on their ass to get you a stamp card because we went in 2 times before they finally gave us a stamp card which would have been 4 stamps on the card already. The first time we went the guy asked if we had one and I said no and asked to get one and it wasn’t until I left that I remembered he never gave me one and then they didn’t even offer it the second time and I didn’t remember to ask about it.

I stopped at phillys best in Encino and ordered the phillys best steak sandwich. The sandwich was very disapointing. It was soggy and gave me an upset stomach for a few days.

A great Philly cheesesteak sandwich but I can’t give 5 stars because I was grossed out when one of the female employees came out of the restroom and didn’t wash her hands. If I didn’t already order I probably would have just walked out, luckily she wasn’t the one that made the sandwich please management talk to your employees, whether you use the restroom or flush or go in to brush your hair I don’t want you near my food if you haven’t washed your hands.

I usually stop in here once or twice a month for lunch. I usually get the Italian hoggie and a salad. Both items have always been very good, served quickly and with a smile. Overall very good service and food quality.

This Philly’s Best is loosing my support. I came here recently and got the mushroom, onion with provolone Cheesesteak and noticed that they reduced the filling by almost 25%. The meat/cheese used to cover the bread. I will try one more time and if it’s the same little filling, I will drive all the way out to Boo’s Cheesesteak in Hollywood for my Cheesesteak cravings.

Let’s start with quality of food since it’s a «restaurant.» The meat made me wonder if I was going to get sick. The bread was hard and tasteless. The fries were disappointing. The owner is a complete jackass. I have never seen a more disgusting individual In charge of a business. From his fake smile to his inability to speak to people it was a nightmare to be around him. He attempted to send me over to Nail Garden.(I’m assuming he also owns that). Horrible experience. STAYAWAY!!!

There is nothing in LA that can remotely compete with a real deal philly cheesesteak, but if you are looking for a good one — this definitely isn’t bad. The bread has a great chew, you can choose between provolone or wiz and they even have some Philly staples that you can’t find anywhere in LA — tasty kakes! I would come by here just to snatch some of those up. Roll down to ventura to Rita’s and you will have a quintessential philly experience all on one blvd.

Now I’m a foodie. I grew up in both new york and Philadelphia. So needless to say, I’m extremely picky when it comes to cheesesteaks anywhere else but where they originate. I’ve lived in California 3 yrs and I must say the best philly cheesesteak spots my top 3 would be 1. Phillys best 2. Boos philly cheesesteak 3. Big mama’s papa’s pizza Definitely the best taste next to the authentic cheesesteak from philly itself. 5 stars :)

I’m updating my review to FIVESTARS after deciding to come back and give it another shot. Good thing I did because I now have a go-to for Philly steak sandwiches! This time I ordered right. Pastrami cheese fries and Philly’s best sandwich. Omg. The fries were heaven. They had a tiny bit of crunch but were super moist and soft(in the best way possible) as soon as you bite into them. I loved every bite of the pastrami accompanied by the gooey warmness of the cheese. Most places you will have a few fries left bare but NOT here. There was a perfect pastrami & cheese to fries ratio. This is a MUST try! The Philly’s best sandwich was so good. I almost want to say it’s the best I’ve had. Everything about it was like melt in your mouth goodness! I believe the roll is imported straight from Philly. This too is a must try!
