Oh no! They have closed up shop. No more Tokyo ice. :( Waaaaaaaaaaa! I gotta find myself another sushi place to go to.

I biked past Tokyo Ice today and I think they changed their name to Mongogi or something. Anyway this place is good, especially for an all-you-can-eat place.

I came here with a large group of friends, so we decided to set a reservation, but it wasn’t as crowded as expected. It’s a pretty small sushi restaurant with a small patio in the front. For and AYCE sushi restaurant, Tokyo Ice is pretty good! Appetizers: 1) Must Try: ALBACORESASHIMI with CRISPYONIONS. It was really tasty and fresh. The onions complemented the sashimi very well. 2) Must NOT try: Chicken and beef teriyaki. so dry and tough even with the teriyaki sauce! Nigiri: My one complaint would have to be that they pack HELLA rice in some of the nigiri to a point where the rice texture overpowered the sushi. It was borderline dough as Matthew P. so eloquently put it. Rolls: We ordered soo many that I lost track of what I ate. However, I do remember the JJ Crispy Rice roll, which was awesome! Overall, the standard rolls(ie, spider, rainbow, dragon, etc.) are good, but after eating so much, it all ended up tasting the same. I recommend ordering a couple of rolls and ordering nigiri. Service: The servers were friendly, helpful, and on top of all our orders for our large group. They made sure that everything that we ordered came out. Parking: Street parking and parking lot in the back.

I love their sushi. I work down the street so I come in all the time. The only complaint is my husband can eat sushi so when we come in for all u can eat, they know he can eat a lot so they double up on rice. The owners/sushi chefs can be a little pissy sometimes and when u ask for extra spicy, they will burn a hole in ur gut. I love the food, it’s just the owners that bug me. I find myself going there less and less because of it.

Came here last night with a large group of friends and for a Saturday night, it wasn’t that crowded as we thought it would be. We made a reservation just in case although it wasn’t needed. As we sat, we saw their vast menu and was ready to mark off the sushi’s & rolls that we desired. We started off the albacore sashimi which you can order once. For an AYCE this was very fresh and delicious. Also part of their order which you can only order one per person is the Uni and Salmon Eggs. These pieces were also surprisingly fresh and tasty for being at a AYCE sushi restaurant. But as we started receiving our rolls and sushi, we noticed that the fish was very fresh and good but the rice was way too sticky and clunky. I know my sushi and I know that the rice has to be somewhat sticky but this rice was beyond sticky, somewhat doughy. This led a majority of our party to be overstuffed with the glutinous rice and resulted us to take some of the rice out so we can enjoy our sushi. Unfortunately, we realized that we ordered way too much and we were getting tortured trying to finish off the last bits of sushi that we over ordered. The waitress came by and told us that we didn’t have to finish off the sushi and that she won’t charge us extra for this mistake. This was very kind of them and made us appreciate their service even more. The quality of the fish here is again, surprisingly great. If they didn’t have such glutinous, sticky rice, I think our eating experience here would’ve been exponentially better but for an AYCE, I was satisfied!

This restaurant is AWESOME! I try to go here at least once a month for their All You Can Eat Sushi. Often when I hear of an All You Can Eat restaurant, I question the quality of the food, especially when it comes to sushi. But Tokyo Ice’s sushi is always fresh and delicious. The customer service is top notch. If I could afford it, I’d go here at least once a week.

What an amazing Sushi joint! It was recommended by a co-worker as one of the best in the valley. I would have to say, I completely agree. When I think of al you can eat I get somewhat concerned for quality. Then there is always a solid selection of tasty vegetarian rolls. Nothing to worry about here. The selection was impressive and my date even liked the albacore and tuna rolls. Want to get yourself some terrific sushi, GOHERE!

This place was introduced to me by a friend instead of midori, I gave it a shot. So we came here for a friends birthday dinner, We started with edema mi and proceeded with ordering Asahi and all you can eat sushi. We order a spicy tuna, spicy scallop, eel roll, philly roll, cali roll… well we ordered a lot. I must say i enjoyed it but they add wayyy to much rice. Seems like all places do that now a days =( Good for the Cost

Have you ever felt your heart pounding after a quick run? I just finished eating there, and I can feel my stomach pounding as though it has a heartbeat. Pleasantly surprised by the food they had. I hope I got my money’s worth. Veggie croquette– 4 star Seaweed salad– 4.5 star Sunomono– 4 star Caterpillar roll– 4 star. Spicy tuna on crispy rice — 2 star. I don’t understand why they ruined it with eel sauce. Also, def not the typical«crispy rice» you’d expect. It’s a bit different. Spicy tuna roll– 3 star Oishii roll(salmon) — 4.5 star(I hate salmon. But the crispy masago was a great complement to the smooth salmon on top) Yellowtail– 3.5 star Sweet Shrimp– 2 star All in all, I’d say that this place has rolls equivalent to Sushi Dan quality. You’re not going to find the top notch ingredients of a NONAYCE sushi place, but, you’d be a fool to walk into an AYCE and expect that. I thought the food was pretty good, and sides were quite nice. I am about to explode right now. Service– They were filling water non stop and constantly on top of the plates. I guess the reviews on bad service has lead to improved services. Will def go back when I feel like I want to stuff myself again. With tax and tip: $ 32 /person. Was a bit pricier than I had anticipated. TOTALRATING: 4 star. I based this on my standard/expectations of an AYCE food joint. Not to mention the standards I have of the most whatever sushi places like Sushi Dan, etc.

Although this is an «all you can eat» sushi place. I have to admit that their fish is really fresh. I love getting the Albacore Sashimi. Really great. The 911 roll is great as well and the Ventura roll. I would definitely recommend this place… The other thing i would recommend is to sit at the sushi bar, we sat at a table they took soo long to get to you. The service I didn’t like but definitely the best sushi…

I am a fan, for sure! I just got home from Tokyo Ice and I am impressed! I didn’t even have All you can eat(I like to have left-overs) but I wish I didn’t get so full so fast, because all you can eat is only $ 24.95. There is a HUGE variety from specialty rolls to appetizers. I highly recommend the Ventura Roll, which has spicy tuna inside, cucumber, avocado and albacore and fried onion on top.(mouth watering) I drenched mine in ponzu & chili oils as well, my two favorite sauces. One negative is that they did not have Green Tea Mochi :( Oh and I got caught eating off my boyfriends plate(he got AYCE) and they told me that is against the rules. haha woaaah rebel. Anyway, eat here, it’s awesome.

Quality: 4 Ambiance: 3 Service: 5 Price: 5 This place is definately not the case of quality meets price. They let you practically get anything on their appeitizers menu that is included in their all you can eat menu. OoOoOooo. Variety… :D I have the case of deng I want sushi but I eat too much and it gets expensive. So I only do all you can eat. These people do ayce right. They don’t try to Jipp you by packing on the rice, or giving you bad quality fish

Great food @ great price with best of service. Normally, when you walk into a Japanese restaurant, you’re usually expected to spend somwhere in the neighborhood of $ 40+ for some raw fish delights but that’s not the case here @ Tokyo Ice. The food is served fresh & delicious at only $ 25/person and you can get EVERYTHING on the menu as much as you can eat. Unlike other sushi places, this place doesn’t come with a time limit so you can make as many trips as you can to the bathroom and still be able stuff your mouth until you hear the pants rip(LOL!). And since the sushimen are very friendly along with courteous servers, it really makes time of being there very enjoyable in midst of an ultra friendly environment. Although one of the waitresses(i won’t name her here) could use an attitude adjustment or 2 but hey, there’s always one of those everywhere you go, right? Overall, I cannot find another place you can spend $ 25 to stuff yourself with high quality and tastiest of food. I’d recommend it to anyone who is a sushi lover!

OK so I ate too much to the point that my stomach ‘s shape changed, I swear. I had a salmon collar, an order of gyoza, 4 pieces of salmon nigiri sushi, and 4 additional rolls of sushi on top of that. Gyoza — 6 pieces of crispy and hot, burning my mouth. I LOVEIT. The salmon collar was PHENOMENAL! I was enjoying it so much that I turned the other direction away from my friends and meticulously worked on eating all the succulent pink flesh. There wasnt even lemon in it and it was so tasty and wonderful and srumptious and I even daydream about eating it again. Damn this place for being 45 minutes away from my house! The 4 rolls of sushi that I had were awesome too! I dont remember much since they went into my mouth so quickly in hopes that my mind doesnt think its full so I can stuff my tummy some more. Also I love it when nigiri sushi has a long slice of fish and a little bit of rice… you know when the tail of the sushi trails far after the rice dollop. Like a long piano tuxedo coat. Do you get what I’m saying? I want value INTENSE value and this place is really floating my boat to the MAX.

The best All-You-Can-Eat sushi place I’ve been to, and perhaps the best sushi I’ve ever had. The quality of the sushi here is something else. The fish is super fresh and the rolls are excellent. Come hungry because as with other AYCE places, you’ll have to pay for whatever you’ve ordered but cannot finish. When I came here, I literally ate to the capacity of what my stomach can handle. I had to swallow the last few bites with water, and I had to rest a bit and walk around before I felt safe to drive. That’s how much sushi I ate that night. And there were just two of us so it was harder for us to handle at the end. I would honestly recommend coming with a group of friends and PACEYOURSELVES when ordering the sushi! What may seem like not enough at first may become so much that you’re in pain when you eat. There’s another AYCE sushi place right down the street from here, but I think I liked this better — though it’s a bit pricier, I think it’s a bit higher in terms of quality of the sushi.

I’m not surprised by some of the reviews about this place. Its a small quaint, sushi restaurant with only a couple people waiting the tables. That would definitely result in slow service, and probably overwhelmingly long wait times. That wasn’t quite the case for me, but I can see how that could happen. In my case I got the all you can eat sushi and it was good. Between my buddy and I we polished off… well, I’ll just say a lot. And the sushi was well prepared and it tasted good… not the best, but its up up there. The service was surprisingly good as the two women worked like beasts to serve every table. It was understandably slow, but not to the point that it got annoying. Good experience, and would definitely come here again. Also, when we were there, the place was packed, every table occupied. So get there early if you want a speedy lunch.

DISCLAIMER: any views or opinions presented in this review are solely those of the writer and do no necessarily present those of the writer’s fellow Unilocal friends. the views or opinions of the writer might have been tinted by generosity of the sushi chefs at Tokyo Ice. Why am i giving this place a 5-star rating? i know i am not all too crazy about japanese restaurant owned by korean but i am all crazy about all the details that koreans pay attention on prepping and plating each dish. i know i am not all crazy about rolls but i am all crazy about freshness and combination of fresh fish on/in rolls. i know i am not all crazy about ayce(all you can eat) so i sit at the bar and order a la carte after examining the displaced fish. this place has a great alcohol selection(beer, soju, saki, rice wine, plum wine, etc.). the sushi chefs are extremely meticulous in prepping and generous in giving. they are also great drinkers. The secret of having a 5star experience is to sit at the bar with a friend or two. Order a beer for you and another for the chefs. And you are set to have a great dinner. Skip the ayce and order a la carte. Try to avoid busy weekend hours. The bathroom is a huge ‘nay’ factor. the restaurant shares the building’s restrooms so you have to exit out of the restaurant and make sure to take the key with you.

Being that I live down the street, I was always curious about this place. So one day, my BFF and I decided to try it, and it was a success! We’ve been regulars ever since. We ALWAYS sit at the bar and ALWAYS do the AYCE sushi because it’s all-you-can-eat of practically everything, appetizers and entrees included! Plus, the chefs are hilarious and they love us! Haha. Service is great, the rolls are dericious and the waitresses are pretty nice as well. They always know what we want as starters before we even have to say anything! Okay, so maybe we’re regular fatties, but at least it’s less ordering work for us. Just the right quantity for fairly good quality. I seriously stuff my face to the point that it looks like I just got my wisdom teeth pulled and eat ’til I have to unbutton the top of my pants just so I can breathe. The heaving walk back home is usually very slow – slower than a turtle and more like the pace of a slug.
