We order from the Chicken Inn in Endeavor every year we visit Briggsville. First time we stopped in they were OUTOFCHICKEN… go figure. Thought it must be good if so much chicken was ordered that they actually ran out! Gave it another try and it is some of the best chicken we have ever had. Chicken Inn is one of the only spots still on our order out list when we come to town. Thanks for being a part of our family vacation every year. See you again at the end of July!!! You might just pass by this road-stop chicken joint– but you’d be missing out on some great home style fare! I can tell you what we had: biscuits and(sausage) gravy with two eggs and the two-piece«broasted» chicken(comes with a biscuit, potato and coleslaw). In short– this place specializes in their«broasted» chicken. Silly name, but great results. Pressure-fried chicken is crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. Biscuits are fresh, buttery, and delicious, and the sausage gravy(as far as I can tell) is homemade to perfection(something I rarely find anymore). We had spent the early morning hours(4:30am — 7:00am) in a bird blind watching Greater Prairie Chickens in the Buena Vista Grassland to the north, and then a few more hours birding the surrounding area, so this little gem made the perfect end to our morning tour-de-force as we headed back south towards Madison. So the next time you see the sign on the side of I-39, don’t chicken out; Chicken Inn.
